Stylng A Gilet 3 Ways With The White Company

The White Company reversible sheepskin gilet

Morning ladies, now I think it's safe to say we all know I love a gilet so when The White Company recently got in touch to see if I would like to pick an item of clothing to style & showcase how I'd wear it during the season my eyes went straight to this stunning gilet above.

Available in black or natural this gilet has the added benefit of being fully reversible so you can either wear the fur on the outside or inside.  Plus it's a great flattering length & covers your hips, so perfect if pairing with leather leggings & it even have pockets, which we all know are extremely useful!

As you'd expect from The White Company the gilet is beautifully made & a real timeless piece.  Definitely worth investing in to add style & wow factor to the simplest of outfits & with 30% off at the moment it's the perfect time to invest or to mention to Santa as it's a great saving.  Although you'll have to be quick as sizes are selling fast with the natural colour being sold out in lots of sizes already.

So how would I style the gilet for this time of year?  Well it would probably be easier to answer how I wouldn't style it as a simple, timeless black gilet really will go with most pieces in your wardrobe.  For casual days pair with boyfriend jeans, a simple polo neck, trainers & a scarf, for something a little more dressy throw over a simple little black dress or even an 'A' line leather skirt.  Not to mention pair with leather leggings & over the knee boots or cigarette pants or even worn over a maxi dress & teamed with a felt hat for a boho kind of feel.  Plus it could be worn over the top of a leather biker jacket.  Like I say lots & lots of possibilities.

I've narrowed my looks down to 3 for today's post, one of which I'm wearing today & will share with you later on.  For  my other two looks I thought I'd go for a casual look & something slightly smarter & finishing with something a little smarter still for today.

As I mentioned earlier I immediately picked their reversible gilet to style but there were lots of other stunning pieces, which I was equally tempted to choose, so I thought I'd share with you my top picks.  Especially as quite a few pieces are currently on offer with 30% off & those that aren't you can get 15% off by clicking here & using code AP238 :-)

Top Picks, My Midlife fashion, The white company, top picks, the white company leather sleeve boiled wool coat, the white company symons coated skinny jeans, the white company batwing knitted dress, the white company chunky oversized patch pocket cardigan, the white company lace shell top, the white company cashmere chunky v neck jumper, the white company tweed jacket, the white company sleeveless knitted dress, the white company boiled wool sleeveless cardigan

Back to today & as I mentioned above I'm styling my new gilet a third way with more of a dressier feel as we're off to my Mum's for a Christmas family gathering & also to celebrate the fact that she & her wonderful partner have just got engaged!!  Which of course is extremely exciting.  It's so lovely to see them so happy & in love & I was given the huge honour of being the first to be told on my birthday when her partner very sweetly asked me for my blessing.  To say I was beyond myself with excitement for them both is somewhat of an understatement & made it my best birthday ever.  Plus of course I'm thinking outfits, shopping, wedding planning :-)

So for the third look I'm pairing my gilet with my new cropped kick flare trousers, a simple fitted black top & some old leopard print ankle boots.

So ladies what are your thoughts?  Are you a lover of a gilet as much as I am or is it something you keep meaning to purchase but never get round to?  If you pick the right one you'll wonder how on earth you ever managed without.  Plus they really are lovely & warm & if layered up with some cashmere & a thermal can even be worn in the depths of winter.

Right I'm off to make sure I've got everything I need for the family gathering including everyone's Christmas presents.  Have a wonderful Sunday & don't forget you can get 15% off all full priced items at The White Company plus free delivery on orders over £50 here.  Just remember to use code AP238 at the checkout or until the end of today (11th December) get 20% off with code AP408 :-)

See you in the morning.

  1. I love a good gilet! I have a black one & this winter I've bought one that is such a pale pink it's almost a neutral. Great with anything!
