Morning ladies I'm bringing out my new cropped wide legged jeans again today & keeping the look really simple by teaming them with a khaki shirt & my statement cat flats. Which I will layer with a biker jacket & cashmere scarf when venturing outside as it's rather chilly out there.
These wide legged jeans are going to prove a firm wardrobe favourite, which I'm looking forward to teaming with one of my cropped jackets, breton & ballet pumps for a more classic look over the coming season.
So how's everyone's Tuesday looking? It's a busy day of work & pilates for me, so I must get on. Enjoy your Tuesday & don't forget the pancakes :-)
Morning ladies - I don't know about you but the weekend seems to have whizzed by, not to mention this month!
I'm starting the week with some good old wardrobe classics that I may or may not layer up with a scarf when I step outside depending on if it's raining by then as it was pretty mild whilst running this morning. Sometimes you just can't go wrong with monochrome & some classic tailored pieces, can you?!
Here's to a fabulous start to the week for us all & just remember if you're day doesn't quite go to plan it won't be as bad as Warren Beatty's ;-)
Morning ladies today I'm looking ahead to next season & some new into store picks.
Now I was recently challenged by Marks & Spencer to pick my favourite 5 pieces from their latest collection & the above 5 items are the items that made my final top 5. All strong wardrobe staples that are quite timeless in their design but equally are perfect for breathing some new life into our old wardrobe staples, not to mention ideal for mixing & matching.
Needless to say I've had a quick trying on session to show you how I'd style them. So first up is this stunning frill detailed jumper, that's a really great price & also available in white. Size wise I'd say it's true to size as I'm wearing my normal size (UK 8) & although not long in the body it's not too cropped either that you have to worry about exposing any unwanted mum tum. In terms of weight it's also a lovely light knit that really surprised me in terms of the quality as because of the price I was expecting it to be more of t-shirt than jumper but like I say it's a fab little jumper that will just be perfect for spring & summer.
Moving onto the wide legged jeans next. These were definitely love at first sight as I love the idea of a smarter pair of jeans that are more fitted & cut to flatter. In terms of size I'm wearing the regular length & I'm 5'7" so unless you're super tall I would advise staying with this length as they are the perfect length & fall just above the ankle bone. I originally ordered a size 8 (my normal size) but after trying them on & due to the small percentage of elastane I decided to size down to allow for that bit of stretch once they've initially been put on as I want them to be fitted on my waist & not drop to further down my hips.
For my trying on session I've kept the look really simple by stying with a classic fitted white shirt & trainers & accessorised with another of my top picks the Polka Dot Scarf. But equally they're going to be perfect for styling with a simple cami, lace top or even a lightweight jumper or breton. I'm also looking forward to wearing them with a biker jacket or one of my smarter cropped jackets not to mention a simple trench.
The scarf is also a great way of incorporating a little Parisian chic into your wardrobe & equally will look fab teamed with a breton for a spot of pattern clashing. Plus of course it can be worn tied on your wrist as something a little bit different to a bracelet provided of course you've got a willing pair of hands to tie it for you!
I think most of us will agree we can never have enough black dresses hanging in our wardrobes & this pretty black cotton broderie dress is perfect for the coming summer months. I'm wearing the regular length & it's a lovely midi length - not too short to be unflattering on my calfs & not to long it can't be worn casually during the day. Layer it up with tights, ankle boots & a biker jacket while the temperatures are cool then team with some simple understated flat sandals & a panama hat come holiday time. Or even dress it up by adding a belt for definition with some statement heeled sandals & a pop of colour with a clutch for date night.
I'll share with you my 5th choice in a bit as I'm actually wearing the item today but before I do I thought you might like to see my top 9 picks that made it onto my short list.
Back to today & my final choice, which is this stunning longline silk shirt. I was sold as soon as I spotted the colour, which is a completely beautiful shade of pink - a colour that's set to be huge all next season. I chose my normal size & I'm really pleased with how it fits - fitted but not too tight so it has a slightly oversized feel about it, which is just perfect for teaming with jeans on a casual day.
Now I was a little worried that because the shirt is long in length it would be too long to tuck into trousers without showing the excess bulk but it's not provided you make sure when you tuck it in the fabric falls flat against your body. Equally you could easily just unbutton the last few buttons at the bottom & loosely tie them instead of tucking in if you want to create a different look to when wearing loose with leggings or skinny jeans.
I'm pairing the shirt with some distressed cigarette length jeans today but equally this colour looks stunning when worn against light blue denim, navy, white & grey & is ideal for adding that much needed pop of colour to your wardrobe. Plus being silk it just has that added splash of luxury & style.
So ladies what are your thoughts on Marks' new collection? Do you see anything that gets you wanting to 'click that button'. As I've mentioned in the past they really do have some great pieces coming through this season so are definitely a store to keep an eye on. In fact I've just spotted this beauty & have 'clicked that button' instantly!
Enjoy your Sunday ladies & as always I love hearing your thoughts & comments.

Morning ladies. It's a simple kind of Saturday for us - no karate run as it's half term week, so we're just enjoying the luxury of a quiet & lazy morning at home getting a few things sorted & ticked off the list.
Popping out later to hit a localish Chinese supermarket to stock up on supplies & I think fingers crossed our son is planning on cooking Chinese tonight - I can't wait Chinese food has to be one of my favourites & of course it tastes even better if it's cooked for you :-)
I don't know about you but when normal commitments have a break for the school holidays, I always find it feels like a real luxury not to have to clock watch on a day that's usually a little manic.
So a simple outfit for a simple Saturday & I'm breaking out some new Finery boots - comfy, flat & fitted on the ankle with a little bit of detailing for me equals a real winner :-)
Enjoy your day ladies & I'll be back in the morning. In the meantime don't forget it's the last day to grab 15% off over at Boden. Just click here, just use code 6T2C at the checkout & for inspiration you can see my edit from their latest collection here.
Morning ladies before I share what I'm wearing today I just wanted to let you know about a fab & cheap eyebrow filler that is incredibly easy to use & does the job perfectly. I don't know about you but I'm always a little hesitant to use powder to shape & fill my eyebrows in the worry that they'll look over done & that you'll see my eyebrows enter the room before me but this beauty is honestly so easy to use. You literally just give it a shake & apply straight on to your brows.
Available in 4 different shades I went for the second lightest & even on my dark brows it's a pretty good match. Plus you can also use it on your lower & upper lash lines for an easy smokey look & the best bit is it doesn't cost a fortune :-)
Back to today & it's a simple all blue look for me today & I'm dressing down my knitted Laura Ashley jacket with a simple tee, jeans & a dash of 'Bet'.
Lots to do before the weekend so I'd better crack on. Hope everyone has a fab day & here's to wine o'clock :-)
See you all in the morning & if you missed Boden's 20% off offer don't panic, you can still get 15% off by clicking here & using code 6T2C at the checkout. It's more of my favourite colour combo today & this time I'm breaking out a high neck frill collared blouse & pairing it with my cropped kick flare sailor pants, a grey blazer & dressing the look down by throwing on some trainers.
A quick reminder that it's the last day to grab 20% off at Boden, so if you've been meaning to take advantage of the saving click here & use code 6T2C at checkout. You can see my edit from their latest collection here if you're looking for some inspiration.
Have a fab day & fingers crossed you don't get blown around too much by storm Doris - I've already got a soaking on my morning run so hoping to dodge the storm for the rest of the day!
I just love that one more sleep until the weekend feeling :-) See you in the morning.
Morning ladies as soon as I saw this image of Sarah Jessica Parker I just knew it would make the perfect style steal. I mean who doesn't love the combo of stripes & denim not to mention various shades of blue?!
Naturally the pieces SJP is wearing aren't going to be found on the high street & let's be honest no matter how stunning the top is it's probably a little too low cut & fussy for everyday life so with this in mind here's how I'd interpret the look for us mere mortals who don't live quite such a glamorous life as SJP does.
Starting with the top. Ok so this doesn't create quite so much of a statement but it's definitely more versatile & one that could be worn day or evening. Plus I'm thinking if you swapped the tie belt for a leather wrap such as this & added a statement necklace such as this one, it would look stunning. This blouse is also another fab alternative but for me I think it's a little to cropped & would end up sitting in my wardrobe, as I'd rather have something that comfortably passes the waistband of my jeans.
Talking of jeans & I'm liking the look of these. Such a gorgeous shade of denim, I think these would prove great wardrobe staples come the warmer months & would look stunning teamed with a white lace top or even a simple 'V' neck tee.
So far so good & the previous items haven't been expensive purchases......that is until now! Brace yourselves ladies I've just taken a peek at Sarah Jessica Parker's shoe collection (see it here) & come across the actual sparkly shoes in the picture.
And I suppose if you were working on the lines of quality over quantity then an investment in a pair of these timeless & statement beauties would be ideal for all those occasions where you need a pair of heels. Funnily enough I was having this conversation with my mum the other day & saying that for me I just can't be doing with wearing shoes/boots that aren't 100% comfortable & that if you think of the handful of times you need to wear a pair of heels it's almost worth clearing out your wardrobe of all your current ones & selling them on eBay & then investing in 1 good pair that will last a lifetime, never date & be a lot more comfortable than probably the 10 pairs you've got at the bottom of your wardrobe & so much more likely to be bought out for special occasions. Anyone following my logic here, or am I just building up to justify a special purchase with the hubby?!! ;-)
Or alternatively if you don't want to break the bank &/or walk around in too high a heel what about these beauties? Now these are seriously tempting me to clear out all my heels in favour of 'clicking the button' - love, love, love!
Back to today & I'm breaking out my new jacket, which is all about the frill detailing. I've kept the rest of my outfit really neutral so the jacket does the talking & whilst today's look is quite smart I'm also really looking forward to styling the jacket with a simple breton & jeans.
So ladies what do you think? Are you loving Sarah Jessica Parker's style in the above image & is it something you'd like to steal or recreate with similar pieces in your wardrobe? And what are your thoughts on clearing out & selling all your old heels for one special & comfy pair that you can enjoy bringing out to play time & time again? Plus I'd love to hear what you think of SJP's shoes designs do you likey?!
Happy hump day. Have a great day & as always I'll see you in the morning. In the meantime don't forget Boden have 20% off everything here, just use code 6T2C at the checkout & for inspiration you can see my edit from their latest collection here.
It's a simple outfit from me today, with a jeans & knitwear combo finished off with a statement jacket, a cashmere scarf & those ever useful boots again! Simple & easy for a busy day ahead.
Hope everyone has a fab day & as always I'll see you in the morning.
