Taking A Look At Stella & Dot & My OOTD

When I first started this blog I had no idea if anyone was ever going to read it or where the journey would take me but I hoped that if I was lucky at least one other person other than the hubby would see it & that I would meet some liked minded friends along the way.  It's incredibly hard to believe that this was just under 2 years ago & that through the blog I have been introduced to some amazing new brands as well as ladies, who like me love clothes!

One of these lovely ladies is Claire who after studying fashion design at university went on to to train as a colour consultant & has recently set up her own business not only offering colour analysis but also selling the fantastic brand Stella & Dot who sell some stunning accessories.

For those of you that haven't heard of the brand, Stella & Dot are a New York based company whose design team has come from some very known designers & jewellers including De Beers, Cartier & Marc Jacobs so with experience like that it's certainly well worth taking a peek at their collections!  A mixture of on trend & classic pieces there's something to tempt everyone from stunning statement pieces to delicate necklaces, gorgeous scarves & of course something a girl can never have to many of - bags!

I have a couple of their charm necklaces that hubby treated me to last summer & I have to say I've been really pleased not only with the quality but the service too.  With free postage on orders over £40 (anyone else hate paying for postage?!! - I'd rather a company hide the cost in the price of the goods wouldn't you?!!) to updates on your order via email/text, from the two orders I've had I certainly would highly recommend them.

So enough about their customer service let's have a look at some of their stunning new collection.  Needless to say there's lots catching my inner magpie's eye including this stunning vintage & very much J Crew inspired crystal necklace.  I just love my J Crew one & also how Anna Wintour wears similar (but no doubt a LOT more expensive) necklaces grouped together.

And they even do the bracelet to match :-)

Now if you like your bling you're going to love this next beauty.  Such a stunning piece that when teamed with a little black dress is going to look divine but would also look pretty fab layered up with other bracelets for a great look for a night out.

I just love this next picture of the above necklace & bracelets all layered up - bling-tastic heaven & so timeless.

Talking of timeless how about these stunning earrings.  So easy to wear of a night or in the day & they'd certainly get you skin sparkling wouldn't they?!

Moving onto more on trend pieces now & as soon as I spotted this necklace I immediately pictured it teamed with a breton & navy blazer.  How stunning would this look finished off with some jeans & either ballet pumps or trainers.  Plus if you don't feel that yellow suits you but love navy & yellow when teamed together it would be a great way of incorporating the look.

Come the summer months pendant necklaces really come into their own for me & I've had so much use out of a cheap New Look one that I'm very tempted to click the button on this next beauty.  Perfect for either wearing on it's own or teaming with some shorter necklaces I reckon this would fast become the only necklace you reached for in the summer.  I just love this kind of look when teamed with a camisole & jeans.

Regular readers will also know I love my statement pearl necklaces & this next necklace looks a great alternative to my Zara one & certainly wouldn't look too twinset & pearls but would again be a great staple for anyone who finds their wardrobe lacking in the pearl department!

Now this next necklace is rather pricey but I just had to include it as it really is stunning & could so easily take a simple outfit to another level & I just love all the different coloured beads.

Back to pendants again with this necklace - I just love the simplicity & if you have the right outfit this would make a great addition.

Stepping away from all their stunning jewellery & onto another love of mine - scarves, what do you think of this fantastic neutral?  I love the gold design & can really see this working when teamed with white come the summer months & sun kissed skin, not to mention tan & navy.

Or for a splash of colour this lovely wild heart design (which could almost be called leopard print in my eyes) would be perfect for wearing all year round & would look stunning teamed with a breton or two.

And for a statement clutch what do you think of this gorgeous perforated bag?!  Perfect for packing for summer holidays not to mention date nights plus it's such an usual colour way & design it's sure to make a statement.

Finally I mentioned earlier that I already own a couple of their stunning charm necklaces & Claire has very kindly sent me another one to layer up with my shorter necklaces.  What I love about their necklaces is that all the components are sold separately so you can custom one to suit your own style - from mixing silver & gold plated charms to choosing a birthstone of a loved one, to your length of chain, to attaching them to a necklace or bracelet you can truly make a stunning personalised piece that can be added to for special occasions.

Here's a quick few pictures to show you their beautiful packaging.

And here's the charms that are going on my new necklace.

I just love the length of this necklace as with the Sahara pendant necklace above it's going to be perfect for layering up in the summer & as it features both silver & gold plated charms it will go with all my jewellery.

Finally here's what I'm wearing today including my new necklace!

Necklaces - Stella & Dot
Jumper - Gap
Skirt - Zara
Boots - Boden

Navy & Black

Jumper - Boden £49
Bracelets - Ashiana £58.50
Skirt - Mango £44.99
Boots - Boden £119

So what do you think?  Do you see anything that catches your fancy?  Have you heard of Stella & Dot before or perhaps you've even bought from them in the past?  And what about colour analysis, is it something you're tempted to treat yourself to or perhaps you've already had it?  If so are you really good & only stick to your colour palette?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

In the meantime if you're tempted by learning about what colours suit you & how to best use that knowledge in your accessories then why not check out Claire's website.  She, like I, believes that accessories are the perfect way to take an outfit from day to night, add that splash of colour, not to mention individuality to your look.  With Claire's training & her knowledge of the brand she can help you learn how by adding accessories to your look you can divert attention from any problem areas & of course highlight your best assets not to mention tell you what colours you should & shouldn't be wearing plus of course she's a lovely lady too!

Have a great day & see you in the morning.

  1. I love the Sanibel pendant Jane....the one you have chosen with the charms too! Both will be fab with the 70's/boho looks that are set to be big this Spring/Summer! I have a renegade cluster bracelet that I wear from time to time....must dig it out as I love that layered up with a few other bracelets xx

  2. I have way more Stella and Dot jewellery than I dare admit to. I dread to think what I've spent on it!! Having said that, one of the things I love about them is that they have pieces to suit every budget, so that for every item that I lust over and can't afford, there's another that is within my price range. I have the Sahara tusk pendant and wore it a lot last Summer. Can't wait to dig it out again this year!

  8. We love S&D here in Canada! Two of my favourite pieces are the crystal bracelet in rose and the sutton necklaces. You can wear them 5 different ways. I wear mine at least 3 times a week. Great post, I'm going to visit the website right now :-)
