Morning ladies today I want to introduce you to a new brand - Italy In Cashmere. Who began some 36 years ago from their base near Florence in Tuscany, with the aim to create:

What's unusual for a brand these days is the company isn't solely driven by profit, as together with maintaining their origins they ensure their strong ethical principles are represented by sourcing all materials within the European community, as well as striving to be environmentally friendly & sourcing quality materials from mainly family run businesses.
I was recently approached by the brand to see if I would be interested in review & styling some of their products & having been converted a couple of years ago to the benefits of cashmere (seriously if you haven't tried it you must!) then I was keen to see & feel for myself the quality & style.
Before I show you the pieces I picked to review & how I've styled them I wanted to talk cashmere in general. As I've just mentioned I'm a huge convert but prior to this I'd see people raving about cashmere take a look at the price & think are they mad?! Having worn cashmere over the past two winters I can hand on heart say they're not! Why? Well firstly wearing cashmere really does have a huge element of luxury. Plus it's so cosy & soft that it's perfect for those cold winter mornings we all know are just round the corner. For me it's like giving yourself a virtual hug. On top of this & this is a huge plus cashmere has a brilliant temperature regulation property, which allows you to maintain an unchanged body temperature in all weathers. Meaning that instead of throwing on a chunky knit that perhaps makes you feel a little frump & dumpy not to mention potentially itches, you can instead just pull on a cashmere jumper & not feel as if you've put on a stone on in weight & also due to it's lightness you can still wear it under a tailored jacket. In the depths of winter I find a thermal vest & a cashmere jumper keep me perfectly toasty without the need to bulk up. Yes I know the price of a cashmere jumper is more than say a merino wool one but these days it doesn't have to cost a fortune & personally I'd rather have less jumpers to wear & know they're not only going to keep me warm but look & feel good too. Firstly I wanted to compare an item I already own & swear by & that's the cashmere wrist warmers. I love these more than gloves as you can still use your phone without having to have a cold hand & when worn under a biker jacket or blazer I really like the extra detailing it gives to an outfit seeing these peek out from under the sleeve.

As you can see from the above image Italy In Cashmere's wrist warmers are a great length & the cable knit detailing gives them that little bit of added interest. As you would expect with 100% cashmere these wrist warmers are incredibly soft but the one thing I did notice compared to similar ones I own are that these are a lot thicker & more luxurious.
Along with the wrist warmers I choose to style one of their ponchos. Not something I would generally wear as I hate cold arms but the idea always appeals & I thought that seeing as their wrist warmers are such a great length this would make the perfect combination & also avoid cold arms :-)

As you can see from the above images my idea of teaming the wrist warmers with the poncho works perfectly & would ensure you're kept nice & toasty. The roll neck poncho is the perfect weight - not too thin nor bulky & the roll neck actually stays in place & doesn't collapse like some thinner knits can plus there's enough give to ensure you can take the poncho on & off without worrying about removing half your make up on the neckline - which if you're wearing a light colour such as the one above is very important!
The next item I wanted to style was their oversized batwing sweater. I just love this style of jumper. Teamed with boyfriend jeans it makes the casual outfit for days at home whilst still feeling like you've made an effort. Or can even be teamed with skinny jeans & heels not to mention a maxi skirt & trainers.

Seeing as this is my favourite kind of jumper I had to choose it in my favourite colour of light grey. A colour you've probably noticed I wear a lot, in fact my grey jumper collection is probably larger than my pretty white top one :-0
You can see from the above pictures that I've styled the batwing jumper with my turn up boyfriend jeans, an oversized grey scarf that just so happens to match & to create a little more shape I've tucked a small amount of the jumper at the centre into my waistband. Like I've already said this has to be one of my favourite styles as it's just perfect for creating a relaxed glamour look.
The final piece I chose to style was their duster cardigan. Something I find to be a great wardrobe staple this time of year. Whether it's styled with skinny jeans or worn with a short 'A' line skirt this style of knit is perfect way of adding an extra layer & looks so pretty when teamed with a statement lace top.

It's also ideal for styling with a pair of leather leggings & makes a great alternative to a blazer or longline jacket. As you can see from the photos above I've kept the styling quite simple & neutral & added a splash of red & pop of leopard print for a little extra detailing.
So what do I think of Italy in Cashmere in terms of quality, products & design? Well I love all the items I've tried. All the pieces sent to me to review & style were of great quality & the cashmere was a lovely soft thickness. Plus they all arrived beautifully packaged & despite being a little worried that due to there only being the one size in their tops none of the items felt too oversized or like they were swamping me, which can sometimes be the case with brands that only offer the one size. Plus I loved the fact that the items I tried were a little different in look to the cashmere you get on the high street. I really loved the longer length to their wrist warmers, which is particularly handy if you're pairing with a poncho & the shorter sleeves on both the cardigan & batwing jumper gave more style to pieces that could of perhaps felt too boxy & oversized.
