Celebrity Style Steal - Thandie Newton

Morning ladies, I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Before I get on to today's post I just wanted to thank you all for all the lovely birthday wishes (not to mention congratulations on my Next NBN Blogger of the Year award) I'm always amazed by all the lovely & thoughtful comments & messages you send & whilst I've not met most of you it really does feel like friendship so thank you.

Right back to today & for this month's style steal as soon as I saw this picture of Thandie Newton I just knew I'd have to have a go re-creating this look as it's a practical, warm & stylish look for braving the elements & crowds as Christmas fast approaches.

I'm sure I probably don't even need to say what drew me to the look but just in case, I have two words for you - leopard print & sparkles!  Yup what can I say I can't resist either!  Plus of course Thandie is just one of those stunning natural beauties.

So firstly here's the outfit I'm raving about.

Thandie Newton

And here's how I'd copy the look from finds currently on the high street.

Starting with the Bet-tastic leopard print coat.  This one from Mango is just stunning & you can just tell from the picture how gorgeous & cuddly not to mention soft it's going to be in the flesh.

However, if you fancy rocking a bit of leopard print but don't want to invest heavily what about this faux fur longer version I've found on eBay.  Now I haven't bought this or indeed anything from the seller but for the money it looks great & after having a bit of success recently with some faux fur gilets if I didn't already own a 'Bet' coat I'd certainly think about giving this one a whirl.

Moving onto the jeans now & I've gone for a lighter & softer shade of grey which I just love wearing in the winter, which equally look great in the summer teamed with a pretty white embroidery anglaise blouse too.

Marks and Spencer Skinny Leg Denim Jeans

For the jumper this pure lambswool crew neck from Marks looks perfect for the money, although if you want a slightly slouchy fit I'd recommend trying on a couple of larger sizes.

And finally for the trainers what about these beauties.  Simply gorgeous & a great colour to team with soft blue denims as well as the grey.  I'm just wishing I clicked the button on these beauties the moment I had my toes done as they would have certainly made me smile!

Zara Sparkle Sneakers

Luckily for hubby I have similar versions of the above already hanging in my wardrobe so I've had a go at re-creating the look today, as after a full on day on my feet yesterday my toes are screaming out for trainers & plenty of rest!

So ladies what do you think?  Are you a leopard print & sparkly kind of girl & would you dare to wear the two together?  What about Thandie is she a style icon of yours?

As always I love hearing & reading your thoughts.  And if you're still wondering what to wear for a festive celebration, check out my outfit inspiration here & if you've still got some Christmas shopping to do, there's lots of gift inspiration here.

Right I'm off to continue the birthday celebrations - yup I love birthdays so much we have birthday weeks here (something that came about as a child & me always getting so upset at the end of my birthday!).  What can I say I just absolutely adore birthdays & not just my own I'm exactly the same with hubby's & our son's too & know as my mum & sister both said in separate texts it's something I'm never going to grow up from or change!  Right I have a serious date with my birthday cake - chocolate Victoria sponge with chocolate buttercream icing - simply the best, which will naturally have to be washed down with bubbles....well it would be rude not to surely?!!

See you in the morning & once again thank you for all the lovely wishes.

    1. You can't beat a splash of leopard print can you Joanna?! It's been quite nice teaming it with all grey as opposed to black for a change.
      Enjoy wearing your Topshop one.

  2. CUTE.... I love leopard coats. And so comfortable. Where and when do we get that? Comfortable and cute. Such a rare combination (in my world).

    1. I've loved leopard print coats since I used to admire my Grandma's as a young child & have often talked about getting one & then my hubby surprised me with this one for our anniversary a couple of years ago. I just love stroking it.
