Wish/Gift List Part I & WIWT

So the Christmas (not to mention my birthday) countdown has well & truly begun & we all know how excited I get for birthdays and Christmas.  I think it's fair to say I'm never going to grow up in that respect!!

I don't know about you but I always hope that Santa pops in one or two treats in my stocking & seeing as the hubby has asked for some ideas, I thought I'd share them on the blog as a kind of wish/gift ideas list.

The first thing I'm hoping for is some of this golden shimmer dry oil, which I've recently spotted on the M&S website & have had a trial squirt of in store.  Now I might be late to the party, as I've not heard of this before but it looks fab.  Non oily with the most gorgeous tiny flecks of gold that's going to look gorgeous for the festive celebrations not to mention come the summer when I have a 'real' tan.  On the bottle it says it can be used on your body, face & hair so a real multi purpose product that I'd love to apply as a moisturiser after showering.  Let's just hope Santa's listening!!

Another item that's always useful is a little bag for keeping my lippy & other make up essentials together in my handbag.  My inner magpie just loves this metallic snake print one.  A fantastic price, plus surely being gold it would mean I could easily spot it without the need to tip out the full contents of my bag, which is what normally happens to me.  I'm just wondering if I could instigate an office secret Santa as it's the perfect price although seeing as I work for myself I don't think that's quite the point is it, perhaps I could I say it's off the taxman?!!!

Keeping with make up bags, my leopard print one (well I'm nothing if not predictable!) has probably seen better days so Santa if you're listening this Mint Velvet one will do nicely!

One thing Santa can't go wrong with is nail polishes, after all what girl doesn't love a new nail polish or two.  My favourite brand has to be OPI, I just love the names they give the colours & there's always going to be a new shade I want to try.  Two of my recent favourite colours are this lovely deep metallic blue.

And this lovely hot pink colour.

Now if you haven't tried OPI's Chip Skip before then I can highly recommend this.  You apply it to your nails before putting any base coat on & basically it's designed to stop the nail polish chipping & it really does work!

Their RapiDry top coat also really does dry very fast, no more thinking your nails are dry only to wake up the next morning with creases from the bedsheets.....yes this has happened to me MANY a time!!

One new year resolution I have to stick to this year is to start using hand cream on a regular basis & what better cream to use than the Queen of intensive moisturisers.

This next cream I can vouch for.  If you haven't heard off the brand HealGel it was created by a team of British plastic & cosmetic surgeons who wanted to create an effective skincare range.  The Intensive gel is designed to target scars & problem areas & I used this when the skin above my eye needed gluing back together after falling over the dog whilst running, as well as on my shoulder after taking a small chunk of skin out off that too.  I had to use it for 3 months day & night & despite the nurse warning me that my eye would scar I've been really lucky as you can't see any scar above my eye & only a very slight scaring on my shoulder.

So after my success with their Intensive gel I'm keen to try the rest of the range.

I'm also loving the fact that there's just the one eye & face cream as opposed to having both day & night creams, surely simplicity is the way forward?!!

I've also read that they face cream makes a great make up primer too.

This next product I actually couldn't wait for a visit from the man in red & white & grabbed this as soon as I saw it in store as they keep selling out online.  Of course there are lots of variants of this cleansing brush on the market but for just under £20 I thought I'd got nothing to loose.  I really do feel it cleanses my skin so much more & my skin appears a lot smoother & brighter.  In fact so much so my Mum has also brought one & is liking the results.

So Mr Claus please can I have some of the replacement cleansing heads in my stocking on the 25th!

Finally who doesn't love some new perfume & typically several of my favourite ones are now nearing the end.  Hubby a.k.a. Santa please feel free to choose as many of the following as you wish ;-)

So there you have part 1 of my wish/ideas list, now all that remains to be seen is whether there's anything from above awaiting me on my birthday in a few days time or on the 25th.

  1. The Nuxe dry oil is amazing, I have tried the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuseor a few years back on holiday to give your tan a boost and it gives a fabulous thinning effect to your legs Jane. Lovely gift picks. X

  3. I adore the HealGel range - every one of them is brilliant but if I had to choose one I'd go for Face. Eye, Intensive and Body are great too! The Nuxe is lovely but it's not often I want to be shimmery so I think there are cheaper options that work just as well - eg Kiko shimmery body lotion or Pur Minerals highlighting stick. Xen Tan Gold self tan with shimmer is also gorgeous for evening.

Anyway actually wanted to comment that I love your outfit so much and am gutted I missed that sweatshirt - I have the same skirt and they're perfect together, you look really great!

    1. Ooh that's interesting to know thanks Nic. It's always good to hear when someone who knows what they're talking about rates a product to....will definitely be giving the Heal Face a try & perhaps swap over to the other products as my other lotions run out. Off to look up the alternatives to the Nuxe oil that you've mentioned!
