Could Spring FINALLY be on it's way & London Purchases

Okay so I thought it was about time that I updated you on a couple of things mentioned in previous blogs.

Firstly I have yet to try out the toupee tape in my shoes – mainly because the weather hasn’t exactly been the kind of weather suitable for wearing heels – especially if you’re like me & accident-prone.  All I will say is I’m the only person I know to break their arm whilst tripping over a grave!!! Long story so don’t ask but in my defence I was only 5 at the time but this seems to have set the tone for future incidents hence the lack of heels over recent weeks!

Secondly the Next necklaces have arrived & I have to admit I was really disappointed in them.  Whilst they looked lovely & I loved the design, the overall quality was a bit ‘plastic’ when compared to my other necklaces.  On the plus side they were a lot cheaper than the others that I’ve brought, (in the £10 range as opposed to the £20-30 range) so if you’re looking for a cheap bit of bling & aren’t too bothered on the quality & longevity then they may just fit the bill.

Now despite the fact that we still have a considerable amount of snow about & that there was even snow in the air on Monday, today & yesterday have been beautiful be it cold days with glorious sunshine (I’d almost forgotten what it looked like!!!) with bright blue skies so maybe, just maybe spring might put in an appearance after all. So with this in mind I brought a couple of spring/summer additions whilst we were in London.

After the getting the nod & wink from a fellow fashion enthusiast that Banana Republic had an additional 30% off all sale & non-sale items, when we happened to pass a store near Covent Garden I just felt I HAD to pop in! They had some wonderful bargains in the clothes, jewellery & accessories departments but I was very good & restrained myself to just the one purchase!

And here is the latest addition to my ever increasing statement necklace collection.

I absolutely love this and the delicate shade of green, which will go with a whole heap of colours.  I’ve teamed it below with a white shirt and my new looser fit jeans.  What do you think?

Necklace - Banana Republic
Shirt - Zara
Jeans - Zara
Belt - Massimo Dutti
Bangle - Banana Republic
Ballet Shoes - Massimo Dutti

Now I seem to be developing a love of all things green especially the jade shade of green of my new  Zara Draped Top, so when I saw this skirt in Zara well I just simply had to try it and yes surprise, surprise it had me at hello!

I have to admit having seen this picture on Zara’s website I don’t think it does the skirt a whole heal of favours so here’s a picture of me wearing mine.

I also recently brought a gorgeous top from Boden.  Now I find anything with a stripe a real classic but love how Boden have mixed it up a bit & put delicate iridescent sequins over the blue stripes to make this a little different & as they’re iridescent the top doesn’t feel too dressy for daytime.  The top comes in four different colours and if money was no object I would be tempted to get all four.  Whilst this will go with most things, I can see me especially wearing it with greys, denim, blues, whites and also my sunglasses inducing red GAP 1969 Always Skinny Jeans.

Finishing with what I've been wearing the last couple of days.

Outfit One

Necklace - Zara
Jumper - Massimo Dutti
Jeans - M&S

Outfit Two

Necklace - Zara
Jumper - M&S
Belt - Zara
Jeans - Zara
Ballet Shoes - Majorca

And with that I will love you & leave you.  If you’re anything like me you will have eaten far toooo much chocolate over the last few days (although of course this could just be me – I’ve got a real lack of self will where chocolate is concerned) & we still have lots of Easter eggs to get through, so it looks as if I’ll have to develop some willpower to ensure I can still fit into these clothes!!!

Have a good couple of days x

  1. Love that necklace, I wouldn't have thought it so chunky from the pic. I'm going to finally invest in some chunky natural coral this year, I have been promising it to myself for ages and have been pretty abstemious all Winter so I think I can justify it!

  2. I love the green skirt - I saw that on the website but have absolutely no use for anything like that or else I would have been tempted. I love the gathered sleeve top too - I tried that on but medium was a little too roomy and I felt the small was just a bit snug on the hip line and I never even thought about tucking it in like you. Very chic.

    1. Thanks Sue. I can't wait for the weather to warm up & to be able to wear short sleeves and skirts without having to layer up underneath for warmth!

I am laughing so much at the Zara vs you in that skirt - you have to 'see beyond' the picture so often these days on the Zara website - I love it with the belt
