WIWT - A Polo Neck With My Biker

A normal Saturday for us - errands, a bit of fresh food shopping for treats this weekend & of course the karate run.

Keeping things simple with my Primark polo neck & teaming it with my Zara biker, although depending on what happens with the weather I may have to change the shoes for boots - we woke to an inch of snow but rain seems to have cleared most of it & we now have the sunshine but I think there's a small possibility of some more snow!

New Outfit Post - Faux Fur & Ripped Denim

So how's everyone doing snow wise?!!  Despite it snowing quite a lot of yesterday it didn't really do much damage here :-(  Although there was one point where it looked like it was going to come down in bucket loads so frantic texts to the hubby were sent warning he might have to make a hasty retreat from work as he was about an hour & a half away but then the sun came out!!

This morning we've got just a covering in places but boy was it cold & slippy in parts when out on my morning run & despite wearing extra thick running gloves I had to run my fingers under the tap when I got home as the pain in my fingertips was awful :-(  So layering up today in my Mint Velvet gilet & Primark polo neck & teaming them with my ripped skinny jeans.

Celebrity Style Steal - Louise Redknapp & WIWT

As soon as I saw this picture of Louise I just knew it would make a great style steal as not only is the outfit perfect for dressing up or down, it's made up of wardrobe basics that a lot of us will have similar to hanging in our wardrobe & if we don't then they'd be great staples to invest in.

First up here's Louise looking effortlessly cool & stylish.  I just love everything about this outfit & it could so easily be dressed down with some chunky ankle boots & a blanket scarf for everyday.

So let's get stealing her style.  Starting with the biker jacket.  How fab does this Mango one look for just under £60?!  I have to say I'm loving my biker jacket that I picked up for a fraction of the price last summer while in Majorca.  Great for dressing up or down & it really does go with everything from maxi skirts to shirt dresses, capri trousers to distressed jeans - a real wardrobe staple if ever there was one.

For the jumper I've picked this long 'V' neck one from Woolovers.  I have the hot pink version of this & love it, as not only is it a great length it has a lovely neckline too.  Now I know it looks a bit old fashioned in the below picture but seriously when my Gap one needs replacing I'll be getting one of these babies as I've been really impressed with mine.

Now I just love this horn pendant necklace from Mango.  Very similar in design to the one I brought in Wallis a couple of months ago.  These necklaces are just perfect for layering with shorter, delicate ones & they seem to come into their own come the warmer months, I'm definitely adding this onto my items to investigate further!

For the pleated midi skirt this one from ASOS looks great.  Again a fab skirt to wear all year long.  I just love wearing mine in the summer teamed with a simple camisole top & necklace similar to the one above.

Turning to Louise's bag now &  I've gone for this great one from ASOS.  I just love the black teamed with the pinky/red suede & of course we all know how useful a clutch bag for a night out with the other half/girls can be.

And finally for the boots how about these from Next?!  I just love them - perfect for teaming with skirts, dresses or trousers & they really would go with anything.

Finally here's my outfit for today - back off to London for a meeting & I have an equal mixture of nerves & excitement but keeping my fingers crossed all goes well!

Of course another day in London equals another dilemma of what to wear........cue mucho trying on of clothes, a huge pile of discarded clothes on the floor & much raising of the eyebrows by the hubby & son as I whaled 'I don't have anything to wear!!' - me dramatic.....I don't think so ;-)

In the end I settled on this.

Shoes - Mint Velvet

Black & Grey

Poncho - Zara £25.99
Biker Jacket - Wallis £60

So what do you think?  Is this outfit that Louise is wearing a style you could see yourself wearing?  Perhaps you've already got most of these staples hanging up in your wardrobe & are tempted to give it a go?  As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Have a fab day & see you in the morning.  Oh & for today only it's 20% off all outerwear & knitwear at Boden click here!

My Picks From Boden's Spring Collection & WIWT

You may recall in a recent post I gave you a sneak preview of Boden's SS15 collection (see here) so today I thought I'd share with you my picks from their latest collection that are perfect for taking us into Spring & beyond.

Starting with something that's not new in but is back in stock in their sale & that's their leopard print clutch.  Now if you don't already own a Bet-tastic clutch then you really should consider in investing in one.  They go with everything, are a great way to jazz up the simplest of outfits, look fab with a spot of pattern clashing & are my 'go to' bag whenever I'm not sure which bag to use.  Plus they really are a style staple.

Talking of classic items for your wardrobe that are going to last then how gorgeous is this Westminster bag?  I'm just loving it in navy & think it would look fab teamed with a pom pom key ring to add that little bit of interest & individuality.

I'm also loving Boden's Milan Clutch too.  Available in four colours but my colour of choice just has to be the navy.

Now if you happened to, like me, miss out on the neon Hush scarf last summer then fear not as this Boden one looks quite similar.  I'm just loving the bobbly neon edging, which would be perfect for adding a splash of colour without being all out there & would look stunning when teamed with sun kissed skin - oh how I long to feel the warmth of the sun - it seems like its been a while doesn't it?!

Moving onto dresses now & I'm loving both the colours & patterns of this simple tunic dress.  Perfect for teaming with heels & a simple clutch for a night out or dressing down with flats & a boyfriend fit blazer for the day.

This next dress I spotted at Boden's press day & I haven't been able to get it out of my mind.  Who doesn't love a denim dress.  Perfect for layering with a biker, chunky boots & thick scarf till the weather warms up & then sandals & several necklaces & bracelets for a boho spring/summer look too.

Moving onto their jumpers now with this gorgeous striped number.  Needless to say I'm never going to have enough stripes in my wardrobe & I'm loving this grey & navy combo - classic, striped & so easy to wear - do I need anymore justification?!!

Turning to shoes & if you missed out on their leopard print slip ons that were available for a short time in the autumn then fear not as Boden have re-released them.  I have a pair of these babies (in fact it was on seeing these that eventually led me to the dark side of the slip on & I've never looked back!) & they seriously are soooo comfy not to mention stylish, I can't wait to start wearing mine more again come the better weather.

This next pair of shoes I think are going to be the Boden equivalent of their jewelled pumps from last season.  I just love these & with the heel being 8.5cm it's not too high for those of us who aren't too adapt at walking in skyscrapers & they even do them in a lower heel here.  The only problem is they're available in three stunning colours but I think the last pair are my favourites....any guesses why?!!

Moving onto tops & I'm just loving their Marion Top.  Available in several colours but I think the navy & orange combo is my favourite & perfect for injecting a bit of colour.

And finally how about this casual striped sweater?  Of course I'm loving the stripes but what I really love most is the dipped hem.  I think this would look fab teamed with some distressed boyfriend jeans & white trainers for a great stylish laid back look.

Finally here's my outfit for today - a nice quiet one at home.  After an early start for me making sure our son made his newspaper round, I've done the ironing, prepped the veg for lunch, made soup for in the week & the bread is baking in the bread maker (can't tell you how much we are loving this new purchase!) so time to start that Sunday chilling vibe!

Jumper - Zara
Jeans - Zara
Boots - Clarks

Double Denim

Shirt - Mango £44.99
Jumper - Boden £49
Jeans - Mango £44.99
Boots - Clarks Now £90

Before I go I'd love to hear what you think of my picks, do you see anything that tickles your fancy?!  I'm seriously drooling over all of it & there's still more beauties that are far too summery to think about yet plus lots of beauties from their press day that haven't even been released!  Temptations, temptations - so come on are you tempted to join me in clicking the button? I'd love to hear your thoughts.  Plus if you're tempted Boden are running a 20% off offer this week with today being 20% off all dresses & accessories click here to get the discount & follow me on Twitter (click here) to see which category is being discounted each day this week.

Right just the Sunday lunch to cook then I'm crashing in front of the fire - its a bubbles, film & chocolate kind of Sunday here & I can't wait!  Time to start re-charging the batteries for the week ahead!

Have a fab day.

New Outfit Post - Trainers & Tartan!

Wearing my new Mango trainers again today......can you tell I'm loving wearing them?!!  I just need them to loose their whiteness & then they'll be perfect!  I really think these are really going to come into their own in the Spring & I'm already planning outfits in my head.    So if like me you've dismissed white trainers then I would recommend trying on a pair or two as I'm delighted with mine & they are just so comfortable it's almost like you're walking on air!

Today I'm teaming them with some smart navy trousers which I've rolled up & a tartan shirt.
