Morning ladies I'm talking blazers today. A timeless & classic piece that makes a great wardrobe staple, that is just perfect for wearing this time of year.
Team with a breton as shown above, jeans & trainers for a modern take on a truly classic look, or pair with a pretty white broderie top & ballet pumps for a more timeless look. Equally they're perfect when teamed with cigarette pants for a more tailored & smarter look as much as they are dressed down with boyfriend chinos & they're also even perfect for throwing on with a maxi skirt/dress.
As with all things that will last you a lifetime think about investing as much as your budget will allow as it really is a piece you'll find yourself reaching for time & time again. Ideally the more classic the better, with a little bit of extra detailing whether this be with gold buttons, the cut or lapels.
So let's see what's available this season, with picks to suit all budgets. Starting with this stunning tweed blazer that has the most gorgeous gold button detailing. Everything about how this jacket has been styled makes me fall in love with a navy blazer all over again.
If however, gold buttons aren't something you're drawn to, then what about the above one that has less buttons & this time they're silver. Something you don't often see but perfect if you like teaming your jewellery to any other metals & it also gives a more understated look.
Moving away from the button detailing with the next couple of blazers & instead focusing on the cut & lapel detailing. The first one has more of a 'boyfriend' fit.
And this next one I actually own in grey, a real timeless take on a classic blazer, that can if you wish have the lapels turned down.
Or if you're looking for something that has more of a tuxedo feel, how about this double breasted blazer.
For a longer length, then the below jacket looks ideal.
Or if you just want a simple plain blazer then perhaps one of the next three will be what you're looking for. Single button detailing first.
Double button detailing below.
Or the below one comes with matching trousers (see here), which you may recall I've recently been styling for Fenn Wright & Manson.
More gold button action now but this time a double breasted design.
A slightly more boxy fit with this next one.
Or for a real timeless look.
And finally for a more relaxed feel how about a knitted version.
Of course this time of year the high street is awash with navy blazers & the above are just my top picks. However, if there's no restriction on budget then you won't ever go wrong with either this one or this one, or for a fab high street take on the first dream blazer then you might strike lucky & find your size is in stock in this one.
Back to today & it's a simple look of an oversized card with a ruffle blouse & denim. Definitely a go to look for me.
