Thought I'd take a look at camisoles today as I think they're probably the most useful top ever! I started off with buying one of these at the beginning of summer last year & it wasn't long before I'd got a few colours hanging in my wardrobe as they're just perfect for dressing up or down & really work for me.
I really love the fact that they're great for teaming under a jacket come cooler days but are equally lovely, cool & stylish for warmer days layered with a necklace or two. Plus they go with everything - distressed, skinny or boyfriend jeans not to mention wax effect or faux leather trousers for a smarter look as well as capri trousers & shorts. Plus they're also great for teaming with a maxi skirt too. On top of that they hang beautifully & you can create a fab look by simply just throwing one on with a pair of jeans, some simple sandals & jewellery. I mean really what's not to love!
So here's my favourite ones currently on the high street. Starting with these lovely bright coloured ones from Oasis.
Moving onto ASOS who have an amazing selection of colours & first to catch my eye is this colour block cami & would stunning against denim.
I'm also loving the green of this longline camisole too.
A very slightly different design with this woven camisole also from ASOS, another great shade for teaming with denim or navy.
However, if you fancy something a bit less plain then what about this next camisole from ASOS. I love the colours & think this would look lovely not only worn on its own with a pair of jeans but also worn under a navy blazer with some distressed denim & block heeled sandals.
As would this one from New Look.
I just love this next crochet panelled one from ASOS, stunning with denim shorts, tan sandals & a panama....oh my I'm talking myself into this the more I think about it.....help!!!!
New Look also have some fab boho inspired camisoles & this first one would look so fresh on holiday with tan & denim shorts.
Or how about this next one, you could go for a double denim look or team with white or red shorts, both of which would look stunning.
And of course this next one would literally go with anything & everything.
Or if you prefer white instead of cream.
Love the colours in this next camisole, also from New Look.
Finally how about this double-layer cami from Mango. A very similar design to some of the ones I brought from Zara last summer, plain but with a little bit of interest in the double layering so great for layering necklaces over without being too overpowering.
Now I got a few emails last summer asking me what bra I wear underneath my camisoles, so in case you're wondering it's this one from good old M&S & yes the straps are detachable!
Finishing with my outfit for today. An early start to get son to his mock 2nd dan black belt exam (6 hours!!) & then a quiet day in catching up on a few jobs & hopefully a few hours in the garden weather permitting so keeping it casual with my denim shorts & a simple cami, layered with my lovely drape cardigan from Rachel Wears.

That blue one is lovely Jane, it seems this colour suits both blondes and brunettes. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharron, it's turning into one of my favourite colours!

The blue one is stunning on you Jane.....such a fab pop of colour!! I bought the charcoal ASOS one a while ago and had forgotten about it so you have reminded me to dig it out! They are such a useful top to have xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle, I love that ASOS one & have a similar one I brought months ago from Tesco that I also must dig out & hopefully wear during this gorgeous weather. I've just seen the forecast for the next few days & it looks like it's heating up ;-)

I have a couple of camis now and I love them - so versatile as you say. I bought a lovely khaki one from New Look a couple of weeks ago. I also have the very same bra to wear under mine - great minds ;-) Lynne xx
ReplyDeleteDefinitely great minds Lynne, for me it seems the perfect bra for wearing under camis & I think I'd be lost without the camisoles in my wardrobe as they go with everything!

I struggle with cami tops due to bra and strapless bra being rubbish :-(
ReplyDeleteFiona you should try the M&S one - it doesn't budge & gives shape & has padding = the perfect bra!
