Some New Beauty Buys + WIW

the bio body brush

Morning ladies I thought today I'd take the opportunity to update you on a few new beauty products I've recently invested in that are already earning their keep.

First after suffering with ingrowing hairs on my legs for many years & exfoliating being of little to no help I've finally taken the plunge & invested in a body brush.  Something that I've read many times is not only supposed to help the problem but is also extremely good for circulation, de-toxing & the general appearance of your skin & what eventually sold me on the above brush was unlike many on the market it doesn't have a long handle so makes storage easier & instead fits neatly into the palm of your hand.

Now I'm not currently using it as I'm desperately trying to hold onto my tan for as long as possible  but I did use it for a couple of weeks prior to going away & I have to say I couldn't believe how smooth my skin felt.  Plus it really doesn't take too much time to do & neither did I find it painful.  Obviously I haven't used the brush long enough to get the full impact but I'm definitely going to be continuing & incorporating into my weekly regime as from the small results I've seen I think it's going to be worth the effort.

marks and spencer hydro cool firming eye gels

Now I don't know about you but the older I get the longer I seem to be spend on skincare & fighting the signs of aging so when I spotted these hydra cool eye gels I thought they'd be worth trying having in the past been impressed by something similar at Elemis, that are a lot more expensive.

If you've not tried eye gels before then they're definitely worth a go.  I love the cooling effect especially when my eyes feel tired & these certainly seem to help in terms of improving my eye's appearance & acting as a quick 'pick me up'.  I generally try & use these once a week, normally on a Sunday when I'm relaxing on the sofa & although they're supposed to just be left on for 10 minutes I tend to keep them on for a good half an hour as I find them so relaxing & that little bit indulgent.

Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint In Bare Popsicle

Prior to going on holiday this year I decided to invest in the above tinted moisturing lipstick.  Firstly because I'm lazy & can't be bothered to wear make up when going down to breakfast so a light lip covering tends to help make my face look that little bit more alive & secondly because I always suffer with cracked lips in the heat.  In the past no matter which lip salve or protector I've tried I've still suffered with painful splits.

However, I pleased to report that having used this whilst in Majorca in temperatures hotter than we've previously experienced my lips didn't split once :-)  Plus the tint gave a good coverage, with a lovely soft colour that was ideal for wearing with no make up & had a lovely high shine.  The only thing I did find was that it was quite soft so I tended to keep the lipstick in the minibar in our room so it didn't melt & to be honest apart from re-applying a second time during the day it wasn't a problem as it had good staying power.   So much so I shall definitely make sure I have this to hand take on future holidays.

Compeed Anti-Blister Stick

Another good holiday purchase, that we stumbled across a couple of years ago is the above anti-blister stick.  Perfect for stopping any rubbing from your shoes due to swollen feet but equally ideal for apply when wearing new shoes back at home.

Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster For Face

Now I've mentioned these next two products many times before as they're part of my weekly routine, which you can see in full here, but they're absolutely brilliant at keeping the holiday tan going.  After working so hard at getting a tan it's amazing how quickly it begins to fade as soon as you stop being in the sun but by adding a few drops of this to your aftersun/moisturiser it certainly helps keep the tan going that little bit longer.

Finally, something for all beauty lovers who love trying & discovering new products is the below natural edition summer kit I've been sent by Beauty Expert.

The beauty expert natural edition

A real must have if you fancy trying some new natural skin products, which comes beautifully presented in a vanity case that contains everything from cleansing foam to a hydrating quinoa & avocado beauty infusion, which is just perfect for replenishing & rejuvenating sun drenched skin, to a lightweight luxury leave-in hair treatment.  And the best bit is that in total the products cost £170 but when bought here it's yours for only £50!

I've just started using the Omorovicza cleansing foam & AromaWorks absolute eye serum, which smells devine & plan on re-hydrating my skin with Skin Authority's Quinoa & Avocado Beauty Infusion, although I haven't yet managed to try the Philip B Maui Wowie as this seems to have taken up residence in my son's bathroom!

If you've not heard of Beauty Expert they're an online retailer who offer a wide range of worldwide luxury products together with advice via their online magazine.  So definitely worth checking out, you can see a full list of all the brands they stock here.

Back to today & for a quiet Sunday at home today's look is all about the sweatshirt.

So ladies that's my update on new beauty products that have made it into my weekly routine.  One thing I also purchased on holiday was the eye cream from the range of hyaluronic gel & retinol cream that I sell but I've yet to try this so will report back on that at a later date.

How about you?  Any new products that you swear by & want to share?  I'd love to hear if there are.

Enjoy your Sunday ladies & I'll be back as always in the morning.

  1. Hi Jane,
can you please tell me what size the sweater is?
I ❤️ NY, and would like to buy the sweater, but have little experience with Jcrew sizing.

    Thanx! Sophie

    1. Hi Sophie I'm wearing an XS & I'm generally a UK8 & would say it's pretty true to size. However, if you want a more looser fit it might be worth sizing up. Also just to let you know the sleeves are more of a bracelet length finish.
      Hope this helps.

    1. Hi Linda the retinol cream coats £35.95 plus postage. It's actually a triple retinol cream that's produced by a local pharmacist I know so unfortunately it's not something you could get in Tenerife, although you might find something similar. If you want any further details just email me.
