Morning ladies as soon as I saw this picture of Elle Macpherson I instantly thought of my new Zara jacket & thought how much this whole outfit was right up my street. Stylish, practical & comfy what's not to love, plus I have similar pieces so it's an easy look to recreate. Not to mention perfect for this month's style steal, as you could so easily layer this up with a long line military coat or throw on a faux fur jacket over the top.
So let's get cracking on re-creating Elle's style with finds off the high street.
Starting with the 'hero' piece & something I don't normally need any persuading in investing in - a statement jacket! As I've already mention I've recently purchased the below number from Zara after trying to convince myself I didn't need it, which of course I don't but when I finally tried it on in store any resolve caved & I was at the till faster than you can say Usain Bolt ;-)
For the t-shirt I've chosen to go for something a little plainer than what Elle is wearing as I think there's enough going on with the jacket. Plus what I love about this t-shirt is that if you took the jacket off there's a great bit of detailing across the shoulders to make this feel more special than a simple white 'V' neck.
As for the trousers I'm going with a faux leather pair I've featured on blog previously & look to be this year's version of a pair I brought last year & have loved wearing.
And finally for the trainers I'm loving these with the muted splashes of gold.
As I love everything about this look I've had to style up my version of the look with pieces that were already hanging in my wardrobe for today's outfit.
Jacket - Zara
T-Shirt - J Crew
Faux Leather Trousers - French Connection
Trainers - Golden Goose
T-Shirt - Karen Millen
Faux Leather Trousers - Great Plains
Trainers - Carvela
So ladies is it a yay or nay?! Are you feeling the military trend this season or perhaps it's something you love from afar but don't feel comfortable wearing? If so there's lots of military inspired jackets out there that aren't quite so full on & would be a good starting point to get you comfortable with the look. This one is very similar just more subtle than the Zara one as there's not gold detailing.
Right after lots of days of being busy doing I don't seem to be crossing much of my 'to do' list so I'm determined to have a productive work day today......well that's the plan, although I've been saying that for the last week & a half! Then I'm off out to bingo with the girls later & I can't wait! Bingo dubbers are at the ready & I'm keeping my eyes on the prize. Although regardless of if any of us win I'm sure it's going to be laugh :-)
Enjoy your Wednesday ladies & I'll be back as always in the morning.

Yay from me. It's a perfect Style Steal, well done Jane. As someone so very much shorter, fatter and light years older than you and Ellie, something "in the spirit of ..." would probably be a sensible option for me!
ReplyDeleteMorning Mary you can get some great nods to the trend at the moment & of course just changing plain buttons on a blazer/jacket to brass or silver ones can be another great way of adding a touch of a military feel to an item already hanging in your wardrobe :-)
