Ideas For Valentines Day & WIWT

So there's a small event called Valentine's Day happening in a couple of weeks & on the off chance  that hubby happens to stumble across this post (with the help of the odd nudge ;-) ) I thought I'd feature some of the products I'd love to receive.  Well there's nothing like being optimistic is there ladies & you never know ;-)

The ultimate pressie for me would have to be jewellery - diamonds, semi precious stones or costume jewellery I'm really not fussed but I LOVE receiving a new addition to add to my collection.  One brand I noticed featuring on Instagram a lot just before Christmas was Monica Vinader & in the interest of 'research' I felt I needed to take a look & see what all the fuss was about - BIG mistake as now I'm wanting one of everything!!!

For those like me that hadn't heard of the brand before they do some really simple, classic designed pieces that are quite frankly stunning.  Prices aren't cheap but as long as you don't go for items with diamonds they're not unobtainable & would make a stunning special gift.  If I'm honest they had me at being able to personalise their bracelets & the fact they don't charge for this is just an added Brucie bonus.

So in my dream world I like the idea of layering their Fiji Chain Friendship bracelet & having one in silver, one in gold & one in rose gold - ok so that's not realistic for this Valentine's day but perhaps one year if I'm very good ;-)

Although I'm also loving their Friendship bracelets with coloured cords too, perfect for adding a pop of colour to an outfit.

Or even their Havana Friendship bracelets, which are more affordable than the chain ones.

And finally there's their Bali Friendship bracelets, which are available in silver, gold or rose gold & a variety of different cords.  Naturally I'm most drawn to the hot pink one I've featured below (hint, hint hubby ;-) ).

Another thing a girl can never have enough of is perfume & after my hour with the lovely people at Jo Malone the other Saturday I've now got a couple more scents on my wish list.  I just adored the smell of their Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne - a gorgeous light & delicate fragrance that would be perfect for the day.

And the other one to make it onto my wish list is their Blackberry & Bay cologne, which is not only gorgeous on it's own but I just love it layered with one of my all time favourites Pomegranate Noir.

Of course you can't help saying Valentine's Day without the image of red popping into your mind so it seems the perfect time to think about investing in a new red nail polish & this one from OPI is top of my wish list.

Or even a new red lipstick - I've heard great things about this Bobbi Brown one.

Another accessory I can't get enough of is a scarf & there's some lovely new ones out there.  Just perfect for brightening up a dull winter outfit.  I just love this animal print one from John Lewis which is in a gorgeous shade of pink - how stunning would this look with a navy blazer & jeans let alone teamed with grey.

Or for a real classic scarf you couldn't go wrong with this navy & striped one again perfect for teaming with a navy blazer, jeans & a spot of leopard print not to mention an all white number come the summer months.

I seem to be developing an unhealthy addiction to anything featuring a pom pom at the moment so I'm also lusting after this scarf.  This would look so elegant teamed with camel capri trousers & ballet shoes I almost feel it would be rude not to order as a Valentine's Day present to myself!

Or for something a little more colourful then this Hobbs scarf is just lovely & the yellow really helps lift it & it would be perfect for Spring.

Back onto pom poms again with this Jigsaw scarf.  The print very much reminds me of a Liberty print I used to love & I'm thinking simple white shirt/t-shirt, jeans & some red ballet pumps & it would look stunning.

Apart from undies another great Valentine's gift has to be sleepwear & I've made the expensive mistake of taking a look at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's latest range for Autograph & have fallen head over heel in love with it all.  This cocoon wrap looks perfect for wearing as a sexy alternative to a dressing gown let alone teamed with some jogging bottoms & a simple cami top for a great loungewear outfit.

And what a genius idea of including padding in this lovely simple nightie, after all after children who doesn't need a little help in that department when going bra free?!!

Or if you're more of a pyjama kind of girl they've even got the padding in the cami top of this set.

Love the back of this number - it almost seems too glamorous to wear just for sleeping!

And I love this next set - just wondering if you could adapt this for weekend slobbing round the house as it would make great loungewear.

Or for a more traditional set of pyjamas, what about these?  Any chance it makes you look even a little like Rosie by donning them do you think?!!

So there you have it, my wish list for this Valentine's Day.  Of course if I'm being totally honest I'll be happy with some choccies, bubbles & the hubby cooking dinner but don't tell him I said that!!!

Finally here's what I'm wearing today - a cosy day in with the hubby bravely battling on with his man-flu & both our son & I trying to dodge the germs!!

  1. You get dressed on a lazy day in? I wouldn't get out of my PJ's if I'm not planning on leaving the house on a Sunday. That being said you look lovely, I particularly like the necklace, it's beautiful. We don't usually celebrate Valentines, maybe a card or a box of chocs and a night in together. Perfect.

  4. We'll be skipping the Valentines gifts in lieu of birthday presents!! There's some fab items on here, particularly the Havana bracelet, OPI Polish, Bobbi Brown lipstick & I adore the Sea Salt & Wood Sage perfume - that's been on my list for a while now! X
