Morning ladies, today I want to talk about jewellery not costume jewellery that we all treat ourselves to but jewellery that's designed to last you a life time, that's often bought to mark an occasion & evokes special memories.
I've always had a huge weakness for all jewellery after developing a love for the same from my Grandma who chose to invest her hard earned wages into jewellery & antiques, something my Grandad never quite understood as money was tight but she would scrimp & save until she could invest in a particular piece that had caught her eye.
As a child I would spend hours admiring her collection & on her weekly night sleep over would always hurry into her room of a morning so I could lie next to her & try on all her jewellery that lay on the bedside table. Along with her beautiful rings, of which I have a couple to remember her by, one item that particularly comes to mind when I think of my Grandma is her charm bracelet. Something that was brought out on special occasions to wear & was literally full to the brim of charms that she had collected on her travels.
I was recently approached by Links of London to see if I would be interested in featuring one of their iconic pieces, the Sweetie Bracelet from their Sweetie Collection.
Lovers of the brand may recall that this bracelet was first launched some 15 years ago & is a modern take on a charm bracelet. So the perfect piece of jewellery for me that will evoke memories of my Grandma & my childhood.
As you can see from the above pictures the jewellery comes beautifully packaged in cream & black oval boxes tied with black ribbon & has a truly luxurious feel.
Designed with an expandable circumference the Sweetie bracelet can either be worn in it's original form or with the addition of charms, which can be bought at the same time as the bracelet or added at a later occasion by simply threading them on to the split rings which are positioned at various points around the bracelet.
Plus in honour of it's anniversary Links have updated it's design so that you can now personalise the bracelet not only with the addition of various charms but by adding different coloured rings & beads. They even have a dedicated bracelet builder here, where you can customise & design your dream bracelet.
Available in 3 different sizes I decided to go with the original Sweetie Sterling Silver Charm Bracelet, but should you prefer something a little bit more dainty there is also a miniature version here.
In terms of customising I knew straight away that I wanted my bracelet to feature some gold beads so that it could be worn with any of my jewellery & wouldn't be limiting in the future. So I added some yellow gold & rose gold sweetie rings & to finish the look I chose the Guardian Angel charm to represent my Grandma as I always refer to her as my Guardian Angel as I like to think she is looking over me.
Perfect for wearing on it's own, the Sweetie bracelet is also ideal for wearing with other bracelets & is something I particularly like to do to customise an outfit. In fact I think the more the better as you can see from the below picture.
Needless to say there are lots of other charms to choose from & I've already got my eye on a few. I'm currently thinking these will make great gift ideas for my husband & son & perhaps like my Grandma did with hers, I will treat myself to new charms to make special occasions/personal goals.
Just to give you an idea of the selection I've put together a few of my favourite charms below, which I may just forward onto hubby ;-)

Beautiful blouse and outfit. Enjoyed your memories of your grandmother...it's Mother's Day here in the U.S.A...Happy Mother's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you too Deborah. I hadn't realised when I wrote today's post that it was Mother's Day in America - how apt. Hope you've had a lovely day celebrating.
