Happy Tuesday ladies, so before I share with you what I'm wearing today I wanted to let you know about a special event that is just perfect for anyone who loves fashion & lingerie. I'm joining forces with Sipsey Lingerie to host a ladies afternoon of fashion, beauty & lingerie in their Solihull boutique. With beauty & fashion tips as well as champagne & nibbles the event is a friendly & informal event that's aimed at anyone who loves fashion. I'd love to see you there, so if you're free on Saturday the 25th of February between 4-6:30 pm why not come along. To secure your ticket just click here but be warned spaces are limited so to avoid disappointment don't delay in clicking. Plus for anyone who doesn't live locally & hasn't visited Solihull it's a great venue for a day of shopping so why not plan a day out with a friend.
Back to today & I'm bringing out some wardrobe favourites today & styling a military jacket with my ever useful grey cashmere polo neck, skinny jeans & grey ankle boots, which have probably been my best buy of the season in terms of cost per wear!
Morning ladies from the moment I saw this picture of Louise Redknapp I just knew it would make a fab style steal. We've all probably got most, if not all of the above in our wardrobe & it's a great way of showing how with the addition of a couple of 'on trend' pieces wardrobe classics can be brought bang on trend. Plus if you're anything like me & love grey it's a fab colour combo too :-)
So let's get on with how to re-create the look with finds off the high street.
I'm starting with the jacket & something I've featured before on the site & that's this fab khaki military jacket that is perfect for layering up with knitwear & cashmere at this time of year but will equally look fab with a simple tee or cami underneath come the warmer months.
You'll no doubt have noticed just how useful I find a grey scarf (a real wardrobe neutral) so if it's something your wardrobe is lacking I'd highly recommend it & if possible I'd say invest in cashmere, such as this one. Beautifully soft, cosy & most importantly warm, it really is timeless, you'll easily get your cost per wear right down within a matter of weeks I promise. Although if you don't want to spend that many pennies on an accessory this scarf below is a great alternative.
Moving onto the jumper next & again if the bank balance allows I'd recommend investing in a timeless polo neck jumper - perfect for layering & something you can bring out year after year. This slouchy cashmere version looks gorgeous but I've also found a more purse friendly option below to.
Moving onto the trousers next & you can't go wrong with these timeless flannel cropped numbers perfect for dressing up or down no matter what the occasion.
So ladies what are your thoughts on Louise's outfit. Is it something you could see yourself wearing with a few tweaks? Perhaps like me you already own similar pieces & it's a look you're planning on re-creating. Or perhaps you just don't get my huge love affair with grey. As always I love reading your comments & thoughts.
Here's to an enjoyable & restful Sunday recharging the batteries for the week ahead.
Morning ladies & happy Saturday. So before we get onto what I'm wearing today I just had to share with you a sneaky new purchase. Now we all know I love a splash of 'Bet', so when I spotted these leopard print sports leggings - well that button was clicked in an instant & having taken delivery of them I can confirm they're a definite keeper. Yup needless to say I totally love them & they're bound to put a smile on my face whether I'm dragging them out of the cupboard for running at 5:30 of a morning or wearing them for pilates they're going to put a large smile on my face.
Back to today & I'm going for a pretty in pink theme by bringing out my pink pussy bow blouse to team with my knitted jacket & jeans.
A normal Saturday here & I don't know about you but I can't wait to crash on the sofa later - after a busy week it's time to start re-charging the old batteries.
I most certainly have as I've got a day off work today & I'm heading to a friends house for a day of mosaics, chatter & giggles & whilst I've never had a go at mosaics I do love crafting in general so I'm really excited at the thought of hopefully learning a new skill.
I'm keeping today's outfit really simple & layering an oversized jumper over my high neck ruffle shirt & faux leather trousers & of course I'll also be throwing on an apron when we're crafting!
Last day of Boden's 20% off & it's the turn of all tops & tees. To grab the discount simply click here & use code 6T2C at checkout.
Morning ladies as you know I just love that Thursday feeling with only one more sleep until the start of the weekend. So in celebration of my favourite day of the week I'm breaking out a sales bargain of a blazer that would have been rude to leave behind. Reduced from £119.99 to £29.99 this oversized blazer is something a little bit different & reminds me of my teenage years of when my jacket obsession began & I wore men's blazers with jeans.
This oversized trend looks like it's going to be big for Spring & I can really see this working with that Marks & Spencer Mesh Skirt with a simple tee & either ballet pumps or court shoes. Unfortunately the Zara one has now disappeared online but the one I've featured above is a fab alternative.
Finally it's 20% off all trousers, skirts, shoes & accessories today at Boden. Simply click here to get shopping & don't forget to use code 6T2C at checkout.
Have a lovely day ladies & I'll see you in the morning.
Morning ladies seeing as we're fast approaching the end of January, I thought it would be fun to share with you some pictures from Laura Ashley's press day, which I attended back in November & show you what they have in store for us over the coming months.
You may recall that I've featured their AW16 collection here & over the past few months I've found my grey wrap coat so useful for throwing on over most outfits - smart or casual that it's fast earnt a place in my wardrobe & replaced a few old coatigans.
As I mentioned in my previous post Laura Ashley is definitely worth keeping on your radar for timeless, well made pieces & for fellow ruffle & lace lovers you'll see from the snaps I took at their press day there's lots coming into store to keep us happy.
In fact there's already a few new in pieces that are catching my eye starting with this stunning pintuck tuck lace blouse. Just perfect for teaming with boyfriend jeans, an oversized cardi & trainers for a casual every day look or paired with a biker jacket, heels & cigarette pants for a smarter occasion.
I also love the idea of this knitted ruffle dress - perfect for pairing with ankle boots & a biker jacket not to mention so cosy & easy to wear during these cold & dark days.
Then of course there's this knitted jacket, which will totally come into it's own during the warmer months. Perfect for dressing up as much as down, you just can't beat this style of jacket worn over a simple tee with trainers & jeans.
You may have noticed in the collage above that this dress caught my eye at their press day. I just love the fray edge detailing & pretty scoop neckline. Plus it's such a great stylish take on an alternative to a denim dress.
Also how lovely is this suede across body bag - a great size for holding all the essentials plus ideal for injecting a little bit of colour & pairing with all the neutrals our wardrobes hold.
As I've already mentioned there's lots of temptations from their new collections already hitting their stores, in fact I've put together my top 10 picks of their latest drop below.
These next few photos were also taken at their press day & I thought I'd share them with you so you can see what Laura Ashley has in store for us in the coming months.
How pretty is all this lace detailing set to hit their stores later in the year. I'm already thinking the grey lace dress would be perfect for Ladies Day & firmly have my eye on the navy maxi dress for holidays.
Now I've been lucky enough to have been sent a couple of pieces from Laura Ashley to style & needless to say it was a hard decision deciding which two pieces to pick but in the end I picked the suede cross body bag. I don't know about you but I find cross body bags extremely useful to own, as who doesn't find it easier being hands free & like I say it's perfect for injecting new life into old winter favourites as you can see from the below images. It really does transform a plain grey outfit.
Me being me, the second piece I just couldn't say no to was their knitted jacket. As you all know by now I have a huge jacket weakness & this knitted beauty is perfect for dressing up or down. Plus it's such a lovely shade of blue it's ideal for teaming with all the greys, blacks & navys hanging in my wardrobe.
I'm actually wearing the jacket today & for it's first outing I just couldn't resist dressing it up by pairing it with my cropped kick flare navy trousers & lace detailed blouse & adding a leopard print bag for a bit of interest. Size wise I'm wearing an 8 & would say it's true to size.
So ladies have you spotted anything that takes your fancy? I must admit I'm seriously contemplating investing in the white pintuck blouse as I just love the idea of dressing this down for everyday & we all know you can never have enough white blouses/shirts can you, as they're just so useful! ;-) I'd love to know if you've spotted anything that takes your fancy.
Right I'm off to start the day. Happy Wednesday ladies, have a good one & as always I'll see you tomorrow. Plus if you've been waiting for a Boden discount code there's 20% off all knitwear & outerwear for today only. Just click here & use code 6T2C at checkout.
