Holiday Souvenirs & My OOTD

Okay so as promised here's my Zara haul from the holidays.  Firstly & in my defence I have to say there are SERIOUS savings to be made when shopping in Zara in Spain.  I won't tell you exactly how much as that would just be cruel but for example if I tell you the first jacket (well we all know I don't own a jacket now do I?!!!) cost less than £100 you'll see what I mean!

So yes there may have been the odd jacket purchase or two & this biker one caught my eye as soon as I saw it.  Love the gold detailing as opposed to the normal silver & it's not too heavy unlike my other biker jacket which for the record I've sold for what I paid for it so really this jacket was not only a bargain compared to UK prices but free!!!

I am totally having a faux leather love in at the moment & plan to try & wear more skirts/dresses come winter & this A-line skirt was a total bargain.  I've already worn it a couple of times & am planning on wearing this both with my Boden slip on's as well as biker boots & heels.

Now I have a real weakness for crossover tops so there was never any chance of walking away from these next two tops.  I don't know why but I find them quite sexy & easy to either dress up or down.

No doubt at some stage we're going to be getting seriously cold weather so you can't go wrong with a cable knit polo.  It's a great shade of grey which means I'll be able to wear it with camels, blacks, navy & denim dressed up or down plus with it's loose fit means a thermal or two can also be worn underneath!

I just couldn't resist these high heel snake print sandals when I saw them.  Not something I'll be wearing on a daily basis due to their height but super gorgeous for date nights & Christmas.

I'm totally loving distressed denim these past 12 months so a pair of black relaxed fit jeans were a must & seeing as I find the quality & fit of Zara jeans suit my shape it really was a no brainer.

Of course we all know I have the backbone of a jellyfish when it comes to jackets....factor in boucle & my new favourite colour hot pink well need I say any more?!!!

Finally I got a couple of great soft blanket scarves from Zara last year which were great for adding interest to the simplest of outfits not to mention keeping me super warm even when teamed with a blazer so when I saw this grey & yellow one I just simply had to slip it in!

Without realising it I seem to be sticking to a colour scheme of greys, blacks & navy with a splash of hot pink thrown in on all my recent purchases, which should work really well with my existing wardrobe.

Now I know I've had a serious blow out & yup I hold my hands up but knowing the saving I was making it made it even harder to resist......but seriously I think I'm done for autumn purchases......although when I declared this to hubby he said he saw something pink & squealing flying in the sky!!!

Moving swiftly on here's my outfit for today.

Top - Zara
Necklace - bought in Majorca
Bracelets - Banana Republic & J Crew
Skirt - Zara
Sandals - Mango

Dressing an 'A' line Leather Skirt

Leather Cuff - Mango £14.99
Bag - Boden £79
Skirt - Zara £25.99
Shoes - Office £55

So anyone else taken advantage of discounts whilst travelling on holiday this year?  It's so frustrating not to mention unfair when you see the savings that can be made, as I've said to hubby on numerous occasions it's almost worth booking a day ticket & taking an empty suitcase every season plus of course a great excuse for a day trip!!!!

See you in the morning.

  1. I also have a thing for crossover tops, so glad they are around again, they kind of disappeared the last few years!

  2. The US is the place for mega bargains - the exchange rate is very favourable and so everything is about 30% cheaper and we have found that even with the exchange rate "discount" things tend to be cheaper anyway. For the teens they can pick up armfuls of Hollister, Abercrobie, American Apparel, Nike trainers etc for great prices (the best we had a couple of years ago was Hollister T shirts for $7 ie about £4!! When outgrown they were ebayed for more than that so actually cost NOTHING!!). This summer I picked up a Michael Kors Tote for the same $ as it would be in £ - bargain!

    1. Hi Nicola I'd forgotten about shopping in the US - it's amazing isn't it?! We went to New York several years ago & did a huge shop. Nothing beats that feeling of knowing how much you're saving either does it :-)
