Louise Redknapp

Zoe Ball

Morning ladies I thought we'd take inspiration from Louise Redknapp & Zoe Ball today who've both recently been photographed styling the every useful khaki shacket, with Louise showing a more pulled together tailored look & Zoe showing the perfect way to style it for a more casual vibe.

Needless to say we probably all know by now how useful this type of jacket is come those in between months in Spring & Autumn & many of us may even already have one hanging in our wardrobes.  Equally even when the weather turns, layered over some cashmere & a thermal it's surprising just how much use you can get out of something so simple.

So let's set about re-creating these lookings with finds off the high street, starting with Louise's look & the main item of the outfit the shacket.

Topshop Lightweight cotton shacket

It's difficult to tell from the picture what style of top Louise is wearing underneath but I love the idea of the below oversized tee, which is just perfect for creating a laid back vibe & would be one of those really useful items to have in your wardrobe.

Of course you can never go wrong with a classic so a simple tan belt will always earn it's keep & personally I prefer a darker shade of tan to the one Louise is wearing, like the one below.

Then for the trousers how about these cropped kick flares?  In fact I not only love the trousers but I love everything about the whole look & will definitely be re-creating this with similar pieces hanging in my wardrobe.  If you've not yet given cropped kick flares a try you must.  I started with the one pair & seem to have fallen head over heels in love with them & now wear this style more than my cigarette pants.

And for the shoes I've gone with the ever classic loafer style but not backless like Louise's.  Again a flat leopard print shoe is a real wardrobe classic & something if you don't already own you'll find yourself reaching for time & time again.

So that's how I'd re-create Louise's style, here's how I'd replicate Zoe's.

Starting with the shacket & the below beauty looks a little more tailored & of a thicker weight fabric than the one I've featured at the start of the post, so it may appeal more to anyone who wants to wear theirs come the colder weather.

Next Khaki Utility Jacket

Motif & slogan tops/jumpers aren't going any where this season so if you're tempted it's definitely a good time to dip your toe in the trend.  I'm loving the look of the one below, which could so easily also be teamed with a leather biker jacket not to mention a blazer for a smarter look.

Then for the jeans I'm really loving these faded cropped ones.  Perfect for wearing with flats whilst the weather is good but equally can easily can still be worn with flats in the winter by teaming with pop socks or block heeled ankle boots come the cooler months.

Straight Lonnie Jeans

Now I can't see what kind of trainers Zoe is wearing in the picture but I love the look of the ones below & that little bit of bling & glitter would certainly lift & bring the whole look together.

Hush Galaxy trainers

Back to today & I'm wearing a simple look of white & denim with a dash of tassels.

So ladies what are your thoughts on the shacket?  Is it something you've already invested in & couldn't do without or is it something that you've had in your wish list & still hovering over the 'buy me' button?  How about the two looks, do you have a preference or can  you see yourself wearing both looks for different occasions?  As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't forget there's currently 20% off plus free delivery & returns over at Boden.  Just click here & remember to use code NF86 at the checkout :-)  You can see some of my top picks from their new collection here.

Have a great day ladies & I'll see you in morning.

    1. Thanks so much Lucinda, it adds a fab pop of colour to a neutral look & of course I can't resist a tassel or two ;-)
