I was recently approached by Jewel Street, a company I had not previously heard of but being a keen lover of jewellery & knowing the importance a statement piece can make to even the most ordinary of outfits I was interested to take a look at their website & find out a bit more about them.
For those of you, who like me, haven't heard of them, Jewel Street are an online store that sells jewellery from 300 independent worldwide designers & brands with the aim to 'bring the highest quality & lowest prices of unique stunning jewellery to consumers, whilst providing the best deal for designers & brands'. Which as someone who has a weakness for a statement piece or two but likes to know they are getting a good deal sounds like a win win kind of situation.
Needless to say there is a vast selection of pieces for sale & when Jewel Street asked if I would like to choose a piece & record on the blog an honest account of my experience of service from order to delivery I didn't hesitate in saying yes.
Of course my only trouble was trying to choose one piece from the the vast selection as they really do have something for everyone & every budget with items ranging from under £20 to £5,000! In the end I decided to happily while away a couple of hours getting acquainted with all the brands & looking at all the lovely sparkly pieces.
So before I share with you the item I eventually picked I thought I'd share with you the pieces that made in onto my short list, just so you can see for yourself some of the stunning jewellery they stock.
First up was this lovely bracelet by Mara Hotung. This is available in yellow gold, rose gold or silver & I just love the design. Perfect for wearing on it's own or layering up with other bracelets too.
I was also tempted by this lovely cubic zirconia ring by Vamp London, which is again available in silver, rose gold or yellow gold. A great statement ring that is not only classic & stylish but also delicate in it's design.
I love jewellery that is that little bit different to things on the high street, which for me is where Jewel Street totally comes into it's own & this next leather braided bracelet is a great example of the uniqueness of the jewellery they sell.
Moving back onto rings with this next item from Virtue London, again a real classic & stylish piece & available in the three finishes.
As soon as I saw this next ring by Amara Amara I instantly thought of summer. This would look so beautiful teamed with other gold & aqua jewellery & a white outfit. Not to mention black or navy.
As would this dreamcatcher necklace by Muru. Perfect for wearing on it's own or layered with other gold chains.
Now I have a real weakness for stackable rings so when I saw these next four rings by Astrid & Miyu they certainly caught my eye. Available in four finishes & I have to admit to being tempted to get one of each to wear together as it would be a perfect way to incorporate various existing jewellery & would be sure to make a statement. Although I also like the idea of perhaps teaming the silver finish with the the gold finish worn either side or even the silver, gold & rose gold finishes worn all together.
The final piece to make it onto my short list was this stunning cocktail ring which is also designed by Astrid & Miyu. I love the fact that this gives a similar look to a stackable ring but with the advantage of only having the one shank.
So what did I choose? Well it was a really tough call as I love all of the above pieces & would quite happily wear any one of them but in the end I decided to go for the Astrid & Miyu Three Island cocktail ring as I thought it would make a stunning piece to either wear on its own or because it can so easily be adjusted in size, worn on my middle finger next to my own stackable rings to create a real statement.
I was also intrigued to see what Astrid & Miyu's jewellery would be like as they're a brand I've been following for a while & I have to say the ring didn't disappoint. The shank is made from 18k rose gold plated brass with the three stones consisting of amethyst zirconia, yellow zirconia and ruby zirconia & I think its fair to say it sums up the brands ethos of designing unique but wearable high quality jewellery.
As for the ordering process from Jewel Street it really couldn't have been easier, with my ring being received promptly with updates from the company as to the progress of my order & expected delivery date.
Now for those of you that are nervous ordering online or from a company you've never dealt with in the past, I can highly recommend Jewel Street. Obviously I can only go on my experience but upon receipt of the ring unfortunately there was a small stone missing from the shank. I don't know about you but from previous experience with other online retailers my heart sank fearing it would be a hassle to arrange the return of the item & for a replacement ring to be sent. However, with Jewel Street it really couldn't have been easier. Not only were they highly apologetic, as were Astrid & Miyu but the return process was simple & easy & they acted as the middle man & the replacement ring was received in a matter of days. So you really can't ask fairer than that can you.
Naturally I'm already planning on various ways in which to wear my new ring & am sure it's going to fast become one of my 'go to' pieces of jewellery as, as you can see from the below picture it really is a stunning piece.
Moving on to what I'm wearing today.

So have you heard of Jewel Street or perhaps even made a purchase from them? If not is it a company you would consider purchasing from in the future? I have to admit to being a little bit in love with the idea not to mention some of the brands they stock & have already bookmarked the page to visit in the future as like I said earlier I just love jewellery that is that little bit more unique & special to what's available on the high street. I will certainly be sending hubby a link to their site as I'd be delighted to receive a few more pieces from here for special occasions.
Plus if you're tempted Jewel Street have very kindly given me a discount code to share you with. For 15% off from now until the end of May simply use code 'MIDLIFEFASHION15'.
