Taking A Look At Uniqlo & WIWT

Morning ladies today I thought it would be fun to take a look at a shop that's only recently come to the forefront of my radar & that's Uniqlo.

Whilst I've always been aware of the brand, I'd never, until recently purchased anything from them.  Of course that all changed as soon as I spotted the lovely high collar ruffle blouses that I recently purchased & just love.    Not only is their price point great the quality & design of the blouses is just stunning.  In fact I don't think I've ever felt such a lovely soft cotton & having worn & washed them both a few times now I can report back that they've washed & ironed well to.

The blouses were from a design collaboration with Ines De La Fressange who is the stunning French actress who first came to my attention way back when she became the cover girl for Lancome.  Now we all know that French women have it pretty sussed in terms of fashion, style & class so when a huge icon decides to put her name to a collection of clothing it's definitely worth further investigation.

Like I say I've been incredibly pleased with my two purchases from Ines' first release this season so now that her second collection for SS16 has hit the shops I thought it would be fun to feature a few of the pieces that have caught my eye & show you how I'd style them this season.

As you'll see from my outfit inspiration below I've tried to feature classic wardrobe staples that with a few tweaks can form the basis of many an outfit & ones that will never go out of style.  All tailored & timeless pieces that when teamed with key trends from the current season will look relevant & up to date but in a chic & understated manner.  Together with inspiration that will hopefully cover all eventualities weather wise this season.

SS16 Inspiration, Uniqlo Clothing, Uniqlo Ines Wool Blazer, Uniqlo High Rise Boyfriend Ankle Fit Length Jeans, Uniqlo 100% linen stand collar ¾ sleeves, boden florence flat point, ines linen boat neck stripe sweater, John Lewis collection pom pom straw shopper bag, uniqlo ines fedora hat, uniqlo ines cotton trousers, marks and spencer ghillie lace up sandal, uniqlo jacquard short sleeve dress, john lewis octavia small across body bag, marks and spencer faux leather biker jacket, baukjen veja esplar trainers

SS16 Inspiration, Uniqlo Clothing, My Midlife Fashion, Shop My Style, Uniqlo Ines linen stripe boat neck sweater, uniqlo ines straw fedora hat, baukjen veja esplar trainers, uniqlo ines cotton relaxed linen shorts, uniqlo ines 100% silk georgette silk dot blouse, oasis suede patch witch stitch cross body bag, marks and spencer wide leg straight cropped trousers, topshp venus stud block heel sandals uniqlo cardigan jacket, john lewis weekend motif clutch bag, great plains virginia lace midi embroidered dress, dune kitty wedge heeled sandals

As I've already mentioned Uniqlo really are reasonably priced & I'm amazed that the cotton trousers above have now been reduced to just £4.90!  Seriously if you're tempted I'd advise clicking that button sharpish as at that price they're not going to be around for long & they're also available in other colours too.

I'm also seriously tempted by the cardigan jacket only £19.90 (also available in several other colours) which I think would be perfect for throwing on, on days where the temperatures are forecast to rise & you just need a layer first thing.  Especially if you're like me & love a blazer as it would be perfect for rolling up in your bag when not required not to mention an ideal layer for travelling.

Likewise I'm also thinking that striped short sleeve dress might make a great addition to my wardrobe - although I'd need to decide which colourway - blue/red or white/blue?!!

Right before I get distracted with what I want to add to my basket here's what I'm wearing today & in an attempt to release my inner Parisian chic I'm styling up a new scarf I've just bought from Zara that is perfect for accessorising an outfit with a pop of colour & a great alternative to wearing a necklace.

So ladies what are your thoughts on Uniqlo & in particular the Ines de la Fressange's range?  Do you see anything to tempt you into investigating further?  I have to say after my recent purchases they're firmly on my radar....so much so that I may just have to get 'clicking that button'!!  After all who doesn't want to radiate the chic classic finesse that French women radiate?!

See you in the morning & as always I'd love to hear your thoughts on today's post.

  1. Love your look, looks very Parisian :)

I've only recently found uniqlo and love their clothes too, I picked up a soft aqua Silk Touch shirt which is lovely. Was going to get the Light Blue Blazer but then the price had been corrected to 29.99 when I checked again last night :(

    1. Thanks Claire, they're definitely a brand that's worth checking in on aren't they as the quality & pricing is brilliant. By the way I've just checked the pricing on the jacket & it's been reduced again to £19.90. I think I might have to join you in clicking that button & investingating further!
