So how's everyone doing with inspiration for your Spring wardrobes? The thought of blue skies & sunny days really lifts the spirits don't they & of course after a few months of having to wrap up in layers to keep warm it's lovely to be able to start thinking about barring some flesh!
One of the things I love most about the start of a new season is all the new inspiration, looking through the various collections & putting together looks that I feel will work for the months ahead. So when East recently got in touch to see if I'd be interested in styling a couple of pieces from their SS16 collection I immediately lost myself for an hour or so looking through their lookbook & online site to see what gems they had to offer.
Although I've always been aware of East, they really came to the forefront of my attention last summer when I spotted some of their beautiful tassel scarves & boho inspired tops. As with a lot of their designs if you find that come the sunshine you're unleashing your inner boho then with their stunning Eastern inspired accessories & clothing you really should take a look.
Before I show you the couple of pieces that I've been sent I've created several other outfits featuring pieces from their current collection just to give you an idea of what they have to offer.
For the first look I've based the outfit around this stunning silk print jacket. Just gorgeous colours that would slip in perfectly with most wardrobes & a great staple that could so easily be dressed up or down & even worn belted to create a more tailored look.

For the second look I thought I'd show how East also offer some chic tailored pieces. Cigarette pants are a must in my wardrobe both for dressing up & down & I think we can all agree that a girl can never have enough pretty white tops come the sunshine.

If you're more about loose fit dresses come the summer then this next look might just be for you. A simple shirt dress that can be worn loose with chain necklaces & flats for a dressed down day look & would be perfect styled with a denim jacket or boyfriend cardi on cooler days. Or alternatively pair with heels & a belt for a night out as I've shown below.

Finally who doesn't love a maxi & this denim skirt would be perfect for teaming with so many wardrobe basics - a simple white shirt, the classic breton or a pretty cami the choices would be endless.

As you can see from the few pieces I've shown there are some great pieces coming through & I haven't even shown you the most stunning printed maxi dress that has yet to be released but is going to be a limited piece so expect it to sell out fast!
So back to what I picked to style. Well I've gone for two pieces that will slip perfectly into my wardrobe. Firstly a beautiful navy trench. Something I'd been thinking of investing in for a while as it's just perfect for this time of year - not heavy & lumber some like a coat (which we're all fed up with come April) & being tencel this really does fall beautifully. Plus it's now reduced to half price!
My only concern was that sizing for the trench starts in a 10 & East clothing can come up slightly big so I was really worried that this trench would just hang off me & not do me any favours. Something that wouldn't necessarily be a problem with this style coat as of course I could always pull it in with tying the belt either loosely at the back or when worn done up. However on arrival & of course immediately trying it on....(tell me I'm not the only one to do this in the middle of the kitchen?!!) I was delighted to find neither of these tricks were necessary.
And for my second item I chose an oversized silk blouse. Again I was little concerned about sizing but hoped that it wouldn't be an issue as it was meant to be oversized in the first place. Plus having seen a few images of styling with oversized blouses I was keen to start styling & add this style to my wardrobe.
I chose the ivory colour as I thought it would be perfect for styling with distressed denim & navy but if you fancy a different colour it's also available in black, which I think would look stunning teamed with cigarette pants or grey. From a sizing point of view I'm wearing the S & as you can see from the pictures below it drapes beautifully.
Plus how stunning is this ethnic tassel clutch - defintely coming away on holiday with me that's for sure. As I mentioned earlier they have some amazing accessories as well as clothes!
