Morning ladies, for this month's style steal I thought we'd take inspiration from the above image of Jennifer Lawrence.
Not only does it include a lot of wardrobe staples, some of which you've probably already got hanging in your wardrobe. It also makes the perfect stylish & practical outfit for jetting off on holiday.
So let's crack on & shop the high street to re-create the above look.
First up the ever useful panama - a 'must have' if you're heading to warmer climates, not only for sun protection but they really do pull the most simplest of looks together & of course they're ideal for hiding beach hair under. I have the below panama & it's definitely coming away with me plus it comes in 4 different sizes so perfect for those of us who usually find it difficult getting a hat to fit.
I probably don't need to tell you the benefits of a classic black blazer. I know I'd be lost without mine for dressing up or down outfits. Plus of course it's a timeless addition that can so easy be worn for work, rest & play. If you don't already own one then keep to a simple single breasted blazer that won't date & keep the detailing plain. Although if you want something with a little wow factor then consider swapping the plain black buttons for some gold ones that you can easily buy from a local haberdashery store or eBay.
Of course most of us love a stripe or two & this simple monochrome short sleeve tee would be perfect for recreating Jennifer's look & could also easily be teamed with denim or white shorts whilst on your holiday to create another outfit.
As for the trousers - if you're flying long-haul or just want to go with comfort then these tapered jersey joggers would be ideal.
Or for something a little smarter, what about these cropped kick flares. I have the navy version & love them, plus they're also really comfortable to wear so ideal for travelling. You could also team them with a pretty cami like this one, to create an evening look.
Then finally shoes - I can't say I'm loving the ones Jennifer has teamed with her outfit. Personally I think either a simple pair of white trainers like the ones below would work better.
Or if you prefer a sandal these cross over mules would look equally fab & of course prove extremely useful during the course of your holiday.
Back to today & after a couple of busy day's celebrating our son's 18th birthday we're having a relatively quiet one. So a chilled out day calls for a simple outfit of a pretty white top & jeans - oh & some glitter-tastic ballet pumps ;-)
Top - Mango
Jeans - Baukjen
Ballet Pumps - French Sole

So ladies what are your thoughts on this month's style steal? Is it a look you fancy re-creating? Perhaps you've got similar items already hanging in your wardrobe & plan on copying the look. Or maybe it's got you thinking about what to wear when you jet off on your holidays or even inspiration to create something similar but for a smarter occasion. As always I love hearing your thoughts.
Enjoy your Sunday & as always I'll see you in the morning.
You have amazing style! As I'm in my 40's I would never have thought to look to Jennifer Lawrence for style inspiration, however, you've made it more accessible with your post. Have a lovely Sunday and thank you for continued inspiration. Lisa x

ReplyDeleteHi what style of jeans do you wear? I have to stop wearing skinny jeans as they don't really suit me. I love your style and blog. Thanks, Ger
ReplyDeleteHi Geraldine & thank you so much for your lovely comment. I still wear skinny jeans occasionally but I've recently invested in a few J Crew pairs & love their Billie Demi-Boot Crop, which has a slight cropped kick to the leg, such as these http://rstyle.me/n/cqrem8s73e You can find the link to the Baukjen Boyfriend Jeans I'm wearing in this post above. These are slightly looser on the leg & cropped to the ankle although they do different lengths.
DeleteHope this helps.
