Celebrity Style Steal - Queen V Herself & My OOTD

So for today's style steal I decided to choose none other than Queen VB herself, Mrs Victoria Beckham or Vicky to her friends ;-)

Now whether you loathe her or love her, one thing that's not in doubt is that she (generally) has impeccable dress sense....well apart from when she & David have gone down the matching outfit road but that's another blog entirely!!!

As soon as I saw the below picture I decided it was a great outfit to try & re-create from pieces on the high street.  Plus it's a great basic outfit that can easily be adapted to suit your day - heels for a shopping day with the girls/evening out or pointed flats/slip ons for the school run/day of errands.

Of course seeing as we're now in October, short sleeves unless you're incredibly hot blooded aren't going to cut it so I've decided to go down a more autumn/winter feel for my style steal.

First off here's Victoria.  Just out of interest anyone know how she manages to wear such high heels & never fall over?  Let alone keep them on her feet as sometimes there are huge gaps at the heel!!  I'm thinking it's got to be something a lot stronger than toupee tape....duck tape perhaps?!!!

And here's my high street picks for stealing said style.  Starting with this stunning black cape from Mango.  Much more practical than Mrs B's as it has sleeves, which with winter just round the corner would certainly come in very handy.  Plus how stylish would this look when teamed with a pencil skirt or tailored dress for a work/evening occasion.

Keeping things simple with the jumper & I've chosen this boat neck jumper from Next, which just has a little bit of detailing on the shoulders with plain buttons.  Plus it's a great wardrobe must have too as a plain black jumper can so easily be dressed up or down - keep it casual with distressed boyfriend jeans & slip ons/trainers or bling it up with faux leather jeans & a statement necklace finished off with a leopard print clutch for a perfect & fail safe off on a night out outfit.

As the outfit is essentially just the one colour I've chosen these washed out skinny jeans from Mint Velvet to create a little bit of variety.  The zip detailing make the jeans look a little bit more 'dressed' & different plus the faded black would stop the outfit from looking too solid.  Also these jeans are mega comfortable....I have tried some on & believe me they are just divine!

And for the shoes I've gone for these pointed suede ones from M&S as not only are they classics the heel looks a sensible height meaning you're going to be able to do more & wear them more often so much better value in terms of 'cost per wear' ;-)

Finally for the bag I've decided to go with a full on injection of colour as opposed to the hint of colour with Victoria's bag & have picked this lovely tote from Mango in red.  Red is absolutely huge this season so it would be a great way of bringing one of the 'must have' colours into your wardrobe plus the size & style make it a great versatile number that is also going to look stunning when teamed with a simple navy blazer & breton too.

And to finish here's what I'm wearing today - son is very lucky & off helping at a film company today where there's going to be stunt drivers, weapons you name it so he's extremely excited & we're off out to celebrate my Mum's birthday so I thought I'd give my Boden sparkly flats their first outing!!

So what do you think are you a lover of Victoria's style or are you more put off by the fact that she hardly ever breaks into a smile?!!  Perhaps this is a look that you could see yourself wearing?  Or maybe you're put off by donning a cape in case you have the sudden urge to hum the Batman tune & pretend you're a superhero ;-)

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts & don't forget the Boden midseason up to 40% off sale ends today with free delivery & if you can get an extra 15% off with code W8H3 click here to shop!
