What I've Been Buying In August & New Outfit Post

So you know how I said I'd brought my new season wardrobe in Palma?!  Well the thing is I may have made a few sneaky purchases prior to the holiday.  So in the interests of being totally honest & hiding my shameful shopaholic face here's an update on my purchases for August.

Starting with this simple grey shirt.  A great classic shape that will look fab worn over a long vest top with faux leather leggings but will look equally fab dressed up with a statement necklace, pencil skirt & heels.  Plus the fabric is a great weight too, not as light as a cotton shirt more bordering on the weight of a denim shirt which I find that much better for styling.

If you're anything like me you'll already have a stash of scarves in your wardrobe but I simply can't resist adding to the collection as they're such a great & way of updating your wardrobe for the coming season.  I'm planning on these patterned ones bringing new life to the simplest of outfits & crew neck jumpers.

Over the past 12 months I seem to have developed a total love off anything faux leather - I mean what's not to love?!  As you just don't have to worry when you wear it do you & this flared skirt is lovely.  Not a style I would normally go for but I just love the way it flares out & it looks lovely teamed with courts for a more glamorous girly feel but equally fab when dressed down with skaters or trainers too.

This next dress was purchased after our return from holiday (which now seems many moons ago!)  I've been looking for a floaty girly dress that I can wear with chunky boots for a couple of years & as soon as I saw this dress in M&S I knew I'd found the one.  I'm loving the vintage/Downton Abbey vibe.

Finally a couple of purchases from good old H&M, which I have already confessed to, so I'm saying they don't count ;-) Firstly this animal print tunic which is going to be perfect for teaming with my faux leather leggings or wearing with thick opaques & biker boots.

And secondly these H&M cardigans.  I love the lace detailing & the 'V' is at just the right height to mean you don't need to wear a cami underneath to protect your modesty so they feel that little bit extra sexy.  Perfect for dressing down with boyfriend jeans for a simple look.

Finally here's what I'm wearing today, which is a slight variation of yesterday's look & a little bit more dressed down.

Tuxedo - Zara
T-shirt - Zara
Leather Cuff - Banana Republic
Jeans - Zara
Slip Ons - Boden £69

Black, Grey & Leopard Print

Jacket - Mango £59.99
T-Shirt - Wishbone £25
Leather Cuff - Mango £14.99
Jeans - Zara £39.99
Slip Ons - Boden £69

So as you can see my halo is totally & utterly non-existent.  It's always such a tricky time of year to be good (well for me at least!!) as the shops are brimming with new temptations.  Of course I've said to the hubby that I'm done for the season.....oh how he laughed!!!!  But seriously I am going to TRY & be good, although seeing as we're over half way through September I may have to start being good in October!!!!

Now please tell me I'm not the only one to have been very naughty........I need some allies ;-)

See you tomorrow.

    1. I hadn't thought of that Sharron but I can't be doing with heat & things over my head for daytime as I'm really claustrophobic & end up getting in a panic & stuck lol!! I suppose I could wear it of an evening though. Can't wait to see you in the dobby dress.
