These Boots Were Made For Walking!!!

I can't quite believe it's so close to Christmas, which means there's one question that remains unanswered....no not have I made it onto Santa's good list (that's without question.....of course ;-) ) but are we going to have a white Christmas?!!  Even if the snow doesn't fall this Christmas, which let's face it is looking pretty unlikely (although I must admit I'd only want to be snowed in once I'd got the house bursting at the seams with food & as I say to our son best we get the bad weather after Christmas as then it means extra days off school ;-) can you tell I've put a lot of thought into this lol!!) we're bound to have a covering or two over the coming months & one thing I desperately need to invest in is a sturdy pair of boots that aren't going to see me falling arse over tits come the snow & ice but that more importantly look good too!

So when a couple of weeks ago Sports Direct got in touch asking if I'd like to review one of their products, I have to admit that my first thought was I'm not sure the world is ready to see me in full figure hugging lycra but what I hadn't realised was that not only do Sports Direct sell sportswear (obviously!!) but they also have a fashion outlet too, which like their sportswear offers clothing at heavily discounted prices.

Of course when I heard the words 'fashion outlet' I didn't need asking twice to take a peak & with my need for some new boots it wasn't long before I had lost myself in their boots section umming & ahhing over which ones to choose.  And after much debating I finally settled on these beauties.

Discounted from £199.99 to £75...can you believe it?!!!  Not only do these beauties remind me of another luxury pair (I'm thinking Dubarry) but for someone who struggles to stay upright, let alone look stylish come the snow & ice then these boots tick all the boxes for my mission to be warm & stylish come the arctic conditions.  And seeing as we live in a village that's situated slightly higher up to our surrounding areas not only do we tend to get snowed in we also tend to get a lot more snow that lasts a lot longer than most parts of the country, so they're going to be super useful too!

So onto said boots.  Not only are these beauties waterproof, windproof & breathable they're also extremely stylish.  Made from full grain & nubuck leather with a Phylon (whatever that is!!) midsole for cushioning PLUS a rugged rubber outsole for grip means even I should be able to stay upright!!

For me not only will these beauties be extremely useful come the bad weather I'm also going to live in them for dog walking.  We're lucky enough to live where we can walk from our home to some lovely woods, stopping off of course for some necessary refreshments along the way at the local pub, well it's important not to risk dehydration when exercising....no?!!! So my new boots now mean that I'm not going to stick out like a sore thumb as I try & blend in without drawing attention to my faded, muddy old wellies when we pop in for a glass of something cool & refreshing & instead can wear normal fashionable boots which have the advantage of keeping my tootsies warm & dry while my street cred remains intact too...win win :-)

Of course there is one problem & that is that they're soooo nice I don't want to get them dirty!!!

So did you know that Sports Direct also sold clothing other than sportswear?  And if so have you brought anything from them?  I have to say with the discounts on offer & my gorgeous new boots I will certainly be making a note to visit more often & not only for my lycra & hi-vis needs.

Finally here's a quick round up of what I've been wearing over the past few days.

If however, you are feeling a little frazzled then it might be time to partake in a little tipple or two.....well it certainly makes the wrapping & Christmas card writing a lot more fun in my view :-0

  7. They are so similar to Dubarry ones! It's hard to find a 'sensible' pair of winter boots that are both waterproof & warm...you will definitely get lots of wear out of them with the weather in this country! x
