So a big day out with the girls today. Yup no work for me & instead I'm getting dressed up for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot with a difference.
Around this time last year during a girl's night out we discussed going to Ladies Day not that any of us know anything about racing but hey any excuse to dress up & sip bubbles ;-) Then we started to look into the day & decided that with none of us wanting to drive it was not only a long journey to make but the journey alone would cost quite a lot & that's before you factor in outfits, tickets, bubbles etc, etc.
However, not to be deterred a few months ago having shelved our plans we found out that our village club holds a Ladies Day of it's own. Everyone has to dress up (hats included!) & not only is there lunch & afternoon tea but a live broadcast of the races & betting too all for the fantastic price of £35 per person. Plus & this is what got us all whooping is that we all live within stumbling *crawling* distance so no travelling costs which of course equals more bubbles ;-)
Now I don't know about you but I haven't had the excuse to get dressed up for a looooong time so I've really been looking forward to wearing something I wouldn't normally wear & of course needless to say I've had lots of fun planning my outfit.
So after lots of different ideas & options I finally decided to wear separates & use a lot of pieces I already had hanging in my wardrobe. In fact the only things I got especially for today are the skirt & fascinator. Both of which are a little bit different to what I'd have thought I'd go for.
So without further ado here's what I finally decided on.
Fascinator - Accessorize
Necklace - J Crew
Top - Zara
Belt - Zara
Bracelet - J Crew
Skirt - Coast
Bag - Zara
Shoes - Zara
Fascinator - Accessorize Now £35
Necklace - J Crew £165
Top - Zara £29.99
Skirt - Coast £95
Bag - Zara
Bracelet - J Crew £95
Fascinator - Accessorize Now £35

Top - Zara £29.99
Belt - Warehouse £26
Bracelet - J Crew £95
Skirt - Coast £95
Bag - Mango Now £19.99
Shoes - Zara Now £19.99
Right I'd better get a move on the girls are due shortly for an aperitif or two. Not sure how long the high heels are going to last (just hoping I manage to stay upright!!) but there's flip flops in my bag (just in case) & hubby is threatening to bring the wheelbarrow to collect me & wheel me home later this evening lol.
Hope everyone has a fab Thursday & if you've not taken a look at Coast recently then do, as they have some stunning pieces perfect for special occasions plus they've just launched their summer sale click here to take a peek.
Finally Wallis have 24% off for the next 24 hours only see here, the Zara sale click here has started & Mango have up to 50% off see here. I think it's a good job I'm going to be otherwise engaged with all these sales about at the moment!
See you tomorrow.

Jane you look absolutely gorgeous! Love the colour combination - very chic. Your village club sounds brilliant! What an ingenious idea to celebrate ladies day there, it sounds like lots of fun. Have a fab time, enjoy the bubbles and good luck on the horses - I have no doubt the Zara sale will be accepting any, if not all, of your winnings lol!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi & thank you - it was such an amazing day, I don't think we stopped laughing & giggling from start to finish!

Oh what a fabulous idea! You look lovely (it is always nice to get dolled up once in a while) so enjoy your day. I want to see the pictures in Instagram if you get brought home in a wheelbarrow!! he he.
ReplyDeleteLol Annmarie......can you believe it I managed to walk *stumble* home so no need for the wheelbarrow although the flip flops were firmly on & hubby's arm may have been required for support ;-)
