Statement Clutches For The Summer & WIWT

Last summer I made a little bit of an impulsive buy & bought a fab hot pink pom pom clutch from ASOS.  Fast forward twelve months & not only has my love for pom poms increased but also my love of embroidered/statement clutches.

As someone that doesn't wear that many patterns (apart from leopard print!) they're a great way of adding a bit of interest & statement to a plain outfit.  I found them so useful last year on holiday for injecting colour into my mainly monochrome capsule wardrobe not to mention for nights out with hubby or the girls that I will admit to being that little bit sad at having to pack them away for the winter.

So this year I've been on a mission to add a couple more to my collection & they'll definitely all be coming away on our holidays with us, as the beauty of them is you don't have to be precious & careful of them, unlike a leather one.  Not to mention they look just as stunning teamed with denim & a pair of flats as they do a little black dress & heels.

So let's get on & take a look at this year's offerings, starting with one that just may have already found a place in my wardrobe :-0

I just love this one from Zara & if you love yellow but it doesn't love you it's a great way of incorporating the colour into your wardrobe without it being next to your skin.

Zara Embroidered Bag

Moving onto Mango with this next one, which would be perfect for going with anything & everything in your wardrobe, so perfect if you want to travel light on your holidays.

Mango Ethnic Embroidery Clutch

Of if you fancy a more monochrome look what about this one from Star Mela.

Star Mela Estee Double Bird Purse

Or this one from Mango.

Mango Fringe Ethnic Clutch

In fact Mango has some beauties including this one.

Mango Printed Linen Blend Clutch

And this one, which I've already purchased & had it's first outing last month on a girls night out.

Mango Ethnic Tassel Clutch

A similar colour way with this one from Hush but this also comes with an across body strap making it even more useful for using for daytime.

Hush Pom Pom Clutch Bag

Or how about this multi coloured one also by Star Mela.

Star Mela Peri Embroidered Purse

I'd not heard of Star Mela before researching *drooling over* embroidered clutches for this post & I now 'need' every single bag that I've featured, including this white & turquoise number, which is just gorgeous.

Star Mela Dora Embroidered Purse

Moving a little off brief with this next couple of bags but still statement in every way & that's sequins.  Again perfect for dressing up on nights out but I also love sequins dressed down with a simple grey or white tee teamed with denim.

Mango Sequinned Clutch

I love the fact that this one from Hush would go with everything being multi-coloured glitter.

Hush Glitter Clutch

Of course having purchased a couple of new additions this year I think my statement clutch collection may be for now complete but I'm also drawn towards a tote/shopper too.  Not only would these be perfect for using on family days out for carrying everyone's sunnies, drinks, refreshments & general rubbish, they'd be perfect as a shopping bag too, not to mention beach bag for the holidays - do you think that's enough justification to allow me to purchase one?!!

I'm sorely tempted by this one from Accessorise as I just love the leather handles not to mention super sized tassel.  Plus from reading a review online the grey is a lot lighter in colour to that of the picture and the red more hot pink - two of my favourite colours.......could this mean it's fate?!! ;-)

Accessorize Rio Woven Leather Handle Shopper Bag

Although this Mango one is just as stunning plus it would be a great size for fitting all our beach essentials in.

Mango Embroidered Boho Bag

I'm also loving this jute bag from Mango & think this would look fabulous with a coloured pom pom or two hanging from the handle.

Mango Boho Jute Bag

But then I also love this tote from Accessorize not to mention the tassels!

Accessorize Multi Woven Tote Bag

So many temptations too much choice, so stepping away from these stunning embroidered bags & back to what I'm wearing today & keeping things nice & casual for a busy day in the office.

So what do you think?  Are you a lover of an embroidered clutch or two for summer?  Perhaps you've already made a purchase, if so what style/colour have you gone for?  Or if you haven't do you see anything to tempt you?  Me I think my clutch collection may be complete but that doesn't stop me toying with the idea of purchasing the tote from Accessorize.........it can't hurt to order it just to take a peek can it?!!

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Right see you in the morning but before I leave you a quick heads up on a couple of sales that have just gone live - French Connection have 20% off (click here) & use code FCST20 & Marks & Spencer have up to 60% off selected items in their sale (see here).

  1. Jane I love these clutch bags....I am a bit like you and as you know not big into patterns, but you are so right this is a great way to do a bit of colour, texture etc. I am off to explore now! Helen xx

    1. They're great aren't they Helen, you'll have to let me know if you get any of them. I seriously tempted by a couple of the totes.

  3. I'm with you on the Star Mela stuff Jane, I only discovered them lately too, but now I need it all!! That Mango clutch has been on my wishlist for a while too, and I daren't go near a branch of Accessorize, or I might find myself broke - I'm such a sucker for sequins and beads! xx

    1. They seem an amazing brand don't they Becky & like you as soon as I hit Accessorize my inner magpie pops out - who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?!
      Jane xx

  4. That Hush jacket looks amazing on you - better than on their website! It's out of stock now except in the smallest sizes, sadly, or I'd be very tempted. How do you find their sizing, out of interest?

    1. Hi Kristina & thank you what a lovely thing to say!
It's such a shame the knitted jackets have virtually sold out as they really are gorgeous, I'm also really tempted by their knitted biker jacket. Size wise I'm generally an 8/10 & find either their size 8s or XS to be a good fit.
      Hope this helps.
      Jane xx

  5. I have that lovely Mango clutch (I bought and stashed in my holiday box ages ago!) in my suitcase all ready to use for the first time next week....once used I bet I will be tempted by another of these beauties! Gorgeous picks Jane and lovely outfit of the day xx
