WIWT - Wardrobe Staples

Morning ladies.

So my outfit today is all about some wardrobe staples that are hard working items that can be styled in a number of ways & help transform a number of different looks.

One of these wardrobe staples I think we will all agree on is stripes.  Along with leopard print I'd be lost without the various bretons & striped jumpers I have hanging in my wardrobe. So when  Kettlewell recently got in touch to see if I'd like to choose something from their new SS16 collection my eye immediately went to their stripe 'V' neck t-shirt.

Obviously all four colours would make great wardrobe additions but I decided to keep things really classic & opted for the soft white & bight navy tee, but I was incredibly torn between this one and the white & bright red.

Made from 100% cotton the t-shirt has a lovely weight & doesn't cling to any unwanted parts of the body.  Plus it has some lovely little features including pleated cap sleeves & side splits at the hem & of course the 'V' neckline makes a lovely alternative to the crew neck of all my bretons.

Size wise I opted to go up a size as the t-shirt is described as a neat fit & I wanted my top to hang a little looser.

And naturally I've built today's outfit all around my new top & added a splash of 'Bet' for a spot of pattern clashing.

Happy Friday ladies - hope everyone has a lovely day.  I can't believe we've hit April already - this year is flying by isn't it?!  Let's hope April brings less of the April showers & lots of beautiful blue skies & sunshine instead.

Bit of a weird Friday here as our son is off to London for work for the weekend so this morning has been a bit manic checking he's got everything he needs.  It's going to be strange not having him home all weekend but no doubt he's going to have fun a few stories to tell when he gets home.  Plus of course it means a couple of date nights for me & hubby :-)

Enjoy your day & don't Enjoy you can get an extra 20% off Boden's mid-season sale plus 20% off all full priced items here.  Just remember to use code 5H3A at checkout & for my top picks from their latest collection see here & here.

  1. Oh, I love that little t-shirt, nice touch on the sleeves and a V neck, which apparently makes me look a foot taller (LOL)! Might have to treat myself to the red one. Hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the peace. I know what you mean though, you miss them when they're not around leaving a trail of toast crumbs everywhere and drinking all the milk!

    1. It's strange isn't it Astrid the house always seems so much quieter if one of us isn't home & I don't think we're particularly noisy. Still it's lovely to see him growing up & to have the opportunities he's experiencing - but that won't stop us missing him :-)
As for the top the red tee is gorgeous isn't it & perfect for brightening up a simple outfit.
      Enjoy your weekend.
