Last year I was luckily enough to work with Seven Boot Lane a fantastic brand of footwear that makes the most stunning & beautifully made shoes & boots (see previous post here). So you can imagine my delight when they recently got back in touch to see if I'd like to review & style a pair of shoes/boots from their latest collection.
Of course it also gave me the excuse to drool over their latest collection & like their AW14 collection it really doesn't disappoint. Lots of stylish classic additions with a nod to the latest trends in gorgeous muted colours. I've simply had to share with you the ones that made it on to my short list. Well when I say short it's not particularly short as there's so many stunning designs but here's my top ten.
Starting with this lovely charcoal snake suede ankle boot. Now obviously boots are a 'must have' in the autumn & winter but having worn a pair of Seven Boot Lane's boots I was sorely tempted to pick a second pair as they're just so comfy & I just love the snake texture to this boot. Plus I love this type of ankle boot teamed with skirts & dresses on cooler summer days too not to mention the fact the heel is the perfect shape & height for running errands in the day or for going out of an evening.

Plus the walnut shade would make a fantastic neutral boot & would look stunning teamed with a simple boho styled dress & denim jacket.
Then there's their Bali Natural Snake boot - how stunning are these & they really would go with everything from whites, creams, greys, khakis, navy & black. I just love them & reckon they're the sort of boots that would improve over time with age & wear.
As would the same design in grey suede - can you see why my short list isn't very short?!!!
Then of course Seven Boot Lane also make some beautiful shoes too, like these Dakota Charcoal Suede loafers. Having fallen in love with the slip on trainer I was immediately drawn to these beauties. They have the same snake suede as the Erin Charcoal boots & the idea of a slight platform sole & more pointed front really appeals as they look a much smarter & grown up option to the slip on.
But then the silver version would be a great neutral shoe for summer.
Then of course there's their Dido espadrille, which similar to the Dakota has a plaformed sole. How stunning do these look in walnut?
Or even the nude suede version, this would look stunning teamed with denim.
But then there's the Dixie loafer. Again a fantastic classic designed shoe that would look stunning teamed with boyfriend jeans, wide legged trousers or even skinny jeans.
And finally how about in the grey suede with nude pink tassel - just beautiful.
I'm sure you will agree there's lots of stunning additions to their new collection, leaving me with a very hard decision of which pair to pick to style & review. Any guesses which ones I went for?
I love how they arrived with my own personalised sticker :-)
After lots of deliberation I decided to go for the Dakota in Charcoal as I think I'll be able to wear these all year round.
Naturally I've had a bit of a trying on session of my new shoes at home & they're perfect. I ordered my normal shoe size (40) & they're a great fit. Of course being suede they're going to give a little bit with wear, which makes them perfect for wearing in the hotter months when my feet with expand. Plus they're super comfy too & so far no blisters or rubbing either, as unlike most new shoes these don't need any breaking in.
Of course I've had to wear my new shoes today & have teamed them with a simple all black outfit & my red jacket. I just know these shoes are going to be perfect for wearing with most things in my wardrobe including skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, cigarette trousers, wide legged trousers, shorts & of course dresses & skirts alike - I can't wait to see what they look like with my denim dress.

ReplyDeleteHi the shoes aren't cheap no but they are exceptionally well made & will last you many years.

Great choice Jane, but I don't know how you managed to narrow you list down to one! I've had my eye on the Delphine boots in tan for a while now, they are a gorgeous colour, I'm off to drool a bit more xx

Good choice Jane.....you know how I love a skate style shoe! ;0) Love the espadrilles too! Some gorgeous boots too! No wonder it was so hard for you to choose! xx
ReplyDeleteThe espadrilles are stunning aren't they Michelle & I very nearly picked them but I thought the Dakota shoes for me would be more versatile. Plus with my son having far out grown me in height I thought the extra height in the sole would be useful ;-)
