Happy Friday ladies. I'm going with some firm wardrobe favourites today - a simple cami & jeans paired with a classic blazer & some statement leopard print flats.
Have a fab day & happy wine o'clock for later :-)
See you in the morning & if you haven't done so already there's still time to grab a bargain in Boden's mid season sale with items now reduced by up to 50%! See here for details.
Morning ladies so this morning I want to share with you some of the Hush gorgeousness which has just gone live.
As you'll know by now I'm a huge Hush fan & when I saw the images from the new collection I may have let out a little (ok huge) whoop. I mean seriously how gorgeous is this 'Bet'-tastic halter neck top?! I just LOVE it & think it will be perfect for the up & coming party season. Team with jeans & court shoes with an oversized blazer (see here) for a laid back evening look or go full on glam with a leather pencil skirt (such as this one) or even wax effect skinnies or leather leggings (like these) the possibilities are endless. Plus we all know leopard print & red are two of the top trends to be wearing this season so happy days :-)
You could even team the top with this floaty drop waist skirt. Throw on a leather wrap belt & you've got 2 versatile pieces for your wardrobe that can be made into a one piece.
Heck if you're as much of a leopard print fan as me you could even invest in the long sleeve blouse, which when worn with the matching skirt would look perfect with flat black ankle boots & a leather biker.
Stepping away from all things leopard print (for now!) then this simple black jumpsuit is perfect as pictured above & styled with a classic trench for day then come the evening swap the loafers for heels & a biker & you're good to go.
Now come the depths of winter most of us will live in knitwear & this knitted dress with batwing sleeves looks so cosy & stylish. Perfect for wearing under a wintercoat or dressing up with a biker for a night out. A great simple yet elegant piece.
One of Hush's regular Autumn/Winter pieces is their Eskimo parka & this season they're doing it in all black or khaki with navy fur trim. I have last year's khaki & maroon offering & can vouch for how cosy & warm this coat really is. I can't even begin to describe the feeling of putting this on in the depths of winter & feeling the luxuriousness of the faux fur lining. Seriously it has to be tried to be believed & is something I would certainly hate to be parted from.
Keeping with winter coats & I'm loving this winter white single breasted beauty. The question is are you brave enough to wear such a colour or would you like me be paranoid of make up & sitting down?!
Now scarves are a definite 'must have' in my wardrobe & the thicker & snugglier the better as it means I can wear my biker jacket & blazers in the middle of winter provided I've got enough layers on. I just love the look of this classic scarf & think it would be one of those items you would wonder how you ever managed without.
Another trend set to be big this season is stars & who can resist a star sweatshirt? I just love how Hush have styled it in the above image with the pinstripe trousers for a smarter laid back vibe.
And finally finishing as I started with some more leopard print. For those of us who love a bit of 'Bet' then these tracksuit bottoms are perfection & really would be bringing a new meaning to loungewear - love, love, love.
Back to today & I've wearing their new leopard print shirt, which I've paired with their skinny biker style jeans.
Size wise I'm wearing a size 6 in the shirt, as generally I find I'm able to size down with Hush & the shirt has a relaxed fit which also helps. It has a great light weight feel but still falls beautifully & will also look fab with a lace cami underneath or even layered under some black knitwear come the colder months.
For the jeans I've also sized down as they've got a lovely give/stretch. I just love the 'biker' detailing to the front to make them feel that little bit more edgy. Plus they sit a little higher on the waist than normal jeans.
So ladies what are your thoughts? Do you see anything to tempt you to get clicking that button?! I could certainly go wild in the aisles & I haven't even shared with you my picks from the rest of their collection......I'm off to investigate further!
Have a fab day & I'll see you tomorrow. Plus Boden's mid season sale has just gone to up to 50% off all sale items - see here to get shopping!
Morning ladies, so today I want to introduce you to a new brand that has recently launched exclusively at John Lewis called Modern Rarity that is quite simply stunning.
I think the following images from the campaign show perfectly the brands ethos of timeless, premium quality, well designed wardrobe classics that are perfect for building an elegant & chic capsule wardrobe.
As I've mentioned in previous posts I don't think you can ever beat the thrill of the high street for those fashion led pieces that help transform wardrobe staples to current trends but as we get older there is a lot to be said for investing in timeless, luxurious pieces that are going to last a lifetime & quite simply look & make you feel amazing.
Nothing beats the feeling of wearing a well designed, beautifully cut piece of clothing & if styled correctly can make your whole outfit look a million dollars & of course we all know the virtue of investing in cashmere as the ultimate comfort & cosiness for colder months.
I think you will agree that the pieces I've picked would make a great capsule wardrobe & perfect for mixing with each other.
I've been lucky enough to have been able to choose a couple of pieces from the collection & the quality of the two items I have chosen are second to none. I've been looking for a grey lace camisole for ages as I wanted to be able to wear it underneath my mohair cardigan so when I spotted the camisole I knew instantly that it would fit perfectly in my wardrobe & after much deliberation for my second piece I decided on the knitted tunic as I think it's perfect for dressing down with denim, layering over a longline shirt not to mention dressing up with leather leggings for a laid back luxurious feel. Naturally I had to have a little trying on session & here's just a couple of ways I'll be wearing the pieces.
First off the knitted tunic, which I've layered over skinny cut off jeans & a longline white shirt.
So ladies what are you thoughts? Is it a range you can see yourself being tempted by & if so anything that's standing out for you at the moment? I've only featured a small selection of the brand so would definitely recommend you take a look at the full collection here & I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm keeping today's look nice & simple & going all black & breaking the look up a bit with the different textures & my stripes & studs. I just love this H&M pleated skirt, such an easy piece to wear & the pleats feel that little bit more girly when teamed with leather & my studded boots.
Hope everyone has a great day & I'll be back in the morning. Don't forget to take a peek at Boden's mid season sale, up to 40% off here!
I'm keeping today's look very simple for a busy day in the office & a mega long 'to do' list. So a simple boho top & jeans I can throw on with my new loafers is perfect.
Hope everyone has a fab day & a great start to the week & something to make Monday that little bit sweeter Boden have just launched their mid season sale, get up to 40% off here :-)
Morning ladies so today I thought it was time we had a look at one of the key trends for Autumn & something I find very hard to resist. Yup you've guessed it, I'm talking jackets & for today's purposes military jackets/coats. Something that I seem to be getting quite a collection of :-0
As you know I love a jacket (or two) especially a classic blazer but in my opinion a military styled jacket or coat is fast becoming a classic wardrobe 'must have'. I blame the button detailing - who can resist a shining row of brass buttons?! I know I certainly can't & as someone that generally doesn't wear a lot of patterns or bright colours that extra bit of detailing you find on a military jacket is just perfect for adding some interest & individuality to the simplest of looks.
Pair with a simple tee, loose fit jeans & trainers for everyday or dress up with wax effect trousers & a high necked ruffle blouse & heels for evening. You can even throw a cropped military jacket over a maxi dress or how about with another of this season's 'must haves' a pleated midi skirt. Like I say a definite 'must have'.
Likewise come winter a military coat will stand you in good stead & be perfect for throwing over most things.
Of course we all know if you see a coat you like, even if it's not remotely coat wearing weather you should grab it, so I've also included a few beauties in today's temptations, one of which I've already secured & is waiting patiently to wear. I will of course feature coats in more details over the coming weeks but the one's above are just to gorgeous not to share with you now. Just click on any of the above images for further details.
Now before I share with you what I'm wearing today, I had a lot of love for the blouse I was wearing last night. So for anyone who was wanting details or didn't see the picture over on Instagram here it is.
So ladies what are your thoughts on the military trend is it a yay or nay from you? Will you be standing to attention this season or are you quick marching away from all things military as fast as you can?!
As always I'd love to hear your thoughts & comments.
Happy Saturday ladies. It's an early start for me this morning for a breakfast meeting followed by a normal Saturday of errands, karate run & 'to do' lists. Then it's quiz night with friends in the village this evening.
So I'm keeping things nice & simples & going for an all blue theme today & teaming a leopard print scarf with my leather biker, distressed jeans & ballet pumps.
Anyone up to anything special this weekend? Whatever you're up to have a fab day & I'll see you in the morning.
Morning ladies now before I get onto what I'm wearing today I just had to share with you this image of Alex Jones pictured this week in the press. As soon as I saw the blouse it was love at first sight but I'd presumed it might have been designer, so you can image my delight when I discovered the blouse was from the high street :-) I don't know about you but I just love it so much that I've already ordered it & am awaiting delivery!
For me it's the perfect blouse for dressing down with distressed boyfriend jeans for day, wearing under a blazer or biker jacket & will equally look fab with coated jeans & heels for an evening. In fact I love how Alex is wearing hers so as well as linking to the blouse I've also included links to similar items above to recreate the how look.
Back to today & I'm teaming my new cropped wide leg trousers with this fab Zara jacket. I can see both of these items proving to be real wardrobe staples over the coming months & I'm definitely loving the slightly cooler weather so I can bring some of my jackets out to play.
You've just got to love that Friday feeling - not long till wine o'clock & I'm determined to have a clear desk before clocking off time!
Have a fab day & I'll see you in the morning. Oh & before I leave you there's another mid season sale over at Joules click here to get shopping!
