Getting Ready For Summer & WIWT

So I have a question for you.  How frequently do you wear your sunglasses?  I'm really bad at wearing them & only wear them when I need to go driving, if the sun is particularly glaring or when horizontal sun worshipping on holiday & reading a book.  But I've decided that this year I need to start wearing them more - not so that I can pose & pretend I'm Victoria Beckham (I promise I'm not going to start wearing them when there's no need & the skies are grey or black for that matter!!) but whenever I feel myself starting to squint, as let's face it it's time I started taking more care of the old wrinkles or laughter lines as I like to call them ;-)

I mean although it's currently freezing it can't be too long before we feel the warmth of the sun on us can it?!!!  So with this in mind I've decided to treat myself to some new sunglasses, the only problem is that good sunglasses don't come cheap do they?!  On a recent shopping trip I happened to pop into the Sunglass Hut to try a few different styles on & having found a few pairs I liked I decided to take a note of the model numbers & prices to see if I could find them any cheaper on the internet.

Ten minutes on the internet & I stumbled upon Smart Buy Glasses, a company I'd not heard of before but having looked to see if they sold the glasses I was interested in & discovering that they were nearly a third cheaper, well what can I say apart from I was sold!  Plus after looking at their terms & conditions not only do they guarantee to be the best price, they offer free delivery as well as free returns.  And on top of that they offer a 100 day return guarantee, 24 months warranty, provide a free £10 lens cleaning kit as well as offering prescription lens from just £25 - to be honest it sounded too good to be true.

And if that wasn't enough to tempt me into making a purchase they also donate a pair of glasses for every pair brought to someone in need!  Not to mention have a huge selection of both sunglasses & normal glasses, over 25,000 in fact so if you can't find a pair you like here where are you going to find some?!!

Naturally despite already having found a style I liked I felt it rude not to look at some alternatives too & here's just a selection of the ones to catch my eye.

The first ones were these Ray-Ban's.  I a real classic uni-sex shape that you could 'buy' for your other half & then they could mysteriously find their way into your handbag couldn't they ;-)

Again another real classic that could be shared with the hubby are the Ray-Ban Aviators.

These Jackie Ohh glasses also caught my eye plus I wouldn't mind if some of her elegance rubbed off on me when wearing these babies.

I'm also a fan of the cat-eye style too & these DKNY sunnies are a great price.

Plus I love the heavier frame of this Dolce & Gabbana pair.

And despite being around for a few years I still love the Tom Ford Whitney sunglasses.

And finally these are the ones that originally caught my eye in the Sunglass Hut.

Naturally after looking at my options I then felt I 'needed' to order a few pairs to make sure I was making the right choice.  Well with free delivery & returns I guessed I had nothing to loose ;-)

It took about a week for my order to arrive & it made opening the parcel even sweeter knowing I'd made a substantial saving :-)  So after much trying on & trying to strain my neck to see the glasses from different angles, in different lights & generally driving the hubby & son mad asking for their option I finally decided to go with the original pair I'd seen in the Sunglass Hut.  Don't they always say you should go with your gut instincts?!!!

I'd been a bit worried that the returns process might be a bit of a hassle but I'm happy to report that it was quite easy - just a phone call to get a returns number & then wait for an email with the returns form & free postage label - simples!  All I need to hope now is that I can start to stop the wrinkles from getting worse on my eyes & the sun starts to shine & temperatures start to increase!

Moving on from sunglasses & onto what I'm wearing today with layers being the order of the day.

Scarf - Zara
Jumper - Boden
Bracelets - Handmade
Jeans - Massimo Dutti
Boots - Oasis

Grey on Grey

Scarf - ASOS £18
Jumper - Boden £49
Jeans - Mango £39.99
Boots - Boden £119

So what do you think?!  Are you a one type of sunnies kind of girl, or do you have a couple of styles that you mix & match to your outfit?!  Do you go down the designer route or the high street & what about style do you have a set style that you know suits your face?  Maybe you've even already ordered from Smart Buy Glasses in the past or know of somewhere even cheaper - just don't tell me I could have saved even more money otherwise I'll be gutted!!!  As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Finally just in case anyone's interested in making a purchase I found that code 'SBG10UK' gave me £10 off any purchase of £150 more, which with the original saving was a lovely Brucie bonus :-)

Right I'm off to get on with the day.  Have a fab day & I'll see you tomorrow.

    1. I'm really pleased with mine Michelle not to mention the fact that I made such a saving. I didn't compare the Ray-Ban Aviators but hopefully they're considerably cheaper too.

  2. Love your posts & your style Jane. Could I cheekily ask if your Clark's Mezze Rose boots are true to size? I love them and have been stalking the Clark's site & they're now down to half price. I usually need a half size smaller in Clarks boots but wondering whether to risk ordering in my normal size (5). Thank you so much J

    1. Hi & thank you :-) It's not cheeky at all, I've just checked my boots & they're a 6½, which is my normal size & they fit perfectly. I'd say give it a go as that's a fantastic saving & if they are a little bit big perhaps try an inner sole or wear with a thick pair of socks ;-)

  4. I'm pretty rubbish with sunglasses. I don't spend a lot on them because I always end up losing them somehow. I'll be sure to check out this website. I love the outfit, Jane. Outfit perfection. I'll be stealing this look :-) Lynne xx
