One Dress Several Ways & WIWT

When House of Fraser recently got in touch to see if I would like to review one of their dresses I didn't hesitate in jumping at the chance especially as soon as I spotted this wardrobe staple as I just knew it would be a great piece to add to my wardrobe.

The dress is from Label Lab, a brand that is exclusive to House of Fraser having been launched during Spring Summer of 2010 for both women & men with an urban edge.  The quality & fit of the dress is perfect & I would say true to size, although for sunny days I would probably wear with a short underskirt just to protect my modesty.....I'm paranoid of doing a Princess Di!!

So without any more waffle here's the item I chose, this gorgeous grecian based designed strapped jersey dress.  As I've mentioned previously my wardrobe seems to be lacking in the dress department & what initially struck me about this dress was just how versatile & easy to wear it would be.

So without further ado here's a picture of said dress.

What I really love about this dress is the fact that it's made from 100% modal so a real easy & comfortable dress to wear come the warmer months....providing of course the sun does put in more than the rare appearance it's currently doing!!  Plus with it's loose drapes, a really flattering dress to accentuate parts of my body that I don't mind & hide the parts that I quite frankly hate!!!  As well as being a really great dress for dressing up or down - so will be a great staple for taking away on holiday & would also be ideal for a city break when trying to make do with carry on luggage.

So first up here's how I'd style the dress for a casual daytime feel.....excuse the photobomber but there was no shifting him, he simply insisted on being part of the photo!!!!

Denim Jacket - Zara
Necklace - Wallis
Sandals - Next £22
Bracelets - Ashiana

Obviously for warmer days you could ditch the denim jacket & to add a pop of colour could team with a cross body bag.

Of course as well as a great dress for daytime, the dress would also make a great beach to bar dress for those days on holiday when you simply don't want to go back & change for the evening.  I think it looks stunning when teamed with a simple panama.

Panama Hat - H&M £7.99

The dress also has the most gorgeous beading detailing on the straps & with the folds of the dress it really doesn't need that much accessorising, you really can just simply throw it on with a simple pair of sandals & you're good to go.

Of course being a black dress it's also great for dressing up for an evening out too.  Simply team with a pair of heels & a clutch & some statement jewellery & you're good to go.  It even looks great when teamed with a belt to add a different element & should the weather prove a bit nippy a simple pashmina should do the job perfectly.

Belt - H&M
Clutch - Boden
Heels - Zara

So as you can see it's a great multi tasking dress that is sure to earn it's worth.

Finally here's what I'm wearing today plus a mac of course seeing as it's forecast non stop rain!!!

Jumper - Gemini-Woman
Scarf - Zara
Trousers - Zara
Bag - Boden
Bracelet - J Crew
Shoes - Zara

Shop my style.

A Splash of Yellow

Scarf - Boden £25
Trousers - Boden £59
Bag - Boden £59
Bracelet - J Crew £125
Shoes - Wallis £22

So what do you think, do you agree that it's one of those dresses that can adapt to whatever the occasion & would make an ideal item to take away on a budget mini break when you're restricted to hang luggage?  I reckon you could just throw a few different accessories in a carry on to achieve several different & leave the rest of the bag empty for essential purchases ;-)

I'd love to hear your thoughts & whether you've heard of or brought anything from Label Lab?

Have a great day & see you tomorrow.
