Last Minute Christmas Shopping
Morning ladies with Christmas fast approaching I thought I'd use this month's collaboration with Marks & Spencer to talk outfits for the coming days ahead. From last minute Christmas shopping, to collecting the turkey, delivering presents or just meeting up with friends I've put together seven outfits that will hopefully give you some inspiration & ideas on what to wear.
I don't know about you but if I'm having to face the crowds & do battle in the aisles then it's all about layers & comfort & what better way then with a pair of faux leather leggings teamed with a cashmere knit & trainers.
Delivering Christmas Presents
Of course delivering Christmas presents is always one of the fun parts of the season with the opportunity to catch up with loved ones who we may not have seen quiet as much as we'd wished over the year & what better way than with this stunning maxi dress. Perfect for teaming with a biker jacket & ankle boots as much as it would dressed down with trainers & an overcoat or come the summer a blazer & heels.
Christmas Eve Drinks in the Pub
Then for festive drinks in the pub a pretty blouse teamed with denim is never going to let you down. Finish off with some heeled ankle boots to flatter the legs & a timeless warm coat for closing time & you're good to go.
Christmas Day
Come the big day itself whether you're cooking lunch or going out to family or a restaurant style & comfort are both key. The above look is similar to the outfit I wore last Christmas Day, which was cosy, felt like I'd made an effort but equally not too restrictive for those all important 40 winks after dinner.
Boxing Day Walk
Then come Boxing Day I think most of us make an effort to blow away the cobwebs & make a little room ready for the next feast. So a warm cosy coat, chunky knits & a sturdy pair of boots are all that you need for braving the elements.
Night In With Friends
Of course whether it's before, during or after Christmas Day there's always the odd catch up or house party to attend so a statement top teamed with some timeless cigarette pants & biker jacket will stand you in good stead.
New Year's Eve
Then finally of course there's New Year's Eve & for me something stylish & dressy is always going to be the answer. No matter whether you're off out, out or just going round to a friends a tuxedo blazer & trousers will fit right in, not to mention make great wardrobe staples for the months ahead. Just finish the look off with a statement clutch & glittery heels.
As with previous months I've also been allowed to pick a few treats to add to my wardrobe. So what have I picked? Well pieces from the outfits above that I think will help breathe new life into my existing wardrobe.
Firstly the star cashmere jumper, which will probably not come as any surprising seeing as it's my favourite shade of grey not to mention has stars on it & is my knit of choice - cashmere! Now I usually size up in Marks' cashmere jumpers but with this one there's no need to as it comes up slighly large. I'm wearing a size 8, which is a little loose & not too fitted. If you want more of a fitted look then go down a size.
Secondly after I've been getting so much wear out of these navy velvet ankle boots when I spotted that they did a very similar style but in black in a faux suede here, I just knew they'd be perfect with not only most things in my wardrobe but also my third pick of this skirt. Now the boots seem to keep coming back into store in small quantities so it's worth keep refreshing that screen in the hope you get lucky or failing that there's similar here, which have also got really good reviews. In terms of sizing the skirt comes up a little big on the waist but if you prefer wearing your skirts more on your hips like me take your normal size & again the boots are very slightly on the larger size but I've gone with my true size for more comfort due to the pointed toe.

So ladies see anything to tempt you? Hopefully at least the post has given you food for thought in terms of what to wear over the coming few weeks & if you're on the look out for a skirt that you can dress up or down then I can't recommend the one I'm wearing highly enough. I'm also thinking of teaming it with an evening off the shoulder top & courts for a evening look & swapping the heels for trainers for everyday life when I'm out & about.
As always I'll be back in the morning.

Thank you for the inspiration! It's so helpful to see new ideas for wearing items that I already have in my wardrobe. I like the fact that your outfits are suitable for "normal" women doing "normal" things!
ReplyDeleteHi & thank you so much for your lovely comment. I'm delighted to hear you've found the outfits of inspiration.
