Stealing Victoria Beckham's Style & WIWT

I don't know about you but as soon as I saw this outfit of Victoria Beckham I just knew it was going to make a great style steal as most of us have similar items in our wardrobe & who doesn't love a chunky knit & trainers?!

So here's Mrs B looking effortlessly stylish.

Victoria Beckham

In fact I love this look so much that I've had a go at stealing Victoria's look in today's outfit as it seems the perfect look for breaking out my new Mango trousers.

My Midlife Fashion, Great Plains Chunky Boucle polo neck, golden goose trainers, mango pleated trousers

Jumper - Great Plains
Trousers - Mango £49.99
Trainers - Golden Goose

And here's how you can steal her style from pieces currently on the high street.

Styling A Chunky Knit

Jumper - Jaeger £150
Sunglasses - Boden £59.50
Trousers - Mango £49.99

So what do you think ladies?  Are you liking Mrs B's more dressed down look?  Perhaps is it a look that you can see yourself rocking?  Or do you prefer Mrs B in her stilettos?!  As always I love hearing your thoughts.

  1. Practical question ladies - socks?! I love this look. I have this problem with my Stan Smith trainers though. They are really comfortable but I can't bear to wear them without trainer socks and mine always seem to peep over the top edge of the shoe around the ankle. Jane, I notice you and VB have managed to avoid this. How have you managed it?!!! Maybe you don't bother with socks? I just can't be that cool!! I guess I need a more skimpy trainer socks - any ideas?! Thank you! Love the blog. Jo x

    1. Hi Jo if it's not cold or I'm not going to be outside for long then it's bare feet otherwise it's popsocks all the way - you can't go wrong with these (not sexy I know but they do the trick!). I also wear them under skinny jeans when wearing ballet pumps etc & generally get mine from either Marks or Primark. Hope this helps sort the problem.

  2. She looks like she may have borrowed her trousers from David, it is a difficult look to carry off if you are a larger lady than you or VB are, Jane, also for short people a bit of a heel is needed (speaking from experience) Actually I think you look better than she does & I love the dog!

    1. Sue you're too kind but thank you. I think the trick to this look is finding the right kind of fit in the trousers to suit your body shape (pleated/non-pleated fronts etc) & just getting the proportions right but it's a great everyday kind of look that's kept me nice & cosy today :-)

  3. I love the look ...as a size 14 I've copied the look with a pinstripe pair of trousers currently in white stuff, teamed with a cashmere jumper and trainers . I think is you feel confident you can wear most looks at any size, although Jo you are blessed with a lovely tall slim figure :-) I think you look fab :-) x

    1. Ooh I'm loving the idea of pinstriped trousers Karen. There's definitely a lot of truth in what you say about confidence making an outfit. As will all things if you feel good about something you can take on the world :-)

    1. Yup I wouldn't mind a rummage in her wardrobe that's for sure Natalie.
I'm hoping the Mango trousers will prove a useful addition for Spring & if you're tempted to order them I'd suggest sizing down.

  6. Mrs B always looks good these days and I do love her more casual looks but I think you need to be really skinny to pull this one off.

  7. I love this look on VB and it is something we could all copy quite easily. I think you look better than her, Jane, as you always wear a smile which costs nothing and makes you shine.
I love the 7/8 trouser look and I have seen it dressed up a little with kitten heels for a more formal feel.
I will definitely be trying this as it is still so cold and your jumper looks amazing. The colour combo is just great isn’t it?
    Have a great day.

    1. Gosh Chris what a lovely thing to say - thank you! I sometimes feel silly smiling but I know I'd rather look at a picture where someone is smiling than practising their Zoolander 'blue steel' look ;-)
You're right this length of trouser looks gorgeous with kitten heels as it does will ballet pumps & also the pointed lace up ghille style shoe too.
Hope you've had a lovely day too.
