Today I thought it would be fun to share with you the items that got me 'clicking the button' in the recent sales - all classic pieces that are prefect for slipping into my existing wardrobe & for the sake of hubby's blood pressure not all items that I intended to keep but hey if you're 'clicking the button' I find it's best to cover all eventualities. As with free returns I'd hate to miss a bargain & of course there's nothing worse than realising that an item you failed to click on has suddenly gone out of stock & you can no longer get it for love or money.
So first up I naturally had to make a few purchases from Zara (yes can you believe it there are some pieces that I don't already own & covert ;-) )
I just love Zara's jeans - great quality not an extortionate price & they fit me perfectly. I've had my eye on these loose fit distressed, frayed cuff pair of jeans for a while so as soon as they came into the sale it was a no brainer. And yes the order has arrived & the pair are now firmly in my wardrobe - although I would advise sizing down as even with the excesses from Christmas I was able to go down a size.
Now this season I've sold quite a few of my jackets & blazers & this cropped checked jacket in two of my favourite colours (navy & grey) was calling me. I just love the extra detailing on this jacket with the grey elbow patches, so yup this is now also hanging in my wardrobe - a wardrobe classic that is never going to date.
I also managed to grab a pair of Zara's nude flat lace up ballerinas that I'd been lusting over for a while. Unfortunately it looks like these have now sold out online hence I haven't been able to include a link or picture.
Naturally I also had to take a peek at Mango's sale & whilst this isn't specifically in their sale it is listed as a special price, so I thought this would be worth adding to my order to team with my tuxedo jacket, capri trousers & leopard print trainers - for a laid back spring/summer look. In fact I love it so much I wore it New Year's Eve.
Now about two years ago I bought a small red cross body bag from Zara, which I love for adding a pop of colour to my outfits but it's not the most practical in size as I can't fit my normal purse in so when I spotted this one from Osprey I thought it would be worth a shot & having taken delivery it's the perfect size & length.
Trying to think of classic timepieces I also liked the look of this slouchy knitted dress. But the fit was just to shapeless & loose on me so this has been returned pronto, which is a shame as I'd thought it would be perfect for dressing up with heels as much as it will for wearing with sandals & an arm full of bracelets come the warmer months.
More Mango goodies & wardrobe basics, all of which have yet to arrive but this striped long sleeved top - depending on the thickness of t-shirt I'm thinking will be perfect for teaming with denim & pleather alike & perfect for wearing over a blazer or two.
The same with this grey version, which will make a great alternative to my navy crew neck breton.
Likewise this camisole striped top - ideal for evening wearing with a tuxedo or come summer worn on its own with a maxi skirt or capri pants.
As you may have spotted this season I've really had a thing for ruffles & had been trying to resist this navy ruffled neck blouse but of course once it hit the sales I've had to order to see if it was how I had visioned in my head.
Oops another jacket, one that I first featured on the blog back in September & have again been telling myself I didn't need but with 50% off I decided to give it a try - that way at least I'll have either bagged a bargain or can put it out of my mind once & for all.
Then thinking ahead to summer one thing I could do with is a smart white cami for wearing both under blazers & on it's own in the summer so I thought the following two would be worth a look.
And finally I also thought this blue sequined tee would be worth trying on as again perfect for jazzing up one of my navy blazers in the Spring.
Back to today & keeping things nice & simples.

Or perhaps you're forward thinking to Spring & have purchased a few pieces that are going to add life into your existing wardrobe? Or maybe you've been so good avoiding the sales you've been polishing that halo instead?
As always I love reading your thoughts & comments.
Hope everyone has a lovely day, we're planning on making the most of our last day off work - I can't believe how quickly the Christmas holidays have sped past but hey that's the sign of a good time so I mustn't complain.
