Now I've been incredibly lucky as Mint Velvet have very kindly sent me their gorgeous Mongolian gilet to style & I have to say I absolutely love it!
As you would imagine with all things Mint Velvet not only is it incredibly well made but it is also super soft & cuddly without being thick & heavy (if that makes sense) so it doesn't bulk you out in just about the one place all women don't want to be bulked out in!
Now I'm usually in-between sizes with Mint Velvet but I sized down with the gilet as it does come up slightly on the larger side & I'm delighted with the fit - still room to wear a thick jumper but not too loose when paired just with a shirt.
So first up I've styled the gilet with a simple pair of skinny distressed jeans. I think one of the main ways we tend to wear gilets is with jeans as they're perfect for dressing up a simple daytime outfit, not to mention of course they can be worn with any style jean whatsoever.

In fact any style of trouser is going to go with a gilet & this gilet would look equally as stunning teamed with some faux leather leggings & heels for date night or a night out with the girls.
I'm also enjoying layering delicate necklaces at the moment too & Mint Velvet also sent me this gorgeous necklace. It has a lovely delicate gold chain with silver tusk so is perfect for teaming with either golds or silver jewellery & can even be extended if you want a longer length.

For my second outfit I wanted to try styling the gilet with a dress so decided to pair it with my vintage inspired black dress from Marks & Spencer. As I've mentioned above the gilet is a perfect thickness, so much so that I've even been able to team it with a simple leather belt to add a bit of definition & create a different look & feel.
This is a style I've always wanted to be able to wear having loved the look on others but I've never found one that's the right thickness & I just end up looking like I've piled on the pounds but this gilet doesn't do that, which I think in part is due to the lightness of the fur but also the fact that they haven't added extra fur down the sides.

Finally I thought I'd team the gilet with a simple thick polo neck & my 'A' line faux leather skirt. I have to admit I'm in love with this look so expect to see me wearing it to death!!!

Of course there are lots more ways of wearing gilets & I'm planning on teaming mine in the coming cooler months with not only my black tuxedo jacket but also my biker jacket too. So how do you wear yours? Do you have a favourite outfit you team your gilets with or do you like to wear it with as many looks as possible?
As always I love hearing your thoughts & comments.
