What I've Been Buying in December & The Sales Plus By OOTD

There were so many discount codes & sales flying around in December that by the end of the month I was either going to be shining my halo or having my wings clipped from the amount of new packages arriving through the door!

Thankfully I can report back that for December at least the halo is pretty much intact (obviously helped by the fact that new clothes received as presents for my birthday & Christmas which obviously don't count ;-) ).

Of course I wouldn't be me without the 'odd' purchase, so here's what I brought!

First up this lovely top from Zara.  Super chic, boucle, a hint of glitter & mega useful - who can argue with that?!!

Now I've been on the look out for a casual styled red blazer so when I saw this one in the Zara sale at 40% off I just had to click the button.  It's going to be perfect for dressing down with some rolled up distressed boyfriend jeans come the warmer months & I cunningly returned a few Christmas presents that had gone into the sale & re-brought for their sale price which meant this baby was free!

Now we all know I love my statement jewellery & having already been given the below bracelets in smoky quartz from my hubby last valentine's day, when I saw that this colour way had been reduced by 50% & knowing how much I love & wear my previous set it was a serious no brainer to click the button on these beauties.

And my other & final (yes you did read that right!) purchase for the month was something I thought I'd never say I'd brought......yup *whispers* white trainers!!!  Now I know a lot of fashion bloggers have been raving about the revival of their Stan Smiths or equivalent but I've never been a trainer kind of girl (I just about put up with them for running!) so I've taken quite a bit of convincing but seeing as I managed to nab mine with 33% off & thinking to the lighter & warmer months to come I thought I'd give them a go!  Time will only tell if they're impulse or can't live without but I'm thinking they need to loose a bit of their newness & brightness before I'm totally happy but hell are they comfy!

And here's my outfit for today, which is going to be a busy one - work as well as taking my son to his first interview for sixth form college - not sure whose going to be more nervous - me or him!!

Shirt - Zara (Christmas present)
Necklace - Handmade
Bracelets - Gemini-Woman
Jeans - Zara
Boots - Boden

Navy & Checks

Shirt - Mango £34.99
Jeans - Zara
Boots - Boden £119

So how about you?  Have you been too busy playing Santa to have the time, money & inclination to even think about yourself or have the discount codes proved too great a temptation to avoid?  I'd love to hear.  Of course the fact the sales have been in full swing means my halo is unlikely to be shining as brightly by the end of this month but hey never say never!  And just to tempt you further Wallis have 24% off everything for today only click here to start shopping ;-)

  1. Way to much temptation out there, Next got me for 3 pairs of shoes, two pairs of running leggings one jumper and jacket. Lets not discuss the Asos box that turned up last week. And the dresses in my hush basket waiting for the checkout....... I have to stop Jane. Good luck with the sixth form hunting. After all the looking and indecision mine decided to stay where she was. :)

    1. Wow sounds like you've got a fab haul Lotty.
We're basically going with the approach of applying for all options for sixth form & then he's got the choice when he gets his results as like you say he could suddenly decide to stay where he is now with all his friends - a year of change I feel!

    1. I'm not sure how long I keep being good up Lynne but it certainly helps when you get clothes & accessories for your birthday & Christmas ;-)

  4. I love the red blazer and that gorgeous bracelet! Great outfit of the day, too. I've now given myself a set monthly allowance, so I shall be sharing my purchases at the end of each month to see how I've done! This month's allowance is long gone... xxx

    1. There's nothing like being able to return stuff that's now in the sale & get more for your money is there Andrea.
As for the trainers I could have sworn they wouldn't suit me but having worn them a couple of times now I'm totally in love with them.
