Celebrity Style Steal - Rose Byrne & WIWT

So for this month's celebrity style steal I've gone for an outfit I saw on actress Rose Byrne.  As you will see from the picture she's kept her look pretty simple & classic but the beauty of this outfit is that with a few accessories you could so easily transform the look from day to night, not to mention create various looks with the one dress.

Here's Rose looking very chic & classic.

So let's start the style steal.  First off looking at the dress I don't think you're going to do any better than this Boden one.  Perfect for dressing up or down, a 'V' shaped neckline allowing you to team with either a statement necklace or layer with fine chains & a gathering just under the bust line meaning that the dress will be flattering on all body shapes & no clinging on the tummy or hips to worry about.

Now Rose has gone for quite a heavy sandal but I would team the dress with something a little less bulky in appearance & would pick these Carvela sandals to wear.  Simple, classic & understated with just a little element of interest in the metal plate.  Of course for other looks you could also team with a wedge or add more interest with either a leopard print sandal/shoe or even metallics or of course a pop of colour.

Moving onto the bag & I just love the look of this grab bag from John Lewis (which is also available in orange).  This seems like the perfect every day sized bag - big enough to fit everything in without being cumbersome & extremely stylish for the price.  How fab would it look with a pom pom key ring hanging from one of the handles?

And finally keeping it classic & simple with these black sunglasses from Marks.

As I mentioned earlier a simple black maxi dress is a great wardrobe essential as not only is it a perfect canvas to accessorise with different jewellery & shoes.  But with the addition of a statement jacket or clutch you can create many different looks & dress up or down depending on the occasion.  Plus it's a fab outfit for travelling on holiday allowing you to ditch layers as the temperatures increase but look stylish & feel comfy too.

In fact today I've decided to try something I've been meaning to wear for a while now & that's my maxi skirt teamed with my biker jacket.

So what do you think, are you a fan of the plain black maxi?  If so do you have a particular look you like to create when wearing it?  And what do you think of my style steal?

Busy day ahead with work for me & son has 3 GCSE's so a full day in school - it's going to seem quiet without him but I'm sure work will keep me fully occupied!  Plus I'm hoping to take a peek at Boden when I get a minute or two as for today's offer is 25% off all skirts, shorts, jeans & trousers click here to shop!

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts on the black maxi dress & how you wear yours.  Let's just keep our fingers crossed the weather keeps improving so we can finally wear them!
