What I've Been Buying & My Outfit Of The Day

Ok so as promised here's the first of my confessions on what seems to have 'miraculously' appeared in my wardrobe....I mean seriously this Shopping Fairy has a lot to answer for I can tell you!!! ;-)

Like a lot of us I don't actually need anything but when has that ever stopped us?!!! And with the hint of Spring in the air it's inevitable that it's going to lead to the odd purchase or two (used figuratively of course ;-) ).

So seeing as I don't 'need' anything I'm trying (said loosely of course!!!) to only buy items that are going to enhance the clothes already hanging in my wardrobe & bring new life to old tops & bottoms.  Of course I need a new jacket/blazer like I need a hole in the head but how could I resist this beauty?!!!  I did also manage to secure it with a 30% discount, which of course helped with the justification plus hubby if you're reading this then you know HOW much I wear my jackets (all year round in fact!) that I'm going to get my wear out it.  Plus of course it's a real classic design that's not going to date & my how I LURRRVE the gold edge detailing.....just think light distressed denim jeans, white shirt & ballet pumps - elegant,  classic & stylish all in one!

Now being of the mindset that a 30% discount should be taken full advantage of ;-) I also ordered this croc embossed yellow belt.  I've made no secret of my love of navy & yellow & this belt is a great way of injecting a bit of colour to an outfit....in fact I'm loving the idea of it teamed with the above jacket....however, I may now just need a pair of yellow ballet pumps to wear with it!!

Plus this necklace also happened to slip in too!  I absolutely love the neutral colour & it will be great for teaming with a whole heap of outfits!

With my extensive collection of jackets one style top you can never have enough of is a basic t-shirt to wear underneath.  And whilst I love round necked tops I don't think you can ever go wrong with a good old 'V' neck - great for showing a bit of flesh & making you feel that little bit 'sexier' (may just be me!!).  So as soon as I spotted this beauty from Zara I promptly swiped it up in 3 of the 4 colours (white, light grey & what I'd call faded black) as not only are they the perfect length for wearing loose, they're also the right size of 'V' i.e. low enough to look sexy but not too low for any escaped boobage plus made from Lyocell too so a more smarter appearance than your normal cotton tee.  These are going to be great for dressing down some of my smarter blazers when teamed with my distressed boyfriends & I reckon they're probably going to sell out fast!

Having stepped into camisole territory last summer when I spotted these F&F camis from Tesco as well as being armed with a £10 discount code it would have been rude not to snap these beauties up.  Like the t-shirts they're great for slipping under jackets, not to mention wearing with jeans, denim shorts or maxi skirts come the warmer months & are simply ideal for packing for summer climates too as they hardly take up any room in the suitcase.  I absolutely love these when teamed with a long styled pendant.

Looking at these camis I seem to be hitting the bright colours for the coming season but if none of these colours float your boat then take a look either in store or online as they have some other great colours too!!

Now this next dress is gorgeous - a lovely thick material although hubby did think that I'd lost the plot when I ordered it but it REALLY does look a lot better on honest!  Plus how gorgeous will it look when teamed with a denim jacket or even one of my many navy blazers?!!!  I just need to find the right shoes & I'll be sorted!

So there you have it (well those I can remember at least ;-) !!!).....all useful items, all great for teaming with a 101 things already in my wardrobe....& seeing as Spring seems to have finally sprung, I've already worn a couple of said beauties already!  Of course I MUST point out that this isn't just since the beginning of March but is in fact since the beginning of the year....well mid Jan & can you believe it only a couple of purchases from Zara!!! But don't worry I may have rectified this, this month & my addiction is fully intact ;-)  I'm just hoping that once I get up to date with my confessions it will seem A LOT less!!!

Finishing with my outfit for today, which may just involve another sneaky purchase, together with my style selections on how to re-create it.

Jacket - Zara
Top - Tesco (Oops another sneaky purchase for which I blame Sue!  I'd so been trying to resist this & the pink one but had to give in as soon as I saw how good they looked on her)
Bracelets - Handmade & J Crew
Faux Leather Cropped Trousers - Zara (I sized down for these otherwise too baggy in the crotch!!)
Ballet Pumps - Mint Velvet

So what do you think?  Do you think I've brought wisely or are my new additions a little to plain for your liking?  I'd love to hear your thoughts not to mention hear what's 'fallen' into your basket for the coming season.

See you tomorrow.

  1. You have set yourself quite a challenge. So far so good. I love that BR Jacket and it looks so much better on you than on the website. I love everything, as usual, and I really love the bracelets. H xx

    1. Aww thank you :-) I'm now thinking about perhaps a red & green belt to my collection as they're great for just adding that bit of interest.

  4. LOVE that yellow belt! I do love a cami BUT .. what bra to wear underneath? A contrasting bra colour or strapless (of which I never get on with)

    1. Fiona I just wear some strapless ones from good old M&S which have a bit of padding - not the sexiest of things but they do the job!

  5. Ha ha - you succumbed to the Tesco top! Did you get the pink as well? I would have been very surprised if you hadn't. But the white is a fabulous staple under a blazer and it's on the right side of smart which lends a different way to wearing a white "tee" shape top.

I love the way you snap up every thing in a few different colour ways - I never seem to get past the black and white stage usually!

And are you a secret crafter too? Handmade bracelets? Want to see more!

    1. Sue it's totally your fault, I'd been resisting the top until I saw your glowing review & then of course I had to buy the white & the pink lol!!!

Yup I must admit as soon as I find something I love, if I know I'm going to get my wear from it I do tend to smash & grab the colours I know will work.

And yes you've guessed correctly, my name's Jane & I'm a fellow crafter!!!!

    1. Glad I'm not the only one Nikki who buys an item in every colour.

Ooh yes the jacket would look fab with your wax effect trousers, in fact Zara have some lovely jackets in at the moment. Can't wait to see what you decide on for your weekend away. Have a fab time.

    1. Ooh Sharron I'm so with you on that - what a great idea! In fact I have my leopard print & stud sandals from last year which I can't wait to wear again, I'll have to drag them out & see what they look like, although if I could find some with a slight heel....well they'd be perfect!!

  10. Love those Tesco camis! I am so in need of a little spring clothes shopping so will be using your edit as a guide! Also, lovely black blazer - I had a fab one from Zara but my teen borrowed it and it was never to be seen again...lost in a dingy Shorditch club no doubt! Lisa

    1. Hi Lisa the Tesco camis are totally fab for the money. What a shame about your black blazer that your daughter borrowed....it's probably a good job I've got a son ass no fear of him wanting to borrow any of my clothes lol!!! Although you've got the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a new one though ;-)
