Reefer Jackets & WIWT

Today I'm looking at reefer coats, which I think has to be my most favourite style of coat.  For me it's just a really stylish classic that regardless of the different fashions never really changes.  Plus it's as great dressed down with boyfriend jeans & flats as it is teamed with a party dress or leather effect skinnies & heels & equally looks fab worn done up, undone or casually thrown over your shoulders.

So let's get on with my edit of the best reefers on the high street.  Starting of course with my new Wallis addition, which was recommended by their Style Advisor app (click here to see post) & I can't wait to wear.  Plus it's now been reduced to just £29!!

In fact Wallis seem to have the best selection of reefers out there as they also have this gorgeous berry one, which looks very similar in style to the blue one I've got hanging in my wardrobe.

I'm also loving this black version from Mango, although seeing as I have a fab black reefer brought from Zara a couple of years ago even I can't justify a new one ;-)

Love the colour of this camel reefer from ASOS.....any chance do you think that I could justify a camel one to keep my black & navy versions company?!!

This next coat has a slightly more casual feel due to the plain buttons & wider lapels but if you wanted to mix things up a bit you could so easily change the buttons to brass to make it truly unique.

Now if you're on the hunt for a pale blue coat then Next have got the reefer market sorted.  I'm not sure the colours they've paired it with totally do this coat justice but imagine it styled with soft greys, a lighter denim & whites & it would look amazing.

Or how about this stunning dusty pink one from Warehouse.  I love the extra detailing on the cuffs & think this shade of pink looks gorgeous with a soft/worn denim jean not to mention greys.

Or if you love the look of a reefer coat but fancy something a little bit less fussy in design Mint Velvet have certainly captured the relaxed glamour feel with this gorgeous winter white one.

Or how about their navy coat, which is styled to perfection in my eyes.  Simply a great outfit - stylish, elegant & sassy & consisting of things most of us have hanging in our wardrobes....I'm definitely making a mental note to copy this look in the future!

Finally finishing with my outfit for today.

Shirt - Zara
Necklaces - Stella & Dot
Leather Cuff - Banana Republic

Shirt - Zara £29.99
Necklace - Mango £9.99
Leather Cuff - Mango £14.99

So what do you think, are you a lover of the reefer?  Is it something you've already got hanging in your wardrobe or maybe you're thinking of investing in one this winter?  Or perhaps you just don't get on with the whole double breasted style?

As always I love reading your thoughts & comments & would love to know which of the above beauties is your favourite.

Happy 'hump' day.  Back to reality for all of us today including son who is doing another couple of days work experience.  No doubt I'll be spending the day catching up on the back log of work from my two days off but hey if you've got to go back to work the middle of the week is a great place to start the week....two more sleeps until the weekend :-)

See you in the morning.

  1. Funny you should ask, but I was only thinking the other day that I might have a small reefer-coat shaped hole in my wardrobe, and for £29 that first one looks like a proper bargain! I never seem to find much in Wallis, but I must have a closer look next time I'm out and about.

I have that Zara shirt you're wearing today, and I just love it. Looks fab with those skinnies!

    1. Lol Lynne, I presume you're meaning coats as opposed to goats ;-) Is it the length of this style coat that you don't like or the fact they're double breasted?!

  8. I am so glad that I spent my train journey catching up with your blog, which I love. I have been looking for a wool jacket or light wool coat that will a) keep me warm b) look good casual and dressy c) easy to hold or carry when shopping or in the pub and d) ideal for taking to Bruges in December. I have looked at a number or different options but they were either not quite right, only in black (and I have plenty of black coats & jackets) or if I did find something I liked they were out of stock in my size.
Then I saw this Navy Wallis one and within 10 mins I had ordered in (and in the Sale - love!!) along with a grey slouchy chiunky cardigan coat thing (another item on my AW shopping list ticked off) and that lovely black lace jumper you have all for the grand total of £80 and free delivery. Thank you xx
