Celebrity Style Steal - Olivia Palermo & WIWT

Another month, another celebrity style steal & who better to feature than the stunning Olivia Palermo.  Now I must confess the only thing I know (or need to know for that matter) about Ms Palermo is that she ALWAYS looks stunning.  Yup sickeningly she seems to have that great natural ability to be able to rock the modern chic look effortlessly, plus of course she's naturally stunning too! *sighs*

Now I might not be able to turn back the clock to look as youthful as Olivia but I can attempt to steal her style.  As soon as I saw the below picture I knew this outfit would be perfect to recreate as it's a look that can be worn by any age group plus it would make a great Christmas outfit.

So first up here's Olivia looking totally gorgeous (I fear I have an unhealthy girl crush developing!!).

Now on with the style steal, minus of course her arm candy ;-)

So first off the dress & this Mango one looks a pretty good replica, even if I do say so myself!  I love the deep 'V' neckline teamed with the pleated chiffon bottom half & as you can see from the below picture it could so easily be dressed down with ankle boots teamed with a scarf & a biker jacket to get use on a daily basis too.

For the necklace I couldn't decide between two I spotted in Topshop so I've featured them both.  The first one is a gold mesh & snake layered version which would be perfect for brightening up the black dress & tying in with the shoes & clutch.

But equally this beaded black faceted version is also stunning & extremely elegant.  I mean how stunning would this look not only styled with the dress but teamed with a simple white shirt, skinny distressed jeans & a fabulous heel & clutch for a night out?!!! Just divine daaaarling!

I also spotted this great cuff bracelet in Topshop, perfect for teaming with either necklace & looks far more expensive than it costs.  It would also make a great staple to layer up with other bracelets too if you wanted to make more of feature.

Moving onto the shoes & seeing as we're nearly in December instead of going for open toed sandals I've picked these gorgeous slingbacks from Boden as they'll be perfect for pairing with nude tights without having to announce to the world that you're not brave enough to go bare legged!  Such a gorgeous subdued shade of gold that again these shoes really could be teamed with anything not to mention dressed up or down & would be perfect come the hotter months, as we all know how useful metallics can be especially when thinking of holidays & travelling light!

And finally turning to the clutch, I've gone for something a little larger than Olivia as of course us 'normal' folk need to be able transport a ton of essentials including of course the libby, phone, spare pair of tights not to mention hubby's wallet & car keys!!

I love the simplicity of this bag, perfect for summer holidays not to mention nights out with the other half or the girls.

Finally here's my outfit for the day, off out for lunch before crashing on the sofa - bliss!

Shirt - Mango
Necklace - Pia Jewellery
Skirt - Next
Bag - Gap
Boots - Zapita

Grey, Leopard Print & Leather

Necklace - Pia Jewellery £45
Bag - Next £22

So there you have my steal on Olivia's style.  What do you think?  Are you in love with Olivia just as much as I am?  I really wouldn't mind a mooch in her closet (no doubt closets) that's for sure!!  How about the look is it something you can see yourself wearing, or perhaps a version of this look over the coming few weeks?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't forget as well as all the other discounts flying around it's the last day for 10% off any purchases from Seven Boot Lane, just use code MMF10.

Enjoy your Sunday & see you in the morning.

New Outfit Post - Hot Pink, Tweed, Leopard Print & Greys

So how's everyone getting on with all these discount codes that are flying about left right & centre?!!  Luckily for our bank account I was otherwise engaged yesterday having a fab time in London with the girls - lots of bubbles, laughter & a lovely afternoon tea were exactly what the doctor ordered - to say we had lots of fun would be something of an understatement.

However this morning seeing as I was awake at silly o'clock I simply couldn't resist taking a peak at Mango's latest offerings.  Well.......with a fast approaching birthday not to mention Christmas it would have been rude not to, especially seeing as there's currently 30% off!

Now I was 'quite' good in that I only looked at their 'new in' items & as you'd expect there was lots of goodies to tempt me & all perfect for the coming festive season.  Starting with this lovely classic off the shoulder maxi dress.  Perfect for the coming festivities but also idea for summer too.  I think this would look stunning teamed with a wider belt (I'm thinking one of my studded elasticated ones) & heels for a party then sandals for the hols!

Love this wrap 'V' neck blouse.  I find this type of top so useful for wearing under a jacket as there's no collar to have to worry about but equally they look fab dressed up with some wax effect or leather trousers too for a night out.

As you can see I was mainly drawn to all things black & this lovely suede chain bag is no exception.  Classic, elegant, practical & stylish - what more could you possibly want?!

As with the off the shoulder dress I've featured about this jumpsuit would be equally perfect for Christmas/New Year & summer holidays.  I just love the neckline & fit.

Another thing I am really liking at the moment is oversized shirts.  Perfect for wearing over leather effect leggings to cover my bum but equally perfect for layering under a sweatshirt too.

Can we ever have enough little black dresses in our wardrobes?!!  The simplicity of this crepe dress means it's perfect for dressing up of an evening as well as hiding that extra portion of Christmas dinner ;-0 Not to mention teaming with a biker jacket & chunky boots or a longline cardi & chunky scarf for a more dressed down look.

In fact it would be a hard call between the black shift dress & this lovely crossover/wrap style.

Another wardrobe staple would be this lace pencil skirt which when teamed with a cami or the wrap blouse shown above would look effortlessly elegant but can so easily be dressed down to get your use in the day with a denim shirt or sweatshirt.

Finally how about this simple black cape - perfect for slipping over your evening dress on your way to a party but equally fab for wearing over your biker jacket or blazer when layering up.

Ooh temptations, temptations....what's a girl to do?!!

Back to reality today & the normal karate run but hoping to have a bit of a quieter day after London yesterday.

Decided to wear my Boden hot pink tweed blazer today, which I've teamed with one of my Woolovers jumper & my Seven Boot Lane boots.

Have a fab Saturday, I'd love to hear if you're tempted to hit Mango's latest mega discount or are all Mango-ed out?!  If you are clicking the button don't forget to use code 5BLACK4.

New Outfit Post - Greys & Navy.......London Here We Come & Discounts Galore!!!

Up & out early this morning as I'm off to London for the day with a group of friends.....whoop whoop!

To say we're all a little excited is bound to be an understatement as we've been planning this expedition for the last 12 months after our last trip when we went to London for afternoon tea at the Savoy.

This year we're off to Claridges & as all five of us have birthdays coming up within a month of each other we're starting the celebrations today.  Of course the celebrations are bound to get off to a great start as we've got a bottle or two of bubbles for in the taxi & on the train down together with pain au chocolate & strawberries dipped in chocolate :-)

Of course the only worry of the day was what on earth to wear & that couldn't be finalised until we knew what the weather was going to be doing.  Factor in the fact that we need to 'try' & remain upright so need sensible shoes (of course it would be down to the heel on my shoes that I fall over not the amount of bubbles ;-) ), smart for Claridges & relatively warm too gave us all a bit to think about.

In the end here's what I've decided to go for.

Hat - Zara
Stole - Bought off eBay
Jacket - Zara
Top - Zara
Trousers - Zara
Bag - Bought in Majorca
Boots - Zapita

Greys & Navy

Hat - Hush £40
Jacket - Zara £69.99
Top - Zara £39.99
Trousers - Zara £29.99
Boots - Zapita £169

Right I'd better get a move on as I don't want to miss my pick up.......let the celebrations commence....London here we come & to anyone that has the misfortune to sit next to us on the train I can only apologise at least this year we're going to try & not sit in the quiet carriage!!!

Happy Black Friday....lots of serious temptations about this weekend....far to many to mention but just to tempt you further ASOS have 20% off all full and sale priced items click here & use code 'CYBERWKND20', Marks & Spencer have up to 30% off click here, Boden have 30% off everything plus free postage & returns click here & use code G8N3 & Mango have 30% off everything click here & use code 5BLACK4 (they even do free returns now!!)....all this sales & bubbles could prove lethal in London!!

Styling My Boden Partywear & WIWT

So following on from my previous post (click here) on my edit of Boden's party clothes, as promised today I'm sharing with you the stunning pieces I selected & how I would personally style them.

First off here's what I chose.  Starting with something that got my inner magpie very excited, these stunning sequinned court shoes.  I went for the navy version but they're also available in pewter & I'm sure I don't need to explain why I couldn't resist these babies.  Plus with a 8cm heel for me they're the perfect height for walking unaided (prior to a few drinks of course ;-) ).  Not to mention they're going to be great to dress up or down.

I also couldn't resist the simplicity of this gorgeous cashmere relaxed fit jumper.  Perfect for snuggling in come the cooler weather teamed with a simple pair of jeans & casual boots but also great for dressing up with a leather pencil skirt & court shoes & rocking the relaxed glamour look that looks so sexy but in an understated way.

Having studied all the colours (it comes in navy, red, caramel & grey) I decided to go for the grey as I believe it's a great neutral that will work with so many things currently hanging in my wardrobe.

Plus not only is the jumper 100% cashmere it's machine washable too not to mention a great longer length making it perfect to wear with faux leather leggings as it will cover my bum!

Of course most of us live in knitwear this time of year so when I saw this next item that incorporates knitwear & bling in the one piece well it was love at first sight!  I ordered all my normal sizing in the items featured apart from this jumper as I wanted it to be less fitted so that it would look great teamed with distressed boyfriend jeans on casual days.

Obviously due to the delicateness of the collar this jumper will need to be hand washed but as long as it doesn't have to be dry cleaned I'm not adverse to the odd bit of manual labour (hell I may even try it on a hand wash cycle in the machine if I'm feeling brave!).   Plus if you're interested it's also available in light cream too & being 100% merino wool it's lovely & soft when worn.

Finally I chose this gorgeous lace pencil skirt & after much thought decided to plump for the pewter colour, although the black & green colours that it also comes in were also close favourites.  I'm 5'7" and went for the regular length as I wanted it to fall just above my knee.

So how would I style these beauties?!  Well first off the beauty of these four pieces are that they're great to mix & match with each other.  As I've shown in my first outfit the shoes are perfect to team with my Boden sparkly clutch & when teamed with the embellished jumper & lace skirt you've got a stunning outfit for any occasion this festive period.

As I mentioned above I sized up with the embellished jumper as I wanted to be able to dress it down with loose fitting jeans.  In this outfit I've teamed the jumper with my Boden Boho boots and some distressed boyfriend style jeans but it would look equally stunning when teamed with one of my many skinny pairs too.  I just love the bit of sparkle from the collar and cuffs against the distressed denim & when winter really sets in who doesn't like a bit of bling to brighten up their day?!

Jeans - Zara, similar here

As I mentioned earlier all these pieces provide a great mix & match opportunity meaning that you can create a few outfits from just a few basic pieces.  To show how you could dress the lace skirt down a touch plus hide that additional helping of turkey on Christmas Day ;-) I've teamed the relaxed fit jumper with the skirt & swapped the heels for ankle boots.

Necklace - Zara, similar here

It's really hard to describe but the skirt has the most gorgeous metallic finish to it.  I've tried to capture it in the pictures & this close up is the nearest I can get to showing you but believe me it's even more beautiful in real life.

In fact the skirt will go with so many things in my wardrobe from a simple basic grey sweatshirt to any of my denim shirts.  In my next outfit I've teamed it with a mid blue denim shirt & grey accessories. I just love this look & will definitely be wearing this for work in the coming months....although of course grey tights will need to be added ;-)

 Scarf - Zara £17.99
Denim Shirt - Zara, similar here
Boots - Zapita £169

In my next outfit I've teamed the shoes with a simple 'going out with the girls for drinks' look.  As you can see when paired down with simple separates their bling factor is more subdued & they really don't need to just be kept for special occasions.

Shirt - Mango £39.99
Bag - bought in Majorca, similar here
Jeans - Zara, similar here
Bracelet - J Crew £125

Finally I've paired the relaxed fit jumper with my faux leather trousers.  Again I think this jumper like the embellished one is going to look pretty stunning teamed with distressed denim & is definitely on my list of outfits to wear.

Hat - Zara, similar here
Scarf - Zara, similar here
Shirt - Massimo Dutti, similar here
Bracelet - J Crew £125
Faux Leather Trousers - Zara, similar here
Shoes - Office, similar here

Finally here's what I'm wearing today.

Tuxedo - Zara
Scarf - Zara
Shirt - Mango
Jeans - Zara
Boots - Mango

Blacks, Greys & Yellows

Tuxedo - Mango £59.99
Scarf - Zara £19.99
Shirt - Mango £39.99
Jeans - Mango £44.99
Boots - Mango £99.99

So what do you think?  Are you as in love with Boden's party collection as I am?!!  I have to admit I found it really hard deciding which pieces to choose & was sorely tempted by all of it but I think I've picked wisely to make sure I get my wear out of all the new additions.  Don't forget if you're tempted Boden currently have 25% off everything with free postage & returns click here & remember to use code 3Y8Y but be quick as the offer ends today!

How about you are you tempted by anything?  As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.
