Morning ladies this Sunday I thought we'd have a look at homeware, something I only occasionally feature on the blog when I've bought a few bargains from local antique & flea markets but after lots of requests I thought I'd share with you some other additions I've been recently making to our home.

I don't know if it's something to do with getting older, current trends or because hubby & I have a new found love of visiting antique fairs & discovering bargains but after going through a period where everything was very modern in our home, when we moved into our current home some 12 years ago after all the renovations we slowly began making the change over to more traditional/shabby chic furniture that just seemed to fit better with the feel of our home.

Of course there's lots of stores that offer stunning homeware & accessories & I'm always up for a trip to Homesense as you just never know what you're going to discover.  Plus naturally I have a love for Zara Home & Marks & Spencer but one store that I could literally take one of everything is Laura Ashley.  I mean who wouldn't?!  Hubby always dreads me picking one of the catalogues up as he just knows it's going to get the cogwheels in my brain working overtime with new ideas to try!

So seeing as there's currently 25% off all home items (until the 19th of February) today seemed perfect timing to share with you my top picks (above) & also share some items that I've recently purchased (below).  Plus a top tip if you're tempted & haven't subscribed to their emails if you register you can get an additional 10% off your first order so all in all a fab saving when you add it to the 25% off :-)

Prior to Christmas we treated ourselves to some new bedding, cushions & throws.  I can't find our actual design online but this one looks very similar & it washes & irons beautifully.

As soon as I spotted these pineapple lamps I just knew they'd be perfect for the study as they go with the colour scheme perfectly.  Plus they also come in a smaller size here.

Now we'd been on the lookout for the perfect rug for our living room for ages & wanted something that had a vintage feel, was fairly large in size & whilst patterned not something that was overwhelming.  So the above rug fitted the brief.  Hubby was a little unsure when we ordered it online but instantly fell in love with it in the flesh.  I think it has a bit of vintage chateaux vibe if that makes sense.

And finally we decided to take the plunge & invest in a piece of their furniture which again we ordered online.  I know it will sound silly but this corner bookcase has totally transformed the room & just tied the whole look together.  Now we hadn't seen any of this range before ordering so just had to keep our fingers crossed that the stain of the wood would match our existing furniture & luckily enough it's the perfect shade - phew!  I've never really had the perfect place to keep ornaments gifted to me by my Grandma (who preferred to buy antiques & ornaments for our birthdays as children) & my Mum (to mark special occasions) so I'm delighted I have somewhere safe to now show them off plus my Grandma's old clock fits in to.  I just love the soothing sound of the old fashioned tick tock of the clock, which instantly transports me back to sitting in her living room as a child & watching my Grandad wind it up.

Back to today & we're off out to my sister's to celebrate our oldest nephew's 11th birthday.  So the perfect time to break out a new investment jacket.  Now I've recently had a major clear out of my wardrobe & culled my jacket collection but this one was never going to get left behind.  A real timeless wardrobe staple that is never going to date.

For it's first outing I'm keeping things pretty casual with a lace detailed top, boyfriend jeans & statement leopard print flats.

  1. Wow, Jane, that sitting room is just perfect - and would I expect anything else from you?! Love the outfit too, nice jacket.
For me, LA has always been about lighting and fabric, they do both so well. I have a 30 year old table lamp that will be with me forever. My fabric love of 30 years is LA too. Oh heck, you've whetted my appetite, I'm now going to have to check out the website ..., what did you say now, 25%, + 10 %, what is there not to love about that? :-).

    1. Aww thanks Mary & yes it's definitely worth taking a peek with the discounts at the moment.
I can remember as a teenager when I had more time for crafting having a stash of their patchwork squares in lots of their designs which were just perfect for all the sewing I did back then. You just can't beat them in terms of quality & longevity. Their home range is simply timeless & I could indeed go wild in the aisles!
Hope you've had a lovely weekend.
      Jane xx

  2. Ahh! Love all the designs present here, the home accessories, soft furnishings, and the furniture. Most probably, we are looking for good interior designs to decorate our home interiors as well as exteriors. Therefore after completing the house, we should go for the interior designer to give a perfect look to our house. We provide the home accessories, furniture, and other furnishings and if we can get some amount of discount it is really beneficial for us. Thanks for this wonderful overview.
