Taking A Peek At Wallis' SS15 Collection & WIWT

You may recall that the other week I was lucky enough to be invited to Wallis' Head Office in London to see a preview of the SS15 collection & meet with their Design Director.

Wallis always used to be one of my 'go to' places when many moons ago I used to work in a corporate office.  I had some great pieces from there including a stunning strapless maxi dress & a lovely crepe black maxi skirt that I still remember fondly.  Then life changed & I became a mum & I don't know but in my view Wallis seemed to loose it's way & I began to associate it with things my mum would wear.  Its probably only been the last 18 months or so that I've really starting sitting up & seeing what they have to offer & if their new collection is anything to go on they have certainly got their fashion mojo back as they have  some amazing pieces being launched in the next few months.

One thing I learnt about my time with Wallis was that they actually have their own in-house design & print team so any prints on their garments are all uniquely created for them.  Which is something a lot of brands don't do these days.  It must be a pretty amazing process to see a print come to life - from the original inspiration, through to the painting & design of the print to seeing it on a garment.

Now we all know I'm no David Bailey but as promised I've included just a taster of some of the beauties that are going to be hitting our stores in the coming months.

As you'll see from the pictures below there's lots of khaki/utility inspired pieces, stunning pastels with some gorgeous kaftans that would be perfect for day to night when on holiday.  Gorgeous off whites perfect for teaming with sun kissed skin, monochrome galore & a big colour for the coming season blue with a boho/70's vibe but not in a full on way.  Perfect for those of you, like me, who want to give that particular trend a nod but not be a full out 70's chick!

I think the dress shown in the first picture is going to be a real hit, perfect for layering up over a biker jacket on those cooler days as well as teaming with wedges & some delicate gold necklaces come the warmer months & it really will just drape beautifully when on.

There's also some stunning shoes & accessories about to hit the shelves too.  I just love these strappy heels - my only problem is I can't decide - black or grey - grey or black, which one's your favourite?!!    Or if you're more of a wedge kind of girl these black & red pairs remind me very much of a pair Victoria Beckham was recently photographed wearing.  And as for the jewellery how stunning are these two statement necklaces?!!

Here's just a taster of some really stunning designs coming in gorgeous neon colours perfect for summer.

Plus lots of classic & elegant monochrome to tempt, including some amazing jumpsuits, luxe jogger style trousers & stunning loose fit tops.

As well as pretty pastels & floaty tops for sunny days.

Stylish classics with these navy pieces.  How easy would this dress be to wear - simply throw on & layer with some stunning gold jewellery & of course you can never have enough striped tops can you?!! ;-)

And the detailing in their off whites was also exquisite - from gorgeous lace inserts on the neckline to delicate pompom edging on the sleeves - I'm already planning on getting my tan on so I can wear some of these beauties.

I just had to show you this stunning oyster lace dress.  Simply stunning - elegant, sexy & timeless what more could you want.

And as for a black maxi dress, well I think you can safely call off the search with this one below.  I just love the halter neck neckline & the chevron detailing - this beauty is most certainly at the top of my wish list.  Just perfect for the summer - in fact it's just become available to buy online see here so if you love it as much as I do I'd get clicking that button as it really is simply stunning in real life.  Although this simple black midi dress is also a strong contender - I'm sure I read somewhere that a girl can never have too many black dresses ;-)  & I haven't even shown you the other black dress that is quite similar in design to something you could expect from Victoria Beckham.

Moving away from SS15 & back to today - to be honest I'm not sure how long I'll manage to stay dressed for as still since giving into this cold/virus yesterday I'm still feeling pretty rough but thought I'd try & make the effort in the hope it makes me feel better.....can't say it's working at the moment so another day on the sofa/in bed for me!

So what do you think, have you seen any contenders to make it onto your list for the coming season? How about Wallis as a whole what are your thoughts?  Is it somewhere that's back on your radar or have you yet to become acquainted?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I really haven't been able to stop thinking about some of these stunning pieces & will feature even more beauties as & when they're released.  In the meantime I'd love to hear what's caught your eye.

    1. Hi Sam, yes that dress is a stunner isn't it & you're right the second picture is of trousers (I did say I'm not a brilliant photographer didn't I?!!) but I just love the detailing. I can't wait to try the strappy heels on too as the heel height didn't look too bad!

    1. Hi Josephine & thank you for your lovely comment. The navy dress is something I definitely intend to try on as it will be so easy to dress up or down & I'm thinking perfect for our summer holidays. If you haven't looked at Wallis for a while they're definitely worth looking at as they really do have some lovely pieces.

  7. Ooh the navy pieces are lovely Jane, the stripe top in particular! I can totally understand why you are so smitten with the maxi dress too....it's gorgeous! I am off to peruse the Wallis website, not somewhere I would usually shop but after the success of my reefer coat (a purchase that was down to you!) I've found it's always worth a look! Hope you feel better soon xx

    1. The reefer coat was fab wasn't it Michelle & I just know it's something I'm going to be dragging out each year for years to come. I think that's one of the beauties with Wallis they have key on trend pieces that still maintain a level of effortless style so you know you're not going to just be wearing them for the one season.
