WIW - Fail Safes

Happy Saturday ladies.  I've taken inspiration from the French with today's outfit featuring my Fenn Wright Manson blazer.  

I must admit the moment I put this outfit together it made me think that the classics really are the best & certainly the way forward as far as I'm concerned.  I'm definitely getting less interested in the latest trends & fads that are going to disappear in a flash of an eye & whilst I may dip my toe in from time to time I just don't think you can go wrong with tailored timeless pieces.  I'd generally rather buy less & better quality clothing that's going to flatter & still be in my wardrobe for years to come.  In fact this bag is a real golden oldie tote bag that's been languishing at the back of the wardrobe.  It must be around 15 years old & just goes to show investing in classics will certainly stand you in good stead.

Needless to say this picture was taken before the snow arrived when hubby was around to take my photo.  Due to the weather we're opting for a quiet day in so my ballet pumps have been swapped for cashmere socks & the blazer for an oversized knit. 

I don't know about you but a quiet day in getting a few things ticked off the to do list & perhaps the luxury of the sofa & a box set with a chilled bottle of wine come early afternoon are really calling me.  So looking forward to putting my feet up & no doubt balancing two puppies on my lap - sheer bliss, especially when the weather is like it is :-)
