Morning ladies today I thought we'd look at a style of top that began it's revival last summer & seems to be everywhere this season & that's the off the shoulder 'Bardot' top.
I dipped my toe in this trend last summer with a simple off white & blue striped version & found it incredibly easy to wear (just make sure you wear it low enough on your arms to avoid the sleeves pinging up!). Plus of course it's absolutely brilliant when on holiday or when out enjoying our summer as you haven't got to worry about strap lines. You can also of course even wear with the sleeves above your shoulders on cooler days. So all in all quite versatile.
Personally I prefer this type of top to be quite floaty so it doesn't cling to any unwanted lumps & bumps & worn loosely tucked in at the front to add definition & shape.
Having invested in a couple more tops of this style this season I thought I'd show you just how easy this style is to wear dressed up or down. So here's a few style suggestions on how I'm intending to style mine this summer.
And here's my pick of the bunch currently on the high street (please click on each image for further details).
Back to today & I'm breaking out a new purchase that I managed to get the other week when ASOS were offering 20% off everything. As hubby said another white top....errh that will be a yes but it's very pretty & I love the tie detailing at the back. Plus whilst it's low cut you can even wear a bra underneath so happy days! I'm teaming it today with my bargain crop trousers from Mango & going for a monochrome theme.

So ladies what do you think? Did you like me dip your toe into this trend last summer & find yourself adding to your collection this year? If so what's your favourite way to style yours? Or perhaps you've yet to give this look a go?
As always I love reading your thoughts & comments. Plus has anyone taken advantage of Boden's 30% off all dresses (click here & use code 4A4N) or started shopping the sales? I'd love to hear what you've bought.
Have a fab day & I'll see you in the morning - can't wait to show you what I'm wearing for a special occasion tomorrow, let's just hope it stops raining by then!
What a fresh looking top.
ReplyDeleteToday's post is a timely, I've just bought two Bardot dresses and am working on the bra strap challenge.
Ooh hope you find a suitable bra, it can be so tricky working out which one is going to be best but if Marks & Spencer delivery to you I'd certainly recommend giving them a go.

Oh, bone of contention. Delivery! We have a relatively small franchise here which m and s stocks like a big store, e.g 50k prs black tights and no other colour, heaps of size 8,10 and 20,22 jeans and nothing in between. And because it's a franchise, online ordering us not permitted and the local shop can only order items on request if there's stock at the Marble Arch branch and not off the website, so invariably the response is, it's not in stock, even though the website has loads. Phew, glad to get one off my chest! Sorry to cry on your shoulder.
ReplyDeleteOh that's not good. Why on earth can't they order from the stock online - that just doesn't make sense & would drive me nuts!! Have you ever thought of emailing their customer services?!
