WIWT - Turning A Maxi Dress Into A skirt & Some Marks and Spencer Beauties

Morning ladies.  I'm keeping things really simple today & opting for a bit of comfort, so I'm simply layering my Zara boho maxi dress with an oversized polo neck to create the illusion of a maxi skirt.

So you might have noticed that I've chopped my feet off today's post & the reason being is this!

My Midlife Fashion, Ingrowing Toe Nails

Yup suffice to say I can't fit into any shoes as I've had a procedure to remove my ingrowing toe nails - oh the glamour!!  Anyone that knows me well will know I'm a real scaredy cat & if I'm honest it's something I've been putting off since a teenager as I absolutely hate needles.  But after much pestering by my son (things you do for your children hey?!!) I decided to be brave.  Fast forward several visits to a chiropodist & I was eventually persuaded I needed to have the procedure carried out.

Now I was supposed to just have an initial appointment at my local hospital to confirm & talk through the procedure & I was a complete nervous wreck with knees shaking & everything.  But as luck would have it, as I was leaving my appointment & confirming I would happily take a cancellation if they ever got one (for me the least notice I have on things I'm dreading the better as I've far less time to think & panic!!).  Anyway I was just leaving when a nurse from another consultation happened to hear the conversation & said they'd just had a cancellation & that if I wanted I could have the procedure done there & then.  Fast forward another hour & there I was unable to fit into my shoes & walking out the hospital in just my pop socks with plastic disposable overshoe shoe covers to protect my feet - yup ladies fashion at the cutting edge lol!!

Now I'm hoping it's not going to be too long before I can start wearing shoes again but for the next few days I won't be taking any chances as my toes are feeling a little too tender & bruised.

However silver linings & all that.  Firstly thankfully its now all over & secondly whilst I was resting on the sofa yesterday afternoon I did happen to see a few newly arrived beauties in at Marks that currently have 20% off, (ends tonight) some of which I may have clicked the button on ;-0  So today I thought I'd share my findings & tempt you lovely ladies too ;-)

Starting with this stunning double breasted jacket, which I just love & think it's perfect for teaming with a maxi dress or cigarette pants & a simple classic white shirt.

Marks and Spencer Pure Cotton Textured Jacket with Buttonsafe

I'm seriously loving the coatigan this season & this double breasted number is gorgeous.  Perfect for smarting up the simplest of outfits & pairing with trainers, a tee & skinny jeans for the school run or throwing over some leather leggings & a cami for a night out.

Marks and Spencer Double Faced Longline Cardigan

This grey drape sweater dress instantly caught my eye & I've got high hopes for this beauty.  I've just taken delivery of some stunning boots which I could see teamed with a casual knitted dress so I'm hoping & keeping everything crossed that this is the one!

Marks and Spencer Drape Sweater Dress

I'm also really loving maxi dresses this season too & I love not only the 'V' neckline of this one but the raised hem too.  I think this would look stunning teamed with a biker jacket & some heeled ankle boots.

Marks and Spencer V Neck Floral Maxi Dress

Finally this simple silk blouse caught my eye.  I just love the simplicity of blouses like this & can see this look amazing with skinny jeans or cigarette pants & leopard print heels.  A real wardrobe staple.

Marks and Spencer No Peep Silk Rich Button Through Blouse

Right I'm off to put my feet up - have a fab Thursday ladies & don't forget its the last day at Boden for 25% off everything, so if you haven't got round to clicking that button (see here) & use code 8X8X.

See you in the morning.
