Damart & Summer - Two Words I Never Thought I'd Say & WIWT

Okay so when Damart recently got in touch to ask if I'd be interested in reviewing a couple of pieces from their clothing collection, firstly I thought Damart don't do clothing but great thermal layers for keeping us warm come winter!!  And secondly that if they did do clothing there wouldn't be anything that appealed to me as although I may have reached 40 I have yet to start dressing in a certain way that I would picture of Damart's clothes.

Well let me tell you straight away I was very pleasantly surprised by the clothing that they have to offer & even more surprisingly yes I could see myself in quite a few of their pieces!!!

So what did I choose, well you won't be surprised to hear that this stunning ivory jacket was first on my list, but unfortunately due to it's popularity it wasn't available in my size......no surprise there considering how gorgeous it looks & only £45!!  Plus it even comes in navy but even I know for the moment at least I have enough navy jackets hanging in my wardrobe!!!

This jacket would look great for so many occasions - over a shift dress for a wedding on cooler days, teamed with some smart capri trousers for work, leisure or play & also dressed down with some distressed denim & a simple cami.  You can see why I was gutted my size was out of stock!!!

I also really loved these chambray trousers too for a smarter & cooler take on boyfriend jeans but again sadly not available in my size :-(

Luckily the next time on my wish list was available in my size.  A simple loose knit three quarter sleeved jumper.

Can you believe until now I didn't own a white jumper - I mean seriously this is such a useful addition.  Once I've got a tan or failing the arrival of a British summer (slapped the fake tan on, on a more regular basis) this will look so fresh & crisp teamed with denim.  Plus due to the loose knit not too hot to wear on cooler summer days so I don't look like I'm going through the 'change' & sporting a red flushed face.  Of course it goes without saying that it's a great quality garment & I love the three quarter length sleeves & length - no fear of it rising up & exposing my 'mummy' tummy!!!

Here's how I've styled my jumper, although of course being white it's going to go with everything in my wardrobe!

Jumper - Damart £29
Scarf - Zara £25.99
Jeans - Zara
Sparkly Ballet Pumps - Zara

The second item I chose was this gorgeous shirt.  I really love the beige/brown shades teamed with the white background & knew as soon as I saw it it would look stunning with either tan or gold accessories not to mention sun kissed skin!!

So here's just one of the ways I intend to wear mine, yes it's 100& polyester but quite frankly it doesn't crease plus it looks really stylish & is something that little bit different with the print & edging so a total winner in my eyes!

Necklace - Banana Republic
Shirt - Damart £29
Belt - Massimo Dutti
Jeans - Zara
Bracelets - Banana Republic & J Crew £125
Sandals - Next £42
Clutch - Massimo Dutti

Finally here's what I'm wearing today.  After a fab date night last night & the return of a rather tired to say the least son from his party & sleepover a quiet & chillaxing day in for us so I've gone for a dressed down casual vibe today with distressed denim & a splash of colour with my scarf.  Although the sun is currently shining so I may swap the jeans for a pair of shorts & enjoy the sunshine!

Scarf - Zara
Shirt - Zara
Distressed Jeans - Zara
Wedge Trainers - Ash

So what do you think?  Did you know that Damart also did clothing & if you did had you written it off as being for women of a certain age & style?!!!  I'd love to hear what you think of the two pieces I chose & if you like how I've styled them.

Have a great day, enjoy your Sunday & see you in the morning.

  1. Good choice Jane, a white summer sweater is a really useful item, particularly with our summer. Really like the shirt goes well with the white.
