OOTD - White Jeans & Stripes & A Discount Code

Happy Thursday ladies, not only my favourite day of the week but that Thursday feeling has got even sweeter with the thought of a long Bank Holiday weekend ahead of us :-)  And on top of that Great Plains currently have 20% off everything until the end of tomorrow.

Now if you've not shopped at Great Plains before you should definitely take a peek.  I bought a couple of pieces from them last year & have to say the quality & cut of the tops are gorgeous.  Needless to say the thought of 20% off everything is tempting me further &  I've currently got my eye on the following items.

Firstly I just love both the colour & style of this first tunic dress & think this would look fabulous teamed with wedges & a denim jacket.  Or for a more dressed down feel I'd also wear with a pair of plain trainers or ankle boots too.

Great Plains Dreamcatcher Lace Tunic Dress

Then there's this lovely cream lacy number which again would look stunning for daytime teamed with a denim jacket or dressed up for a night out with a black or navy blazer.  Plus of course it would be perfect for an evening on holiday.

Great Plains Lacy Lou Summer Dress

I probably don't even need to say why I'm loving this casual leopard print top do I?!!  Perfect for teaming with boyfriend jeans & trainers & I just love that it's in grey tones.

Great Plains Animal Instinct Slouchy Top

And finally having fallen in love with my wide legged trousers I'm seriously tempted to try a pair of culottes.

Great Plains Night & Day Pleated Culottes

Tell me I'm not the only one tempted to click the button?!!

Back to today & keeping things nice & simples & getting the white jeans out for their first outing this year.

A Boden Show & Tell & WIWT

Now we all know I love a bit of Boden, so when they recently released their latest drop & their brochure landed at my door I didn't loose any time in seeing what beauties there were to tempt me.

As I've mentioned in the past I'm instantly drawn to Boden's more classic, less patterned pieces that are easy to style with the latest trends, so without further ado here's my current wish list.

I just love this navy jumpsuit - perfect for dressing down with flat sandals or trainers & layering with a denim jacket on cooler weather but equally stunning teamed with heels & a blazer for a night out.  This would also make a super comfy travelling outfit too.

Boden Santa Fe Jumpsuit

Now I've yet to add a bomber style jacket to my collection but this patterned one is seriously tempting me. It puts me in mind of my Mango quilted jacket, which I often get asked where it's from.  This kind of jacket is great for teaming with classic plain pieces to make a real statement.

Boden Sophia Jacket

Now this next dress I spotted at their press day back at the beginning of the year & loved it the moment I saw it.  How perfect is this for layering with some statement jewellery & on cooler days teaming with a denim jacket...... I think this is definitely going to have to be purchased to try :-0

Having fallen head over heels in love with hot pink I now seem to be drawn to all things red at the moment, so I love this classic dress.  Another great wardrobe addition that could be styled with flat sandals & a denim jacket for daytime but equally dressed up with heels & a gold clutch for evening.  I think this would look stunning with gold accessories & a tan for holidays.

Boden Bridget Dress

If you're loving the 70s vibe this season then these simple kaftan styled dresses would be perfect for sunny days & great for wearing on their own as a dress & layered with a few gold necklaces & bracelets or also worn over a pair of skinny jeans as a tunic.

Boden Ingrid Dress

Boden Ingrid Dress

Sticking with the kaftan with these lovely boho inspired tops, which are ideal for the summer.  I love how Boden have styled the navy one with simple white shorts, but equally this would look just as stunning with a pair of boyfriend jeans & either ballet pumps/sandals or even trainers would look just as good.

Boden Adrianne Top

Boden Adrianne Top

Boden Adrianne Dress

Now you can't beat a maxi dress for the summer & holidays & I love the simplicity of this maxi dress, not to mention the tassel belt.  I'd style this with a few delicate gold chains & either a metallic or boho styled clutch.  Then on cooler days wear with either a denim jacket or even a biker.

Boden Amilie Maxi Dress

Boden Amilie Maxi Dress

Now if you've seen Boden's Alice shoes but wished they came in a flat version then you're in luck as they've now released these babies.

Boden Alice Flats

Boden Alice Flats

Now I've previously featured this tunic on the blog before (I love the edging).  This would make a stunning beach throw not to mention perfect for teaming with a pair of trousers be it jeans or a linen wide leg pair.

Boden Circle Crochet Tunic

And with my ever increasing love of all things striped then a classic navy & white breton is perfect for teaming with denim shorts, wide legged linen trousers or even capri pants too be they denim, white, navy or even red.

Boden Long Sleeve Breton

Of course come the Spring not to mention the Summer a denim jacket totally comes into it's own.  Now most of us probably own a classic styled denim jacket but as soon as I saw Boden's interpretation I instantly loved the round, frayed neckline.  Still classic but something a bit different too.

Boden Amanda Jacket

And finally Boden are on a total roll the past couple of seasons with their shoes & these lace up points are proving a real hit & they have tassels too!

Boden Lille Lace Up Point

Now Boden have very kindly let me choose a few items to style, so what did I choose?  Well first up it had to be the Circle Crochet Tunic.  As I've mentioned above not only will this be perfect for wearing down to the pool on holiday it's also a great top for teaming with a pair of trousers.  I've styled it with some distressed cigarette jeans & then injected some colour with the accessories.  Now I generally size up with Boden's tops but with this one I've ordered my standard size & there's plenty of room.

Necklace - Handmade
Tunic - Boden £69
Bag - Boden
Bracelets - Ashiana
Jeans - Zara
Shoes - The British Flat Shoe Company

I just love the detailing on the neckline & sleeves.

Of course I couldn't resist their classic breton & instead of teaming it with jeans I thought I'd style it with a pair of wide legged trousers, a statement pearl necklace & dress the outfit down a bit with my trainers.  Size wise I'd definitely suggest sizing up unless you want a very fitted look.

My Midlife Fashion, Boden, Zara, Mango, Trainers, Wide Legged Trousers, Stripes, Breton, Long Sleeved Breton

Breton - Boden £25
Necklace - Zara
Trousers - Zara
Trainers - Mango

As I've mentioned above I was really taken with Boden's take on the classic denim jacket so I couldn't wait to try it on & style it.  I've added the jacket to my above outfit to help dress the outfit down.  Size wise I've sized up with the jacket & whilst I could of probably have ordered my normal size I wanted the jacket to be a little less fitted & also have room for a layer or two.  The denim is just the perfect shade for summer such a soft denim blue that's going to be perfect for teaming with all colours.

My Midlife Fashion, Boden, Zara, Mango, Trainers, Wide Legged Trousers, Stripes, Breton, Long Sleeved Breton, Pearls, Denim Jacket, Boden Amanda Jacket

Breton - Boden £25

Necklace - Zara
Trousers - Zara
Trainers - Mango

As I said above I just love the frayed neckline.

And finally having found my New Look lace up flats so very useful I simply had to try Boden's version.  Naturally I feel in love with these babies the moment I slipped my foot inside.  I'd say these are true to size & like any new shoe may need the first one or two wears to break them in but after that I'm sure they're going to be super comfy.

My Midlife Fashion, Lille Lace Up Point, Boyfriend Jeans, Distressed Denim, Boden, Zara

Jeans - Zara
Shoes - Boden £89

Finally here's my outfit for today & as you'll see I simply had to wear my new shoes.

So what do you think?  Are you as tempted by Boden's latest additions as much as I am?  Is there anything that takes your fancy?  Or have you in fact already clicked the button?  I'd love to hear your thoughts & know what pieces are your favourite.

Have a fab day, only two more sleeps until the Bank Holiday weekend whoop whoop :-)

New Outfit Post - Dressing Down A Faux Leather Skirt

Happy Monday ladies!

The weather is supposed to be turning colder (in fact there was frost on the top of the cars this morning when I went out for a run) so before it gets too cold I thought I'd get the legs out & try my 'A' line pleather skirt with my trainers today.  So keeping things pretty casual with a simple off white tee & my khaki overskirt.

So here's hoping the week gets off to a great start for everyone........Monday has already got off to an interesting start here with the dog deciding to join me for a shower (we have a walk-in shower so obviously he decided to walk in!!).  This is the fourth time he's now done this over the course of the last few weeks & when I say he stands right under the shower head & gets completely soaked he really does.  Of course the lovely smell of wet dog not to mention the mess he creates when he decides to shave himself off makes it an interesting start to the day!

Have a great day & see you in the morning.

Celebrity Style Steal - Cat Deeley & WIWT

Time for a celebrity style steal & for this month I could't resist stealing the gorgeous Cat Deeley's style.  In my eyes Cat always seems to look stunning no matter what she wears whether it's dressed up for a red carpet event or rocking a more laid back boho look for everyday life & as soon as I saw today's look I just wanted to copy it.  I absolutely love everything about this outfit not to mention it's one of those outfits that's not only perfect now Spring has arrived but also ideal for teaming with opaques & layering up come the cooler months too.  Plus it's a great simple outfit that's not over accessorised so could be worn for many occasions.

First up here's Cat looking stunning in her effortless laid back style that she does so incredibly well.

Now if you don't already own a denim dress or two then with denim being such a huge player this season it really would be a great investment.  A bit like a pair of jeans really in that a denim dress is also a great item to own & perfect for dressing up or down.

So let's get on with the task of stealing Cat's style & seeing as I'm just loving her dress that seems a great place to start!

To re-create Cat's look I really don't think you're going to do any better than this gorgeous dress from Hush. I just love everything about it - the colour, fading, style & unlike a lot of shirt dresses it's a great length - not too short & not too long - just perfect for feeling sexy without worrying about exposing too much flesh!

Moving onto the bag next & we all know I love a bit of leopard print & that 'Bet' is never far away from my outfits.  So if like me you're a fellow lover then what do you think about this duffle shoulder bag?  I just love it & I'm wondering if I could possibly justify another leopard print addition to my collection ;-)

Turning to the sandals next & hopefully this gorgeous weather will continue so we can keep keep the sandals out.  So of course a tan pair are always going to be a fab multi-tasking pair.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a studded pair like Cat's but these ones from Dune are a great alternative.  Simple, elegant with a touch of bling - what more could you ask from a pair of neutral sandals?!

And finally for the necklace I've chosen this simple tusk pendant from Topshop.  Simple, elegant & something that will go with most outfits, not to mention be perfect for layering with a longer pendant too.

Finishing with my outfit for today & going with a bit of a boho vibe minus the flares!

Top - Zara
Necklaces - Handmade &
Jeans - Zara
Bracelets - Ashiana
Boots - Zara

Boho Top

Top - Zara £25.99
Necklace - Accessorize £14
Jeans - Zara £25.99
Boots - Mango £59.99

So what do you think is this a look that you love?  Are you like me & a fellow Cat stalker & love looking to see what she's wearing?  Or are you a lover of denim but not in the dress variety?  As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great Sunday - just a quiet one for us, which will no doubt see us demolish an Easter egg or two in front of the fire.  See you tomorrow & don't forget Boden currently have up to 20% off their tops & t-shirts see here.

New Outfit Post - Wide Legged Trousers & A Breton

Whilst I'm not totally convinced on the denim flares that are everywhere this season (loving them on others just not on me!) I have found myself leaning towards a wide legged pair of trousers.  Something that could be dressed up or down & would look good when teamed with a smarter pair of shoes as much as trainers.

Luckily I spied these navy trousers on the Zara website & they pretty much fitted the bill of what I'd envisaged I was looking for so naturally the button was clicked!

Naturally when they arrived I had to try them on straight away & it was love at first sight - a lovely pair of trousers that look far more than the £29.99 they cost.  With some lovely detailing on the sides plus they're crepe meaning they fall beautifully.  In fact I love them so much I couldn't wait to wear them so today they're coming out for their first play (I did have to hastily turn the hem up as I'm mainly planning on wearing these with flats but decided to keep the length pretty long as I think they look better this way) & for their first outing I'm teaming them with some trainers & a breton.

My Midlife Fashion, breton, wide legged trousers, white trainers, zara, boden, banana republic

Trainers - Mango £44.99

Busy day ahead - karate run, a few errands & 'to do' jobs to complete then over to my mums for tea & a catch up with the family & some cuddles & munchies with my three nephews.  Before a night in on the sofa with a film or two, which I'm hoping to stay awake for unlike The Avengers last night where despite desperately trying to keep my eyes open I still feel asleep for a good half of it.  Neither my son or hubby can comprehend how I can fall asleep in the cinema but what can I say, sitting down in a large dark room of an evening at the end of busy working week is only going to end up one way with me........does that mean I'm getting old?!!! ;-)

Hope everyone has a fab Saturday.
