As someone who doesn't wear a great deal of pattern, a splash of leopard print or 'Bet' as I like to call it can really do wonders for adding a bit of interest & make a plain outfit something a little bit special.
So seeing as we're still in the midst of chunky knits, layers & thermals I thought I'd have a look at leopard print accessories that can help glam up our outfits until Spring decides to be fully sprung.
Starting with something I may have a good selection of & that's footwear. Like I've already said I rarely wear patterns but I love my leopard print shoes/trainers/boots & in my opinion a girl can never have enough footwear of the 'Bet' variety - after all it's good to have all bases covered isn't it?! So here's just a small selection of the what's currently available on the high street that is tempting me to 'click the button', including the stunning velvet block heeled shoes below *swoons*.

As with shoes, I may also have a few different styled leopard print bags too. Well what can I say I like to be prepared & of course there's times we need a clutch for going out of an evening, cross body for hands free working/mummy days *obviously I mean shopping* not to mention a larger bag to carry all the 'essentials' in. And don't even get me started on the need to match our shoes to bag. As hubby will vouch I can rarely walk past anything leopard print without further investigation, stroking & cooing & these bags have all got me thinking!!

Finally in my opinion a wardrobe isn't complete without a leopard print belt &/or scarf for throwing on when we feel a little under dressed or are struggling with our outfit. Naturally there's lots of gorgeous temptation but here's just a few 'Bet'-tastic accessories that I'm sure most wardrobes would love *need*.

So ladies what are your thoughts on a splash of the old animal magic? Are you in the Bet camp & proudly flaunting your leopard print or is it a step too far towards the beehive & the Rovers Return?! As always I'd love to hear your thoughts & if you've seen some accessories I've missed off my travels that you think I 'need' in my life please shout!
Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you've all been spoilt with bubbles & chocolates in bed & have a truly special day.
See you tomorrow.
Hi - I got the Mint Velvet black kitten heel boots with the leopard across the back in the winter sales and love them. Is the wool coat you are wearing reduced or is it normally such good value?
ReplyDeleteHi those Mint Velvet boots are gorgeous & I bet you've found them so useful.
DeleteAs for the coat yes it's been reduced to just under half price so a real bargain. I bought the grey version in October & found it so useful I couldn't resist the navy :-0

Hi Jane, I definitely love a bit of Bet, I have court shoes from M&S a couple of years ago, a belt from Next, a very old jacket and a duster coat. My very best ones though are a Dior bag and a Louis Vuitton scarf which I adore. Both of which I saved up for over 12 months for.
ReplyDeleteHi Georgina I'm glad you're with me on the Bet front & how lovely that you've got a couple of special pieces of leopard print in your wardrobe. It really is a fab wardrobe classic/neutral that I'm sure the investment pieces will get years of use.

Hi Jane, the only leopard print items I have are 2 belts but I really like the shoes, bags and scarves you've shown so perhaps I need to get a bit braver and branch out! Congratulations on the feature in Woman magazine by the way :-).
ReplyDeleteHi Sally & thank you :-) Yes you should definitely think about trying some other leopard print accessories they really do transform an outfit & if you stick with accessories then it's just a subtle interest without being too loud or out there.

I'm am getting a bit hooked on a bit of Bet at the moment Jane! It's perfect to liven up some of the winter layers I'm still wearing at the moment xx
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat it Michelle - I'd be totally lost without my collection of Bet!

loving the navy Zara coat - what size did you buy? Thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathryn I'm wearing the S in the navy but in the grey the XS was plenty big enough so may be worth trying a couple of sizes.
