Morning ladies it's time for my monthly style steal & for this month I thought I'd recreate this outfit of Nicky Hilton Rothchild. An outfit that is totally up my street (apart from the buggy - been there done that ;-) !!). Personally I just love everything about this look & the beauty of it is that each item would easily earn it's keep in anyone's wardrobe. Not to mention are total classics that will never date.
So let's start with the jacket - a classic single breasted black blazer that can so easily be dressed up or down. I'm loving the one below, which is slightly longer in length so super flattering & slimming on the hips.
Then onto the t-shirt & a simple crew neck is perfect for layering under a blazer, biker or even used as an extra layer come the cooler months. I love the fact that the below t-shirt doesn't have too higher neckline.
A pair of simple plain black skinny jeans are another wardrobe 'must have' as they're so easy to dress up or down & can form the basis on many an outfit. These look a fab pair for anyone needing to invest & I'm loving the ankle boots too!
And finally the shoes - something classic but with a bit of detailing to bring that much needed wow factor to a simple & classic look. I just love the stud & pearl detailing of these loafers below & am very tempted to investigate further as they're everything I love about accessories - something that little bit different that will bring many a simple outfit to life.
Back to today & we're having a quiet Mother's Day celebration. Hubby has cooked breakfast & our son is in charge of lunch so I'm looking forward to just kicking back & enjoy the day with my loved ones, enjoying the odd film in front of the fire & needless to say the odd glass of bubbles. So it's a simple look today with some loose fit grey trousers, a simple 'V' neck tee & leather biker jacket to tie the look together.

So ladies what are your thoughts on Nicky's look? Is it something you can see yourself wearing & perhaps have similar pieces already hanging in your wardrobe? Or maybe you're not one for wearing head to toe all black & would mix it up with a different coloured top or shirt? And what about those shoes?! Anyone tempted to join me in looking into them?! As always I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Right I'm off the start the Mothering Sunday celebrations. As always I'll be back in the morning but in the meantime I hope you all have a wonderful day & are spoilt rotten by your little or not so little loved ones. For anyone missing their mother today try to remember the good times & your special memories, loved ones never really leave you & are always by your side.

Love that longer length jacket.
ReplyDeleteNice words about mums, Jane. I'm in the UK at the moment so am not spending time with Son though he's already been in touch this morning. Somehow I don't think I'll be getting much (read no) mother's-day-spirit-pampering from hubby :-(.
It's such a flattering length Mary.
DeleteEnjoy your time in the UK & fingers crossed hubby surprised you. If not I'm sure your son will pamper you on your return home.
Jane xx
I think that bit of detail on the jacket - the epaulettes and cuff- help to lift it. I think it does need a little something else to help along the ‘all black’ look. Maybe those lovely pearls of yours Jane. They would go with the pearly loafers too.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely all in the detailing Chris & like you say some pearls or a brooch or even just a stack of bracelets would transform this look even more & add a bit of personality. So far I've managed to resist the shoes, but loving your idea of them teamed with my pearls!
DeleteHave a lovely day.
