Morning ladies, well I don't know about you but January seems to have whizzed by & seeing as we're entering a new month tomorrow it seems the perfect opportunity to share with you a few new beauty products I've been trying.
The first of which is the LQ Liquid Health Skin, Hair & Nails daily supplement. Now I have in the past tried & failed to take Aloe Vera gel but quite frankly the taste was absolutely disgusting & I was only managing to take half the recommend daily dose. So when I was approached about these liquid supplements I initially turned it down as I thought it would be the same & life is just too short for taking something that tastes disgusting & you have to build yourself up to swallowing every day. However, based on my reservations they offered to send me an initial pack with no obligations to see what I thought of the taste. So mid December I nervously opened my first bottle (having spent about half an hour building myself up to be brave) & I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it taste quite nice, I also didn't find myself having to swallow it whole, instead as the taste was pleasant I was happy to sip it & from that first bottle I've been taking it every morning since!
Filled with marine collagen, hyaluronic acid, resveratrol, silicon, glucosamine, selenium & vitamins including vitamin C, B7 and E the supplement is designed to help support & maintain skin, hair & nails. Like I say I've been taking it for around 6 weeks now & like with most things these supplements need to be built up over time but I've already noticed a difference to my nails, which are less dry & my skin which on the whole feels a lot smoother. So if you're looking to start taking a daily supplement & hate the idea of swallowing tablets this would make a great alternative plus they also have more specific ranges for Joint Care & Advanced Skincare.
Talking of skincare I have also been trialling a couple of products from Caudalie's Premier Cru range. The first of which is their new serum - The Serum, an energy activator that has been marketed as the 'ultimate anti-aging treatment' to help correct the signs of aging, which when used with their The Cream, will multiple anti-aging results. In fact the company states that by using the two products together they will be 7 times more effective on your wrinkles :-) Both creams are applied of a morning & evening, with The Serum first followed by The Cream. What I particularly loved about the products is that they both feel really light to apply & soak quickly & easy into the skin leaving a brighten & even skin tone. Plus The Serum has a lovely cooling effect that feels really refreshing after cleansing. I have combination skin but should you suffer with dry skin then their The Rich Cream may be better suited to use with The Serum. And as will all Caudalie products both items contain natural & environmentally friendly active ingredients, with no testing on animals, 0% paragons, phenoxyethand, phthalates, mineral oils, sodium laureate sulphate & no animal ingredients. So are ideal if you prefer your skincare to be natural. You can see the complete Premier Cru range here.
Jo Malone Vitamin E Nourishing Hand Treatment
The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%
The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid 5%
The final two products that I've treated myself to over the last month are the Jo Malone Vitamin E hand treatment, which having vowed to myself this year I WILL start using hand cream & not fall asleep before applying it. Plus having caught sight at the worms on my hands (the raised veins that I used to call worms on my Grandma's hands!) I've decided I need to take serious action & whilst this hand cream is a lot pricer than other brands it's brilliant, soaks in fast & isn't over perfumed. Plus it's even helping my hubby's hands who suffers with painful cracked skin the moment the weather turns colder & he's tried everything to no avail!
Having heard so many good things about The Ordinary's products I also thought I'd give one of their products a try to see if they lived up to the hype. Trying to decide what to go for was quite difficult but after reading lots of online reviews & noticing a lot of people saying this was their best product by far I thought I'd try their Alpha Lipoic Acid. Used 2-3 times a week as a treatment for your skin its designed to renew your skin's appearance & improve skin texture. I've only been using the product for just over a week but so far so good & at a cost of only £6 there's nothing to loose :-)
Back to today & I'm keeping things simple with a new oversized knit from Zara.
